Back to Katarina’s house.

“We will never eat it.”

Katarina held back her laughter at Gretel, who looked more serious than ever.

Gretel hated frozen food.

It’s because it is not good for one’s health.

On my way home from work, I stopped by the lab and asked them to melt it unnoticeably.

But it’s not frozen food, it’s frozen meat. The two were drastically different. Katarina, who was happy to get free meat, responded kindly to Gretel.

“Gretel, this isn’t frozen food, it’s frozen meat. Besides, the meat wouldn’t have gone bad because it was frozen in an instant and melted properly.”

“No!”

Why does Gretel make such a loud noise? If it were normal, Katarina would have said, “If you don’t want to eat, don’t eat.”

But Gretel was screaming at her with his eyes wide open. Surprised at first sight, Katarina stared at Gretel with her round and silent eyes.

The child looked angry for a moment, but soon dropped the ends of his eyebrows and wept.

Well, Gretel can’t believe he yelled at his teacher.

I guess… I knew I was wrong. Katarina thought about whether to properly scold him or soothe him due to her own mistakes.

“I didn’t know Katarina was working so hard.”

“Huh?”

Katarina, who was lost in thought, made such an impression because she didn’t know what English phrase he had just said, and nodded at Gretel, who alternately looked at her two right arms and breathed a sigh while tears flows from his eyes.

“Oh, it was a little dangerous today.”

If it were a witch with little experience in the field, she would have been stuck. But she just made a mistake because it’s been a while since she had been dispatched in the field.

I’m getting embarrassed for no reason. Katarina scratched her chin awkwardly.

“Show me the wound.”

“It’s all right now.”

It’s just a separation magic, so there’s nothing to hurt. But because of how persistent Gretel was, Katarina had to roll up her short-sleeved T-shirt sleeves to show him.

Gretel gently swept down her shoulder, which had no sign of being attached again. Tears are gathering in his big eyes.

“Did it hurt a lot?”

It hurt. It hurted a lot. However, she never wanted to show her weakness in front of a child who didn’t even reach her waist.

“It’s okay. It happens a lot.” Katarina said, restoring the sleeves.

“It happens often?”

He opened his eyes and quickly continued his words.

“I want to follow Katarina.”

Katarina looked at Gretel clenching her fist a little bigger than the cat’s feet. He seems to have made up his mind, but he only smiles.

“No, it’s dangerous.”Katarina said as she tried to make a solemn expression.

“It’s also dangerous for Katarina. So… When can I start working?”

“You…”

When you grow as tall as I am. Katarina tried to say that, but she shut up.

Before Gretel grows up that much, she must leave the child to a far away place. Katarina hasn’t told that to Gretel yet.

“I want to hang out with Katarina. Katarina said I’m good at magic.”

It is often common for young witches to follow their teachers to work, but in Gretel’s case, there was a very big reason why they couldn’t.

Gretel is a man. He is a mutant. If they get caught by other witches, they might both get burned.

But if I say it like this, he’ll cry again. It is annoying to take care of a crying child, but Gretel’s tears especially moves her heart. Katarina sighed deeply.
