The rise of nanometers

Chapter 138 Journey to Saibei

In September in Saibei, there is a slightly humid southeast wind.

Huang Xiuyuan picked up the telescope. He was currently in the Kulun Banner of Tongliao, which is the eastern part of the Mongolian region and is also the prairie in the impression of outsiders.

The sky is blue, the fields are vast, and the wind-swept grass and cattle and sheep are visible. This fixed impression is not the true color of the Kulun flag.

The convoy went north from the urban area of Kulun Banner, along Provincial Highway 451. Once passing Harerige Gacha, you can see the sparse grassland, flowing sand dunes, and semi-sand land on both sides of the road.

After Huang Xiuyuan held a meeting in Peiping, he was not in a hurry to return to Lingnan, but came to Tongliao.

On one side of the road, on the edge of the sand, a row of container houses were built, with signs saying Blue Age and Fengmin Agriculture.

Next to the temporary site, there is also a factory building being built, which is the breeding farm and fodder processing plant planned to be built by Fengmin Agriculture.

And the Blue Age came here to exploit mineral resources.

An element refining vehicle modified from a desalination vehicle and the supporting earth-moving vehicle are running quickly.

Soil, sandy soil, and rocks contain most of the elements, it’s just a matter of how much.

For example, in the Kulun Desert at this time, after testing, the gold content in the soil was about 7.6 to 8.2 parts per billion, the rhenium content was about 3.4 to 3.8 parts per billion, and the iridium content was 2.4 to 2.5 parts per billion.

But in fact, during the refining process, deviations will occur because the distribution of various elements is never uniform.

The Horqin Sandy Land, which covers an area of 42,300 square kilometers, can obtain huge resources by refining the surface soil.

Dongfeng Warrior stopped at an unremarkable sandy land. This was a relatively low-lying sandy land. Judging from the remaining soil and sand, it should have been one of the ancient river beds.

"Mr. Huang, this area is a gold-bismuth-lead composite vein with a length of 17.6 kilometers, a width of 34 to 247 meters, and a depth of 3 to 11 meters." Song Shijia, who is in charge of the mining business, pointed to the sand under his feet.

Huang Xiuyuan squatted down and grabbed a handful of sand: "How much gold does it contain?"

"It's about 0.08 to 0.12 per ton, and the reserves are about 1.2 tons. The upstream here used to be a small gold mine, and those valuable minerals have been mined."

Huang Xiuyuan was not surprised by this.

Domestic gold mines are now mainly lean ores. Gold mines with mining value usually have a gold content of about 0.5 to 3 grams per ton.

If the gold content is less than 0.5, it usually has no mining value, and the mining cost will be higher than the gold value.

In other words, Suiren Company's technology can mine this ultra-poor ore and make a profit.

Using six-cone spherical oxygen for refining, the refining efficiency is not only close to 100%, but also very energy-saving and environmentally friendly. The comprehensive refining cost of this ultra-poor ore is about 20 to 30 yuan per gram.

If it is extracted from soil, the cost is about 90 to 110 yuan per gram.

The current price of gold is more than 200 yuan. Even if it is purchased by the central bank (30% off), one gram is around 160 to 170 yuan.

Therefore, the Blue Age has eaten up a lot of waste mines. These waste mines are cheap and have certain infrastructure.

Of course, the waste mines acquired by Blue Age are all minerals containing rare resources, such as gold mines, silver mines, platinum mines, and minerals containing rhenium, iridium, rhodium, palladium, tungsten, tellurium, ruthenium, osmium, etc. Multi-element composite mineral.

For example, in the three waste copper mines contracted by Shandong Province, the rhenium content in the rocks is only about 0.0008 to 0.0011%. The mass of waste slag and stone is about 8.5 to 9.6 million tons, and it is expected that about 68 to 105.6 tons can be extracted.

We must know that the global exploitable reserves of rhenium are only about 2,500 tons, of which Chile has 1,300 tons, the United States 390 tons, Lucia 310 tons, Kazakhstan 190 tons, Armenia 95 tons, Peru 45 tons, and the Maple Leaf Country 32 tons. 91 tons in other areas.

Although China's rhenium ores have reserves of 237 tons, they are all poor ores with very poor grades. The difficulty of mining and refining is very different from high-grade ores abroad.

Among the various waste mines, tailings and ultra-lean ores purchased and contracted by Blue Age across the country, the proven rhenium ore reserves are around 736 to 982 tons.

With this quantity, it seems that there is no shortage of rhenium ore in the country.

In fact, without the Suiren Company's mining technology, these would have no mining value at all. Which mining company dares to mine such ultra-poor ores would probably lose their pants.

Because the current main use of rhenium metal is to make high-temperature-resistant materials, such as jet engine blades.

The largest producer is Chile, and the largest consumer is the United States. Therefore, the price is seriously underestimated. The current market price is only 37 to 45 yuan per gram.

For an element that is rarer than gold, the price is only about one-eighth of gold. It would be strange if there is no trick.

In fact, the same is true for domestic rare earth resources. The export price is simply cabbage price. Later, the government integrated the rare earth industry and curbed this phenomenon of low-priced resources.

Those small countries have no say in international trade and can only be manipulated by others. The price of rhenium metal is a reflection of this.

For these rare resources that are mined and refined, Huang Xiuyuan's plan is to use them as strategic reserves. Except for using some of them himself and selling them to some domestic companies that need them, the rest of the production will be used as reserves.

At present, rhenium, tungsten, molybdenum, etc. are partly used by the steel plants of Snail Industry, mainly for smelting high-temperature resistant alloys.

Under the leadership of Song Shijia, he inspected Blue Age's 17 mineral sites in the Horqin area. Although they were all ultra-poor ores, they still had mining value for Blue Age.

Since most of these mined rare resources are reserves, they will not have a significant impact on normal market prices. Unless they are stuck, the Blue Era will activate strategic reserve inventories.

For example, a large part of the rare metals used in the snail industry are purchased from foreign raw materials and domestic raw materials are used as reserves.

This approach is also commonly used in developed countries, such as resource-poor Japan and Korea, which focus on strategic reserves.

As for the United States, they deliberately do not exploit domestic resources and deliberately consume the rare resources of other countries.

The convoy stopped on a saline-alkali wasteland. Huang Xiuyuan could see the mineral exploration distribution map of the Blue Age through his laptop.

This land is a zirconium mine. Although the reserves are not small, if they are all extracted, they can reach 1.3 to 1.5 million tons. However, the grade of the minerals here is pitifully low.

Huang Xiuyuan looked at the barren land in front of him and ordered: "Sega, you can cooperate with Fengmin Agriculture to mine these ultra-poor minerals. While extracting useful minerals, you can transform them into pastures and farmland."

"clear."

"By the way, your work has been arranged and you are ready to return to Qinhuangdao."

Song Shijia nodded.

Because mining companies in the blue era are not just focusing on domestic resources.

He is also coveting foreign resources. He plans to build a mineral refining base in Qinhuangdao to import some rare resource crude ores and refine these minerals himself.

Although developed countries have long divided up the rich minerals around the world, there are still many lower-grade minerals.

Only by preliminary screening locally and then transporting these minerals back, Blue Age has a way to extract them at low cost.

Of course, this mode of purchasing lean ore and tailings is only applicable to scarce resources. For iron ore, copper ore, bauxite, etc., it is not necessary for the time being. When international prices are relatively low, you may consider buying some.
