"Okay, mother. I'll remember it."

"And don't forget your promise. You'll go straight to our house when it's your vacation and you will not take any extra classes if you will lose your time to rest. Studying is good, but too much of it is also harmful to your body."

After giving me a lot of reminders, mother pulls me in her arms and gives me a hug. I also wrap my arms around her and give her a little squeeze. After separating from my mother, father comes next. He carefully put his arms around me while his hands gently pat my back. He is not saying anything which is new to me.

I let out a chuckle when I heard his words. This father of mine is being sentimental all of a sudden. I have given my father a squeezing hug before speaking again.

"Father, even if I have grown up, I will always be your daughter who loves you very, very much!"

Ah... I know that it's embarrassing to act like this. But to make my father happy today, I'll set aside my etiquettes for now. And besides, maybe it will be my last chance to act like this in front of him since after graduating from the academy, I will be having my a.d.u.l.thood ceremony. When that time comes, I should not act like a child anymore.

"Of course. You are the only loving daughter that I have and no one can ever replace you."

Father separates from me before patting my head.

"Zain will be always on your side. You don't have to do things on your own. You can always ask him if you need anything. Remember to always take care of yourself."

I nod my head to show that I understand all of their words. Zain informed us that he already finished putting our things in our carriage and it's time to go now. My brother will be joining me at the academy to fix the papers I needed.

For the last time, I give my parents a tight hug. I told them not to be sad anymore since I'll surely visit them during our vacations. After that, my brother helps me to ride the carriage and left our mansion.

It took us six hours before we arrived at the academy. During those hours, my brother gave me a wooden box that contains five communication gems. It is a gem used to have a voice communication with someone for a maximum of thirty minutes. I was quite surprised because each gem cost two platinum coins. Even if we are very rich, giving me five pieces of it is too much.

"Brother, this is too expensive."

"No, it's not. In fact, I should apologize because I can only give you five pieces of it. The magic tower is lacking of supplies to create more communication gems. If you used all of it, just send me a letter so I can give you more of it."

"But it's too much!"

"Not really. When I was in the academy, father used to send me at least twenty pieces of it every semester."

I still want to refuse, but my brother insists that it's really fine. I pursed my lips and put the box in my luggage. I get it. My family is really rich that we can afford to spend a lot of platinum coins.

I thought that would be all, but brother gets something from his pocket and urges me to come closer. He holds my hand and put something on it. It's a necklace with a white, translucent jewel on it. I panic a little and was about to return the necklace when my brother shakes his head.

"Keep it. You'll need it while staying in the academy, Aly."

The necklace he gave to me is not an ordinary accessory. The white jewel in the necklace is a mana-infused stone. I'm aware that it's too hard to obtain this kind of item that's why I'm reluctant to accept it.

Logically speaking, I can still use magic. But it will endanger my life since I can't collect mana in my body. Even if our family is unique for using magic by converting energy as a substitute for mana, it's still useless for me since I have a weak body. The best solution for me is to avoid using magic.

Just by looking at the jewel, I already know how much mana was stored in that jewel. My brother helps me to put the necklace on my neck. The white translucent jewel suddenly turned into red. When the jewel copies the eye color of the person who wears it, it means that the jewel recognizes its owner. And now, the white, translucent jewel looks like an ordinary ruby necklace on my neck.

"Father and I both put our mana in this jewel. You can use it during your magic classes. Since you are now the owner of this necklace, the mana inside of it is now yours."

"Brother..."

"Accept it, Aly. It will make our heart at ease if we know that you are using it."

In the end, I accept it. My brother is right. This is a good alternative if I can't collect mana in my body. This necklace will be a huge help for me.

When we arrived at the academy, my brother quickly fixes my doc.u.ments and help me check the room I'll be using while staying in the academy. Zain helps me to bring my luggage in my room before leaving me for a while to put his own luggage in his own room. When my brother saw everything is good, it's now time for him to say goodbye.

"I have to go now, Aly. I still have things to do in the capital before sending my reports to father."

"Okay. I'll miss you, brother."

He lowers a little so he can look directly in my eyes before giving me a sweet smile.

"Studying here will give you more experience and knowledge. We all know that you are always seeking new knowledge. Of course, we'll also miss you, but we also know that it's for your own good too."

I nod my head as I listen to him. His voice is very soothing while giving me a piece of advice. It's a little weird since I'm obviously the older one here, but as his little sister, I obediently listen to him. I also think that he's doing a good job as a brother to his sister.

He ruffles my hair before leaving the academy. I let out a sigh before walking back inside the academy. I should prepare myself to be a student once again.
