The Saint's Trial: Can He Resist Their Charm!?

3rd week of Spring at the Fantasy World

It has been 2 hours since Hiroto fell asleep. He and Saeko are lucky that there aren't any frog monsters around. It is their mating season during spring so they come to attack human settlements and livestock for food. They usually roam around to find something to eat, and bury themselves on the ground after their mating season to protect themselves from nature.*

(A/N: I have decided to put the goddamn toad's mating season in springtime. Researchers found out that the frog's mating season starts in early springtime until July. It was researched by some curious Scientists from Connecticut and the Spring season there starts from March 19 - June 20. Meaning there are still frogs trying to find their mates at Early Summer.)

Saeko is currently looking at Hiroto's face while brushing her slender hands against his hair. From time to time, she would look at him with a look of a maiden in love.

"You know Hiro, I'm really grateful to you. You have no idea how your mere presence in my life has changed me. I don't know if this can be called love but one this is for sure, I don't want to leave your side," Saeko muttered with a touch of melancholy in her voice. What she said to Eris was true, she is a girl born from a broken family. Her mother never took care of her and just drank bottles of liquor all day. She sometimes thought of ending her life because of the hardsh.i.p.s she faced and have to face in the future.

"That day when we met, I was lost in thought of what to do with my life. My mother never wanted to take care of me and my aunt was the one who tried to give me work so I can somehow live and have my own allowance. Going back to those memories now, I was really lucky to have met you. Though, you're so dense that you never noticed my feelings towards you," Saeko said. Although her first words were filled with bitterness and sorrow, the latter words were full of happiness and a bit of helplessness.

What she didn't know was, Hiroto heard her words. He already woke up a few minutes ago but decided to pretend that he was still sleeping. He was reluctant to leave this heavenly feeling. Her slender hands brushing his hair, warm gaze that sometimes change into a loving one, and the soft and heavenly feeling of her l.a.p. Listening to her words and after getting back his memories, he finally understood what that gaze she was giving him for a few months now meant.

'So this is what it feels to receive love from a person other than your parents huh. It feels sweet and fluffy," Hiroto thought. He just got back his memories so he is feeling a bit dizzy from experiencing this kind of phenomenon. He died, got reincarnated, got hurt by a 4 years old girl, got a heart attack because of puppy love, got transmigrated, died, and reincarnated again. It was such a ridiculous development that he can't figure out whether it was a good thing or a bad thing. While he was thinking about all this, a cute, bell-like voice interrupted his thoughts.

‹Heee, so Host likes this girl huh? Oh right! Nice to meet you Host! I am the System Fairy that can manage your Menu! And you can also ask me anything! I have tons of knowledge, you know?›

At first, Hiroto was bewildered but then remembered hearing this bell-like voice before he lost consciousness.

'Are you the one that spoke up before I lost consciousness?" he asked.

‹Hai, hai! Although, I have to tell you that I was not the one who spoke in a robotic voice okay?! It was the voice of the Menu telling you that the integration is starting!› the so-called System Fairy said energetically.

'Heh, so what can a cute Fairylike you do?' he asked. He can swear that he saw a little girl, platinum shoulder-length hair with rainbow colors on the tip, looking at him with a pout and a 'menacing' glare. It would have been scary if not for her looking like a state of the art doll.

‹Hmph, you are belittling me, Host! I can do a lot of things you know? Like, like, ummm... I can help you arrange your equipment in order, loot the monsters you killed 1m around you, advise you, and then I can also attack monsters if I evolved!› she said with so much enthusiasm.

Hearing about her evolving, he almost wanted to shout out, 'What are you a Pokemon?!'

‹Oh and I almost forgot! I am also the one who tells you whether you got a quest or something! It will be posted in the Quests Section of your Menu!› the System Fairy said.

'What about that evolution thingy? How can you 'evolve'?' he asked.

‹Oh, that? I can evolve once you defeat a Raid Class Boss monster, a Protagonist Class, or an Antagonist Class person!› the Fairy said.

'Wait, what do you mean by Protagonist Class?' he asked, bewildered.

‹Hmm? Didn't you get back your memories by now? You know, those Main Characters of a Story in your world!› she replied.

'I know that there are Protagonists out there but what's with the Class?' Hiroto asked again. He hasn't heard of this Class thing.

‹Oh that? That's how you can classify the monsters and humans of this world. It is Common, Trained, Expert, Master, Grandmaster and the Class unique to those people that are portrayed as the Main Character in the Akashic Records World! There are also a classification on monsters such as; Common, Mini-Boss, Boss, Raid Boss, Behemoth and the Mythical Beasts that are similar to the Protagonists. They are also depicted in some stories in the Akashic Records World!› the Fairy answered him matter of factly.

'Akashic Records World? Where is that?' Hiroto, again, asked. System Fairy was not annoyed by his continuous questions and just answered his questions with enthusiasm.

‹It's your the world you were previously in silly! Didn't you notice that there is a whole lot of stories in your world? It is because that world is where the Akashic Records reside. Sometimes, some knowledge from there leaks out. Which leads to a person coincidentally receiving that knowledge. Some of them decided to write a story about it while some of them told it to their descendants. That's why some stories are changed. I heard that the keeper of that place is a lazy bum!› the Fairy said with her long speech.

'Oh! Then why is he the keeper then? Isn't it bad if all the knowledge leak out?!' Hiroto exclaimed.

‹I don't know! The knowledge I have are planted to me by the God of Creation. So technically, I am still a baby!› the Fairy exclaimed.

