The rise of nanometers

Chapter 348 Doubts about the gap

There are no eternal friends, no eternal enemies, only eternal interests - Benjamin Disraeli.

In the face of national interests, there are no friends and enemies, only naked interests.

Lucia made a lot of money from the high oil prices last year, so she naturally does not want to see oil prices plummet. The emergence of new energy sources is definitely not good news for them.

You must know that oil and gas revenue accounts for about half of their fiscal revenue, and it rose to about 58.7% last year.

In the past, the ore trade was caught off guard by the Sui people. This time they will not give up easily. Oil, gas, ore, weapons, and logs are their core industries and pillar industries. Losing an industry means that their income will be greatly reduced. .

Mao Zi, who has always been financially tight, saw that the Energy Alliance was pursuing energy self-sustainability and did not directly fall out. He already looked at the face of the ore trade, so he found an excuse to stop the supply of crude oil, hoping to take the lead in the negotiations.

It's just that the reaction of the two barrels of oil to the Skovorodino incident was somewhat beyond Maozi's expectations.

Snowy Transbaikal Territory.

Chita Prefecture.

On the roof of an office building, a sign reading "Lucia Petroleum Company Far East Branch" was erected.

This branch is specifically responsible for oil and gas exploration and sales in the Far East. Its core business is the Taina Line crude oil transportation pipeline.

Due to its high latitude in the northern hemisphere, the days here are short in winter.

At about ten o'clock in the morning, Andreev, the president of the Far East Branch, arrived belatedly with a belly that looked like he had been pregnant for ten months.

As soon as he sat down, his secretary poured him a cup of hot Guatemalan coffee.

"What's the reaction from the south?"

The secretary handed the reply document from the Daqing branch to Andreev: "Mr. President, this is what I just responded to this morning."

After looking through Yevgraf's situation report, Andreev looked suspicious. He took a sip of hot coffee and ordered: "Go and notify Karl and Lucas to come to my office."

"Okay." The secretary nodded.

Twenty minutes later.

Inside the office.

A thin middle-aged man and a bald bearded man sat in front of Andreev.

"What do you think?"

The thin man gently flipped through the document, then opened the laptop he carried with him and searched for today's news, especially news about the global crude oil market and the situation in China.

After reading all the news, the skinny man also frowned: "It's so strange. This doesn't meet our previous expectations."

"Could it be that the other party is pretending to be calm?" The bald bearded man's eyes flickered.

The skinny man shook his head: "Impossible. This kind of thing can be deceived for a while, but not forever. If it is fake, they won't be able to sustain it for half a year, and there will be a shortage of crude oil supply."

This is also one of Andreev's doubts: "Karl, how much crude oil reserves do they have?"

"According to data from our various crude oil producers, they over-imported about 97 million tons of crude oil last year. This should be their entire reserve. If their local oil fields are included, they can supply about 200 million tons per year." The thin man Karl, flipping through the information, then said:

"Even if they increase the exploitation of local oil fields, they can increase production by up to 30 to 40 million tons a year. Last year, the amount of crude oil they consumed was 470 million tons, and this year it is expected to reach about 500 million tons. There is still a gap of 150 to 160 million tons. .”

After Andreev heard this, his eyes became more confused: "Can they complete the transition from fuel vehicles to gas vehicles in one year?"

Karl shook his head directly: "Impossible. According to relevant data, their current number of motor vehicles is 225 million, of which 196 million are fuel vehicles. Let alone 196 million vehicles be renovated within a year, even if they renovate 30 million It’s enough for a car.”

"Then where are they going to find 150 million tons of crude oil to fill this gap?"

According to the previous domestic crude oil consumption structure, the main consumption was diesel and gasoline, which together reached about 230 million tons.

But there are many other items, including 18.38 million tons of kerosene, 33.09 million tons of fuel oil, about 24 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas, and about 30 million tons of asphalt. The rest is the consumption of chemicals and reserves.

This is the situation from 2008 to 2010.

Since 2011, the domestic crude oil consumption structure has undergone a quiet change.

The first is the consumption of liquefied petroleum gas. Although the consumption of liquefied petroleum gas has increased significantly, in fact, the source of this part of liquefied petroleum gas is not refined from crude oil, but extracted from organic waste.

Similarly, in terms of fuel oil, it is used for power generation and boilers. After the impact of high oil prices last year, the national consumption of fuel oil dropped to less than 18 million tons, and will continue to decline this year.

This year's gasoline consumption is expected to drop to about 55 million tons; diesel consumption is expected to drop to about 110 million tons; kerosene consumption remains stable at 18 million tons.

The reason why gasoline and diesel prices have dropped significantly is mainly due to the promotion of temperature difference waste heat recovery systems. Under the pressure of high oil prices, car owners will accelerate the renovation of their cars. Even if they do not change the gas, they will also install temperature difference waste heat recovery.

In other words, the country's overall crude oil consumption will drop by 109 million tons this year.

This is an accurate calculation made by the Energy Alliance under the pressure of high oil prices. This number is still a minimum number. Once the public's sense of crisis increases, this number will even increase further.

As a result, the so-called crude oil supply gap of 150 to 160 million tons is actually only a gap of 50 to 60 million tons.

Coupled with some of the refined oil previously deducted from the export of refined oil, as well as the supply of coal-to-liquid and shale oil, the coal chemical industry offsets the demand for part of the crude oil chemical industry.

There is no shortage of crude oil in China now. As the output of coal chemicals, coal-to-liquids, shale oil and gas, biomass fuels, and toner increases, the proportion of crude oil in the domestic energy and chemical industry’s consumption structure will gradually decrease.

This is also thanks to the tens of millions of tons of shale oil sent by Goldman Sachs, which has enabled the country to reserve sufficient crude oil and achieve self-sufficiency in crude oil in the transitional stage.

Andreev and Karl, who were thinking hard, felt that something was very wrong, but they didn't know what the problem was.

In fact, this will also benefit from the Energy Alliance’s “smoke bomb plan”.

At the beginning of the plan, Song Shijia estimated that information might be leaked within the petroleum department, so they formulated a plan.

Only a few managers within the petroleum department knew about this, and none of the people below knew the details.

They deliberately made false accounts to create a situation of "filling their own pockets" and secretly sold a lot of crude oil in stock, which was actually transferred to the oil depot of the "Underground Great Wall".

Then they spread false news, exaggerate the number of reserves, or provide a reasonable excuse for secretly increasing production in local oil fields.

Throughout 2011, various gossips were flying inside the domestic petroleum department, resulting in externally collected data that was either incomplete, half true or false, or ambiguous.

The water was completely muddied, causing Goldman Sachs to misjudge a lot of important information.

In addition to Southern Petrochemical and Northern Petrochemical, these two companies have Sui people to guard them tightly, and the information is even more airtight.

Now Andreev and others are at a loss. They can only make a rough estimate through some public data and come up with a gap of 150 to 160 million tons.

They were confused, but other crude oil producers did not stop their actions.
