The Search For The Reincarnated Queen

Chapter 1 - Rise and Shine after 500 years

It's been 500 years since he last opened his eyes, but the pain never ceases to leave him. With every breath in his long slumber, his heart aches for his beloved who took her last breath in his arms along with the child they were supposed to have.

Taylan René Eilam Haima, the vampire king who took his rest for half millennium, wakes up again in our generation full of advanced science and technology. He sits in his coffin with his elbow resting on the edge, while covering his eyes from the light coming from the uncovered part of the window. His eyes landed on the clear blue sky. He saw the tall buildings and heard strange noises outside. As he tries to avoid the last memory of his Queen someone entered the room.

"My liege, you have awakened," a warm voice spoke.

Taylan turned his head and saw Rein, his guard, who looks so happy that he began to tear.

"My liege, I am honored to see you again. It's been 500 years."

Taylan looks at Rein coldly. He wishes he never woke up in this world where his Queen doesn't exist. Slowly, he got out of his coffin and looks around the room. This place doesn't look like the castle, but his things are all here. The closet, the bookshelf, the picture frames, and their crowns.

These things reminded him of his Queen as he grinds his teeth in anger and threw Rein a cold striking stare, "Where are the others?" he asked under his breath. He needs to find her again - that is why he chose to rest, he cannot bear to live those long years without her. "We need to find my Queen before it's too late."

Rein nodded his head, "I shall summon them, but please, follow me. You have to drink at least, My liege." He opened the door widely for his master while looking down on the cold floor. He cannot bear to look at his master's face, apart from for his respect, but also because he knows how much pain his master's carrying.

After the Queen's death, their King was never the same until he decided to sleep until the Queen's reincarnation occurs. Now that he's awakened, they have to make sure that the Queen doesn't fall into the enemy's hand or else, this will be the destruction of the Haima blood and vampires will no longer exist. Once the Queen, the one who gives the King his life, power and, blood, will go against her beloved, Taylan will die along with his servants who depend on his power as well.

"What kind of blood will be equal to my Queen's? I will never drink any blood unless it is hers," Taylan walks past Rein, "Just give me anything except blood."

Rein sighs while watching Taylan drink the tea he brewed himself. He made sure to give his King the freshest herbs to cool down his temper and avoided giving him coffee since the Queen likes it so much that Taylan may end up grumpier than before.

"My lord!" Cried a young boy as he runs towards Taylan then stops in front of him to kneel, "I am grateful to see you!"

"My king." two muscular men greeted Taylan and bowed.

"My liege," a man with a beautiful face showed up, "How's your sleep?" He smiled and bowed.

"King," another man with dark brown hair and dazzling smile bowed, "Welcome back."

Taylan stops sipping his tea and looks at each of them starting with the young boy. He called their name one by one. Their normal "human" looks then turned into the vampire they are.

"Macky," he said and the young boy's eyes turned red.

"Jade, Dane," he turned to the large men and their eyes then turned to blood red.

"Willow, Trace," the two gorgeous men smirked as their eyes turn back to normal color.

"Reinold," Taylan lastly called his guard, "I'm back."

Though it is supposed to be a warm welcome, Taylan doesn't seem to be happy. There's no hint of gladness nor excitement in his face. All his servants look down. None of them can handle their lord's grief, and they also, cannot bear to remember how painful it is for them to watch their King perish with the Queen's cold dead body on his hands, especially that she's carrying the next kin.

"Have you gathered information about who she might be now?" Taylan asks as he sips his tea again.

Rein shakes his head lightly, "My liege, since this is the first reincarnation of the Queen, we apologize, we cannot trace her existence as of yet."

A loud thud echoed around the room when Taylan dropped the teacup on the table and stood up. They can all feel his anger. The room was quiet and tensed until Taylan spoke again.

"Macky," he looks at the young boy and immediately, he runs to Taylan and kneeled, "Tell me everything in this world." He commanded and put his hand over Macky's head.

Every information that has happened in the world while he was in his deep sleep was shared through Macky's mind. It is the young boy's job to gather every tiny bit of information that ever existed for their King. It is said that he is as smart as the King, however, as a child, there are things that he cannot understand that only Taylan can fully comprehend.

As the last information about the recent happening about the new workers in the library that is owned by Rein where they are residing in sips into Taylan's mind, Macky lost his consciousness. Jade catches Macky before hitting the floor and picked him up.

"Take him to his room and let him rest," Taylan ordered and walks towards Rein, "Why a library? There are a lot of other businesses! You know how much it reminds me of her!" His voice almost made them go deaf, not because of it's volume but because of it's power and energy.

Rein's knees began to weaken as his master's shouting right in front of him. "I apologize, My liege, I thought the Queen might appear here again since you met her first in the castle's library," he answered with a trembling and weak voice.

With the remainder of the first meeting, Taylan's anger began to subside as melancholy began taking over him. How can he forget that moment when she was quietly sneaking around, looking for novels about vampires and beasts, in his library. He was only watching and following her with invisibility, but his heart then began chasing the thief of novels.

He snapped out of his memories when he smelled the most exquisite blood among all - v.i.r.g.i.n's blood. "Who let a v.i.r.g.i.n work here?" he asks as he opens the door to find out who that person is and saw two young people talking while arranging the books down in the library.

"They are only part-timers and we only get to see them for three hours. They are students of the nearby university. Don't worry, they know nothing and will know nothing." Willow answered as the gaze upon the two students.

"Good afternoon, Sir Rein," the two smiled at Rein who's already downstairs.

"Eli, Ben, how's your class?"

Eli, the girl with black straight hair and brown eyes smiled energetically, "I failed my quizzes!" she proudly proclaims.

Ben and Rein wrinkled their faces. Since they know Eli for a while now, they can feel that she's not feeling well and only hides her frustrations.

Ben laughed and slaps Eli's back, "Good job!" he said and keeps on slapping Eli's back to make her forget her quizzes.

"Stop that, Ben, you might break her back." Rein sighed and went to check the books that are not yet arranged.

Taylan observes the two and turns to Trace who's staring at Eli, watching her every move and listening to her every word.

"But who's the v.i.r.g.i.n between the two?" Taylan asks since the fragrance is bothering him. He promised himself that he will never drink anyone's blood unless it is the Queen's and to be near a v.i.r.g.i.n's blood can be dangerous for that pledge.

"The girl, Eli. She's the one." Trace answers and turned his gaze away when Eli saw them upstairs.

'Eli...' Taylan repeats her name, 'I'll avoid her at all cost until I find my love.'
