Time Traveling Hero

Chapter 2 - Unnamed Boy Meets Silver Haired Girl PT.2

"Here you go big bro! I know how much you like my home cooking, so I went all out today!" said my cute little sister, wearing an apron.

She set down a pan covered with foil onto the table. I could already feel my mouth watering in anticipation.

She ripped the foil off to reveal...!

"Tada! I made Meatloaf today! I hope you enjoy it. And make sure too have some salad too before even thinking about eating this meatloaf!" she sternly warned.

"And if I don't?" I asked cheekily, fork going in for the kill.

She tossed the now ball of foil at my face. "I'll never forgive that's what!"

Ah, so cute, even when she gets mad. I obediently followed her orders and got some of the salad, put on some salad dressing (honey mustard of course!) and ate as quickly as humanly possible.

My cute lil' sister, otherwise know as Luna to most, wasn't actually my real lil' sis. She was an added bonus of my dad remarrying her mom, and the rest is history.

Even so, I still doted on her and loved her like my own. I got a heaping plate of meatloaf, said thank you for the food, and dug right in.

Ah yes, nothing could've ruined this peaceful, wholesome moment. Well, something already did though.

"You eat up too! If I had known big bro was going to bring company, I would've made more!" she said enthusiastically.

"Affirmative. Will happily eat," the intruder said in her usual flat tone.

The intruder was the silver haired girl known as Model 114141, and she followed me home after I renounced her idea of introducing myself.

My sister helped her grab some meatloaf and gave her a fork before making her own plate.

"You're too kind lil' sis. You should let the intruder get her own food," I said before shoveling more food down my throat.

"That's so mean, saying something like that about a guest you brought home!" she exclaimed in shock. "Especially since this is the first guest you've brought home," Luna trailed before chomping down on a piece of meatloaf.

I scowled and looked down at my food. While it was true that I had never brought anybody home, the simple reason was because I couldn't risk anybody from my school finding about a cutie such as her.

"That's also the reason I don't have any friends," I declared before taking another bite out of my already half gone meatloaf.

"Big bro, that isn't something to be declaring so easily," my worried sister said, looking at me with sad eyes.

"... It's good."

Our exchange got interrupted by the intruder, who, despite sounding shocked, still had the same expressionless face on.

"That's a kuudere for you I guess," I muttered before drinking some water.

"You really should learn to stop using words no one else knows except you," my sister said frowning.

"Well, maybe they should get educated then."

"I only know because I've known you for so long, but others aren't like that you know," she said, exasperated by my usual self.

"How would I get educated, as you would suggest?" the intruder asked tilting her head in confusion.

"Oh no you don't, you're not tricking me with how you slyly drop questions like that!"

Her head was tilted in a confused manner. "I merely wish to learn what it is I haven't. I already know all forms of math, physics, sciences, and especially history. However, I do not know what this 'kuudere' you speak of. Has it something to do with culture or language? If so, I would greatly appreciate learning more about this time, seeing I'll be here for a while."

I stared at my sister, who seemed equally stunned at her response. I sighed and looked back at the girl.

How the hell am I supposed to respond to that? I thought as I put my hand to my face.

"If you don't know about it, then don't worry about. No use worrying about things like this I say," I replied to her statement.

The girl looked down at her plate and replied "Understood" before eating some more meatloaf.

After we had finished eating, I was just about to head back upstairs to the wonderful seclusion known as my room when I heard a worried shout, and then rapid footsteps.

Well, this can't be good. And sure enough it wasn't.

"Big bro! Big Bro! This is terrible, just terrible!"

I turned around to see a breathless Luna, who look extremely worried.

"The girl you brought home-!"

"Nope." I cut her off before I could hear anymore and continued to walk up the stairs.

"You didn't even let me finish!"

"Anything to do with that girl is trouble alright, I just know it! So nope, don't wanna hear it!"

"But, but she's homeless! She doesn't have a place to stay!"

I once again froze and understood the implications of that statement. Because of how nice and naive my sister is, I knew what the next words would be from her mouth.

"Nope, she is not staying with us!"

"How did you know what I was going to say!?" she said. "Can you read minds or something?"

I made my way back downstairs and put my hand on her auburn colored head. "I don't need to read minds to know what my cute, adorable, kind, and naive lil' sis is thinking." I gave her her favorite: head pats.

"Hee Hee, aw thanks big bro, you're not so bad yourself!"

"And because of that kindness and naivety, I must decline your suggestion. I mean, what would Mom and Dad think?"

I took my hand off her head as she looked up at me with her cute pouty face. "But, please?"

The girl who had been a little bit behind Luna, bowed her head. "Please allow me to stay here for the time being. I would be in your debt."

The cute lil' sis in front of me pleading with her eyes, and the beautiful silver haired girl bowing her head in asking me, what could I possibly say in a situation like this?

Well, I think it's pretty obvious.

"No."

And then I escaped back to the comfort of my room before I could see their expressions. Because if there is one weakness I have, it would be the shocked and forlorn looks of my sister and that girl, or rather, any girl that could make me have this growing sense of guilt...

The next morning, I walked downstairs to see my sister smiling as she cheerfully made breakfast for the two of us. My lunchbox was already made and waiting for me on the counter.

