The RavenHill Vampires

Angel dried off her wings, they had flown through a light rain shower. Her clothes were soaked thoroughly and she wished nothing more to be back home in her bead making comics. "why was it me?" she questioned herself, or to anyone that might be up there in the sky.

They were hiding out in an abandoned barn, Angel had seen some kittens huddled in a corner earlier. She had tried to catch one but they scattered, not trusting anything or anyone in this unforgiving world. She felt restless and tired, she was more homesick than ever. She got up and went over to climb the small ladder that went up to the loft of the barn, the smell of old hay and musty horse blankets tickled her nose. Don was huddled in a blanket, his wings outstretched and curled around his pale figure. He was scrawling something in a small white notebook, Angel brushed the feathers on his wings. This caused him to look up, the small crease between his eyebrows ceased for a fraction of a second. Angel smiled at the action "what are you writing?" she asked, he put his pencil down and shuffled over to her. Angel carefully took the small notebook from his hands and smoothed the creased page, she was silent for the few seconds while she read it. Once she had absorbed what it had said, she smiled. "your such a romantic" she said. Don rolled his eyes "I wasn't going to let you read it originally" he said, Angel frowned "well I'm glad you did" she said. What is this feeling?

Frantic beating in my c.h.e.s.t

Am I going to die

What will happen to me

This feeling of being free

I could fly away now, leave it all behind

But something is keeping me grounded

My vision is clouded

By a dark beauty

Day by day she changes

Not by appearance

But by spirit

It drags me in, makes me listen

They say devils don't love

But then what am I if I cannot love this beauty?
