The rise of nanometers

Chapter 598 Tianmen No.

After Huang Xiuyuan and the management of the aerospace system completed the ideological unification and the arrangement of strategic tasks.

The aerospace system has also re-stabilized military morale. Although Ye Yaowen and others cannot speak out about controllable nuclear fusion technology, it is still possible to appease and silence some people.

Although it seems a bit arbitrary, the management of the aerospace system is also very confident after learning about the controllable nuclear fusion technology.

After all, they know everything about what controlled nuclear fusion means.

Social productivity will rapidly increase by an order of magnitude under the catalysis of controllable nuclear fusion technology. As productivity increases, the overall cost of spacecraft will decrease by an order of magnitude.

The current comprehensive aerospace cost in Greater China is only about 21% of NASA's, and the gap between the two sides will become wider and wider.

Lin Guangchao and Ye Yaowen were in Wenchang Aerospace City at this time. After the two held a virtual meeting, they immediately prepared for the launch of the third Chang-13 carrier rocket.

If the third Chang-13 is successfully launched, the other two Chang-13 carrier rockets at the Rizhao Factory will also quickly complete the final assembly work and then be transported to Wenchang Space City for launch.

The test type was 13mm long, and a total of 5 were built, all of which were tested.

Chang 13 is a launch vehicle with a modular design. It is divided into five major parts, namely the core first stage, left booster, right booster, core second stage and core third stage.

Among them, except for the core level one, which is a fixed power module, the remaining left and right boosters, the core level two, and the core level three are not fixed modules, but have several versions.

If the low-Earth orbit assembly model is adopted, in addition to the core level, the other four large modules can be freely matched according to needs and tasks.

The maximum payload to the moon can reach 940 tons, which is about 10 times that of the current Golden Wings Dapeng + Long 11.

On the other side, Mobei Space City is taking advantage of the fact that it has not yet snowed, and the autumn air is crisp and cloudless. It is preparing to build its second low-Earth orbit space station, the Tianmen Space Station, between October and November.

The Tianmen Space Station is not a scientific research space station, but a port-type space station.

This space station was specially developed and designed to assemble the Chang 13. The design work was completed in March this year, and the construction of the first batch of space capsules was also completed in September.

The scale of the Tianmen Space Station is huge. The first phase is expected to reach 8,500 to 9,000 tons. It can realize on-orbit assembly, fueling, material transfer, and personnel transfer of a 13-meter-long space station.

The orbit of this behemoth is different from the three low-Earth orbit space stations currently operating in orbit. Its altitude is in an orbit of 650 to 680 kilometers.

This operating altitude was chosen to reduce the space station's fall into the atmosphere.

Because the altitude of the spacecraft is less than 600 kilometers, it is easily affected by gravity and gas molecules, causing the altitude of the orbit to drop little by little.

Whether it is the International Space Station, Tiangong Space Station, or Noah's Ark Space Station, auxiliary engines must be started regularly to raise the height of the space station and correct the operating altitude.

The Tianmen, which has a huge mass, may become larger and larger in the future. If the orbital altitude needs to be corrected frequently, it will obviously require a lot of fuel, which is not conducive to the long-term and efficient operation of the space station.

Therefore, an orbital altitude of 650 kilometers was adopted to ensure that there is no need to frequently correct the altitude within its service life.

According to the first-stage design, the appearance of the Tianmen space station is arranged in a "mesh" shape, with the assembly area in the middle and the parking areas on both sides for the convenience of material transport spacecraft.

The assembly process is also very simple. You only need to send the 13-part module to the Tianmen assembly area in sequence.

Then Tianmen can use equipment to fine-tune each module with a length of 13 to complete the assembly work. The next step is to refuel, replenish supplies, and then add astronauts, and then it can go to the moon.

Although the fuel supply and material transfer of large spacecrafts also take time, 940 tons of materials can be transported to the moon at one time, which is definitely a very considerable amount.

If you encounter an emergency, you can also use Long 11 or Long 12 as compensation.

Currently, 85 and 46 reusable Long 11 and Long 12 pieces have been manufactured in Greater China.

As the Tanegashima Space City in Japan, the Nansha Space City in the South China Sea, and the Dasha Space City in Western Australia are put into use one after another, the number of Chang 11 and Chang 12 will further increase.

In addition, there are currently 12 Golden Wing Dapengs in service, and 6 more are being manufactured in the factory. With the increase of the space city, they will gradually enter the aerospace system and serve.

The last day of September.

In Space City, Florida.

The improved Falcon Heavy launch vehicle has been erected and has completed its final inspection work.

Inside the command center of Space City.

Elon Musk is facing the camera and talking with CNN's beautiful reporter Linda.

"President Musk, this is the third launch of the Falcon Heavy and the first mission to the moon. Are you confident?"

Musk replied in a confident tone: "Of course! There is no doubt that I believe my team is the best."

Although she sneered in her heart, Linda still said with a smile:

"It seems that President Musk is very confident, so let us wait and see. By the way, I heard that your company is planning to develop the Super Falcon. Can you disclose the specific parameters?"

"Haha, of course..."

Before he could finish speaking, the radio from the command center rang.

[Launch enters countdown 10...8...]

Musk spread his hands: "Let's look at the launch first, and we'll talk about other issues later."

"OK." Linda turned around and asked the photographer to turn the camera in the previously agreed direction to broadcast live broadcast of some situations in the command center to the world.

[...2...0, launch! ]

The parallel engine of the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle sprays out powerful flames to push the launch vehicle upward.

In the viewing area a few kilometers away from the launch site, many locals and tourists were cheering loudly.

However, the good times did not last long. As soon as the launch vehicle rose about 400 meters, one of the engines lost control.

Since the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle uses a parallel engine design, the complex engine control has become a huge hidden danger.

In an instant, the launch vehicle tilted to the south, and something even more terrifying happened. The launch vehicle suddenly tilted while other engines were still executing established procedures, which caused the flight trajectory to be completely out of control.

In less than five seconds, the Falcon launch vehicle plunged into the sea not far away, instantly causing a violent explosion on the sea.

Under the light of the fire, Musk's face darkened.

The tragic circumstances of this launch were also broadcast live online and appeared in front of global audiences.

The command center was also filled with gloom and gloom. The engineers began to discuss in worried voices in low voices, and Musk no longer cared about the interview. His phone rang one after another.

This time the Falcon Heavy was carrying no astronauts, but it was supplies to be sent to the moon base.

Now the supplies are sent directly to the sea, and it will take at least a month to prepare the second Falcon Heavy and the supplies.

NASA had no choice but to activate an emergency plan and let Boeing use the Neptune-6 heavy-lift launch vehicle to send a batch of supplies to the moon.

It's just that Boeing's Neptune 6 has only been launched twice, one success and one failure, and the lunar payload is only about 12 tons.

Now we can only pray that Neptune 6 can be launched successfully.