Good, it seems that she's alright. I know how she can throw a tantrum when she doesn't get her way. I shivered at the thought. Well, let's just say I'm glad those days are over.

"Mornin' lil' sis, happy as usual huh?" I said lazily as I pulled up a chair and waited for her to finish cooking.

"Yep, although no thanks to you big bro."

I tensed up at that sentence as I looked over at her. She turned to look back before grinning. "But it's alright, I understand where you're coming from, and so I forgive you!"

As quick as I tensed up, I relaxed. I breathed a sigh of relief. "So, whatever happened to Model, er, I mean the intruder."

"She's staying somewhere close by, so don't worry about that. And done!" She said hastily before proclaiming that her cooking was done.

"Here you go bro, eat up and then hurry up and go to school! You might be late since you woke up so late. Were you up doing your hobbies again?"

Hobbies, code-word for my activities that I only conduct in my room. While my sister knew about some hobbies, she most definitely did not know about others. Those I would take to the grave.

"Of course! You know I can't live without my sweet hobbies," I said, quickly eating breakfast.

"Did you at least finish all your homework?"

"Do you even need to ask that question lil' sis? I always complete my homework during school. Not like they teach me anything meaningful..."

I suffered from what I liked to call smart people syndrome. While not inflicting all smart people, it most certainly affected me. Basically, the stuff they were teaching me no longer warranted my attention, and I went through my days doing only the b.a.r.e minimum to keep my grades at a perfect 100 at all times, finding only sanctuary in my hobbies.

In a nutshell, I was bored.

"Really big bro, if you're so bored, why don't you take some harder classes?"

"I'm taking the hardest classes the school has to offer."

"Heheh, of course you are," Luna said before sighing. She plopped down in a chair next to me and watched me eat my breakfast.

"So, is it the usual for you today as well?" I asked carefully.

"Yeah, it is for the most part," she replied before setting her head down onto the table.

"I see, well that most part sounds exciting, so have fun doing that!" I said cheerfully, noting the difference in our usual morning exchange.

"What are you going to do that's different?" I asked curiously. My sister never goes outside what's her 'norm', so this could be what we call progress ladies and gentleman!

She looked nervous as she lifted her head off the table, tapping her pointer fingers together, trying to find the words to say what she needed to say.

"Well, on second thought, maybe it'll be better if you tell me after school, so you can tell me all of your exciting stories," I said, retracting my previous statement.

She seemed like she wanted to say something, but then shook her head. "Thank you..."

I finished eating my breakfast and grabbed my lunchbox and my bag, which was near the door. "No prob lil' sis. And remember?"

"Call you if anyone strange shows up, I know!"

"Good girl! Well, I'm off!" And with that final statement, I rushed off to what should've been another boring day at school. However...

Right when I walked into the first class of the day, having to run the entire way to school (often an usual occurrence), I walked to the row of desks closest to the window, 2nd from the back and right when I was about plop down into my seat, I, too my surprise, found it already occupied.

"Hi there, p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you again so soon."

Damn it, how the hell is she here?

Sitting in my seat was the familiar silver haired beauty I had become acquainted with the day before. She looked at menacing gaze and realized what I was mad about.

"Oh, is this your seat? I'll move then."

Or maybe not, but at least she got out of my seat. She moved to the seat behind mine and watched as I plopped down onto me seat right as the bell rang.

And so, the silver haired girl and I began to see a lot more of each other. Throughout the day similar occurrences happened, as she had somehow infiltrated each and everyone of my classes. It wasn't until lunchtime, where I ate on the roof, was that I finally didn't see her.

The roof was my sanctuary at school, seeing as no one else was allowed up here except me, for reasons which will be later explained.

I sighed as I opened my homemade lunchbox made by my adorable little sister. She even puts motivating notes in them. Ah, how wonderful.

I read the note she wrote, something I always did, and scowled at the message.

"Try to make a friend today, because I worry about you Big Bro!" with a smiley face at the end.

I put the note to the side and said thanks for the food before devouring my lunch. I finished earlier than anticipated, so I got up and looked outside to see the wide expanse.

I felt the whoosh of wind behind me, and a voice.

"I finally found you," said the voice in it's usual unemotional tone.

I whirled around to find myself with face to face with Model 114141.

What the hell, she was looking for me too? Why can't she just let bygones be bygones?

"Why do you care so much about little ol' me? I mean seriously, what could you possibly want with a loner like me?"

"Because you are intriguing to me," she replied simply.

"I'm intriguing to you? You, Model 114141, who can do so many extraordinary things, and you're interested in me? Man, your standards must be hella low," I muttered, scowling at my current predicament.

"Not in that way, but something about you is different from other humans, something I cannot process. Being that the case, I wish to ask you about something. Also, I wish to inquire about your name. You have had your sister's home cooked meal, correct?"

I gritted my teeth in anger. How can she be so calm about this?

"Listen, Model 114141, I don't really get what you mean by something is different, other than I'm a lone wolf, but I can not tell you my name."

"And why is that?" she asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

"And that is because I simply don't want to!" and with that final statement, I left the roof, and made my way downstairs.

Jeez, doesn't she know when to quit? I thought as I blinked. And when the blink was over, I was back on the rooftop, facing the silver haired girl once more.
