According to the purpose, Long Totem's engineers designed a universal glass optical disk storage that combines ROM type storage and RAM type storage.

This general-purpose memory can be adjusted through software to set the internal storage area, which is divided into: fixed memory area, dynamic memory area, and running memory area.

The fixed memory area corresponds to the original ROM, the dynamic memory area corresponds to the EPROM, and the running memory area corresponds to the RAM.

The reason for adopting this configurable design is to achieve versatility, break the previous memory design scheme of mobile phones and computers, and realize that the memory of mobile phones and computers can be used universally.

And this design has another benefit.

That is to turn general storage into specialized running memory and storage memory through settings.

For example, the storage capacity of Lilong 4-1 is 72G. If it is used on a mobile phone, the Fuxi system and part of the basic software of the mobile phone can be burned into the storage, and then this part of the storage can be set as a fixed memory area.

The remaining storage capacity can be divided into part as running memory and dynamic memory.

According to the design plan of Dragon Totem, the fixed memory of the mobile phone is 4G, the running memory is 8G, and the dynamic memory is 60G. This is a universal setting.

In addition to the 4G storage of fixed memory, the remaining 68G actually allows users to set and adjust it themselves.

It’s just that the higher the proportion of running memory, the higher the energy consumption of the mobile phone. The pros and cons of this need to be weighed by the user.

As for the cheap Glass Dragon 4, the threat to hard drives and USB flash drives is very scary.

But the industry that will really take a fatal blow is actually the running memory industry, that is, Samsung, Hynix, Micron, Intel, Toshiba, and Toshiba-SanDisk, Toshiba-Western Digital.

Among them, the industry leader is Samsung, and then Hynix. After all, Samsung's anti-market cycle method is very difficult for other manufacturers to withstand vicious competition.

After all, the price of Samsung's memory sticks usually fluctuates around 30 to 40 Chinese yuan per G. The market price of an 8G memory stick can reach 240 to 320 Chinese yuan.

The cost of Dragon Totem's universal memory is about 19.7 yuan per 24G. Even if the ex-factory price of Dragon Totem is raised to 8 yuan per G, the price of a 24G universal memory is only 192 yuan.

The price difference between the two is 4 to 5 times. If Samsung and Hynix don’t receive lunch boxes, who will?

The current market price of memory sticks is due to the emergence of Ziguang, Yangtze Memory and Dragon Totem, which put pressure on Samsung and Hynix and adopted low-price methods.

If competitors fall, Samsung's 8G memory sticks will sell for thousands of dollars, and they will appear.
