The Rise Of Park Yejoon

Chapter 17 - Advertis.e.m.e.nt

People watched the 5-minute music video which was based on the 3-minute song.

People watched from the beginning to the end and were flabbergasted at the quality of this video. Such amazing scenes which contained little to no flaws and a song which perfectly fit the theme. The video was seamless and contained no awkward cuts. The filming and editing team were truly astounding.

He was acting a part in the music video that showed his sorrow, his confusion, and his suffering. He truly embodied the words, it isn't in my blood. When

"Help me, it's like the walls are caving in

Sometimes I feel like giving up"

came, he showed his helplessness and grief.

The full three-minute length, he totally embodied the role of a helpless yet anxious man. That's right, a man. A man who had more life experience than a boy his age should have. An individual that felt things a boy could not. Someone who could relate and sympathize with people that currently felt emotions that could not be explained but represented the lyrics.

Yejoon who had only seen the unedited shots was astonished upon seeing the video.

He pointed a finger towards the screen,

"Is that me?"

The finalized product was unquestionably improved, so much so that even the main star of the video could not recognize himself in those scenes.

Everyone present chuckled. They were all feeling comfortable in each other's presence and moments like these were what brightened their day.

In a flash, the video ended and everyone seeing the film was slightly disappointed it ended.

Those who were in the bathroom at the time of the streaming cursed their luck. By all means, they certainly could replay it however it was not the same atmosphere as attending it live. It was the same as watching a soccer game and seeing the goal live rather than just watching it in highlights. The feeling was not the same.

Those who were beside Yejoon clapped at told him how amazing the video was. They were all gratified and felt pride from knowing such a character. Some couldn't wait to boast about it to other people *COUGH* his parents *COUGH*

Sanghoon playfully rubbed his head and Mingyu elbowed him blithely.

Yejoon was quite embarrassed and rubbed his head nervously while thanking them profusely. The rest of the night passed quite quickly as they chatted while eating at a high-class restaurant with five stars quality.

The elegant moon illuminated the dark night and created a pleasant mood.

--------------------

Days passed and there was not a single day where Yejoon was not bothered. He was given offers for ads, appearances, and contracts which included almost slave-like arrangements. Yejoon was particularly irritated and disturbed by these deals.

However, although there were some insincere deals that were only probing their luck, there were also genuine, straightforward ones.

He showed his contracts to his mother and sent them to XXX. He was recommended to choose offers for advertis.e.m.e.nt modeling to make his face known around the world. Yejoon completely agreed with this idea and chose the most genuine and sincere contract he could find.

The company that offered the deal was a subsidiary of a huge sports based business that sold sports or energy drinks. This sports business was basically 'Nike' in this world. In this world, it grew because it had gotten lucky and was sponsored by a successful entertainer. This set off a chain of events that completely made the business boom.

The sports drink company, subsidiary of the sports business, wanted him to be part of their new advertis.e.m.e.nt which would sell one of their new drinks. They were sure it would do quite great because the response from the tasters was quite positive. It was also very high quality and did not have many competitors.

They offered him 800 dollars per commercial production day and depending on how much the company received, they would give him his dividends. They would also give him a six month supply of their energy drinks and a discount for all the products of the whole business. This included things from other subsidiary companies like clothes, training equipment, (sports) shoes, and even more. This business also had a subsidiary firm that sold 'hypebeast' clothing. Yejoon was sure that if he asked, he would absolutely be delivered a few as a gift.

Yejoon contacted the company and told him he wished to work with them. The company was actually quite big so it would unmistakably make others recognize him more easily.

The spokesperson showed his joy through the phone and told him the location where they would record the commercial.

They would start recording Saturday, continue Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The company had already scripted, prepared, and agreed on what to do. All Yejoon had to do was follow the script and satisfy the standards. Without a doubt, they still expected him to do a good job. They had seen what he's able to do and expected good shoots from him.

Yejoon however, did not feel the pressure. He was confident and his Will stat was a part of his conviction. He truly believed he would be able to do exactly what the company asked him to do. Though a little inexperienced piece of him questioned whether he would be able to, he shot down those thoughts by arguing he had already made a near faultless music video his first try.

He was sent the script through email and began practicing it.

It was currently Friday and he would have to be there at 11 AM. There, he would be told what clothes to wear, some makeup and tell him what they wanted his body language, his facial expressions, his entire being to show.

The acting was not just following the script and doing some minimal things. No, acting was being part of the role. It was living another life that you had been given. It was integrating completely into a role, a different personality, and showing exactly what your clients wanted you to reveal.

Yejoon practiced the rest of the afternoon while taking a few breaks in between.

Tomorrow, he would HAVE to be ready.

"Beginner's luck.." an eerie voice that was inside him called out gently. Yejoon wanted to ignore those thoughts.

'What is wrong with me?' Yejoon was panicking inside.

'Could it be the mixing of souls side effect?' he questioned yet the answer did not come. He was feeling increasingly anxious and scared.

He muttered out loud, "can I really do it?"

He was in a part of life where he doubted himself. He questioned whether he could or not. He had turned from the mentally over 20 years old man to a lone child.

He hugged his knees while sitting on the floor.

His anxiousness was true. He had been doubting himself ever since he came to this world; he had never achieved such a level of prestige in his past life. Although he had everything he wanted and the drive, his mentality faulted sometimes. He had tried to push away the negative thoughts talking with close people. This time, he just felt like being alone and did not have any want to talk about it with anyone else.

Anxiousness was a poison. It whittled away your drive slowly and removed any chance of getting rid of it through even questioning if other people had the time and patience for you.

Ever since he came to this world, he truly did not know if he could. His confidence that seemed like an unshakeable might was actually truly just a wave. It came and went. It burst with power and receded gently as if afraid to erode the cliff it just crashed into.

Doubting himself, his thoughts spiraled into oblivion and slowly planted itself like a small seed.