‹Oh right! You haven't named me yet!›

'Name huh. Since you are so loud and energetic I'm gonna name you Ariel*!' he said.

(A/N: came from the Hebrew word Ari'el which means 'Lion of God'. Had to search for a great name for our cute pie System Fairy)

‹Hey! What do you mean by loud! I'm not loud!› the Fairy, now named Ariel, exclaimed.

'That's what I'm talking about. Anyway, we'll talk about this Menu and stuff later. Saeko will worry if I don't get up soon,' Hiroto said while smiling wryly.

‹'Kaaayy! I'm gonna go study the knowledge imparted to me! So later I can help you with your future adventures!› she said

'Hahaha, okay Ariel-chan. I'm gonna talk to you later!' Hiroto said before slowly opening his eyes.

While Hiroto was conversing with Ariel-chan in his mind, he didn't notice Saeko getting lost in her own world. She's looking at his face, then got lost in thought.

'I wonder why? I'm just getting lost looking at his lips,' Saeko thought. She didn't notice her face getting closer and closer to Hiroto's. When her face was a few centimeters away from Hiroto's face, Hiroto's eyes suddenly opened up.

"Eh?" that's the only thing that came out of Hiroto's lips when he saw Saeko's face near his. Looking at her, he couldn't help but remember how much this girl feels for him.

'How can I be so dense? I was like this in my past life that I died as a v.i.r.g.i.n and no girlfriend since birth! This girl, I can feel that she really likes me,' he thought while subconsciously reaching out his hands towards her cheeks. Saeko's body twitched for a moment before relaxing again. A picturesque scene of a beautiful lady and a handsome young man flirting in the grasslands.*

(A/N: Dammit, I'm getting jealous of my own MC. Riajuus really have it easy. I'll see in the comments if you guys feel the same. And if you remember what Tannin taught to him at the side story. He can feel whether a person feels hostility toward him. But now that he mastered it, he can feel the other emotions aside from hostility that others have towards him too)

Holding Saeko's face, Hiroto got lost looking at her eyes. He can see the love and worry in them. He slowly closed the distance between their lips. Just as their lips were about to touch, an energetic voice interrupted his advances.

‹Oh right, I forgot to tell you Host! You have a beginner's pack inside your Inventory right now! Want to open it?!› Ariel-chan said. Annoyed by her sudden interruption, Hiroto said,

'Ariel-chan, let's talk about this later ok?'

‹Oops, sorry about that Host. I didn't know you're in the middle of an 'important business,› Ariel-chan said, like a child who succeeded in her prank. Sensing the playfulness in her words, Hiroto just ignored it and just noted in his mind to punish this little prankster when she got her physical body.

Noticing that Hiroto stopped midway, Saeko was alarmed and disappointed. Hiroto noticed this and he didn't waste time. He closed the distance between their lips right away and planted his lips on top of hers.

'Who would have thought that I will experience losing my first kiss twice?' he thought.*

(A/N: Everybody knows that he lost his first kiss on the DxD world and got transferred to Kazuma's Original World. He died there so he basically got a new body and so, the lucky man experienced losing his first kiss twice.)

Saeko was so happy that her beloved finally showed her that he too has feelings for her. She decided to preserve this memory inside her mind forever.

They continued kissing for who knows how long. Both of them never paid attention to their surroundings and didn't notice a huge pink toad going to their direction. It was hopping and bouncing energetically like it found its long lost lover.*

(A/N: Hahaha, I just want to describe it like that. Imagine a big biiigg Momma running towards her long lost lover. That's what I imagined when I was writing this lol.)

Hiroto and Saeko were still immersed in their own world when Hiroto heard a familiar voice ringing in his mind.

'What!?' Hiroto was bewildered and he got up and looked around.

Noticing that Hiroto stopped kissing her, Saeko was puzzled and disappointed at the same time. She looked at Hiroto who was looking in a certain direction. Looking at the same direction Hiroto was staring at, she saw a huge pink frog hopping about straight towards their direction. It's only about 100m away from them. So, Saeko took her bow which was beside her and aimed.

Noticing Saeko holding a bow, he looked at it and couldn't help but ask Ariel about it.

'Hey Ariel-chan, what is that bow that Saeko is holding? I think I saw it somewhere.'

‹Oh, that one? Its name is Artemis's Bow. Its current effects are increased damage against demons and devils!› Ariel answered.

'Oh yeah, can you open my beginner's pack now? I don't have a weapon right now so I'll need it. Also, can you show me my status?*' he said, asking the cute System Fairy politely.

(A/N: Remember, he didn't pick any weapon on the list that Eris gave him. He can't fight a toad with shock resistance without a weapon)

‹Okie Dokie Host,› Ariel complied.

‹I will equip your sword using the Equipment function on the Menu. Before I show you your status, I recommend that you drink the Bloodline Identification Potion first. I and the Menu cannot identify even 1 of your bloodline because of our low level,› Ariel said honestly.

While Ariel was saying that, an ordinary Iron Sword suddenly appeared in his hands. He hurriedly grasped the hilt before he called out the Menu, mentally clicked the 'Inventory' section, looked for the Bloodline Identification Potion, and clicked 'Use'. Then *poof* a white-colored potion appeared out of nowhere. He inspected it for a few seconds before drinking it, he didn't notice his body glowing for a brief moment.

While Hiroto was doing all this. Saeko was firing light arrows at the pink frog. She would aim her bow at it, pull the bowstring, and an arrow made of light would magically appear in her grasp. She was still shocked inside her mind but didn't pay any more attention to it for now because of the situation they are currently in.
