Time Traveling Hero

Chapter 45 - Hiro’s Hero Triumphs PT.7: Triumphs of New: A Hiro’s Plan

"Huh?"

It was a simple question that Roberto voiced out, but everyone had the same reaction as I grinned, the holographic images fading back into my Nymphy.

"I'm just gonna lead you all to victory as a strategist, no biggie," I said, nodding to myself. Plus, when it works out, I'll have a triumph under my belt.

"Now just hold on a damn minute!" Roberto yelled out, standing up from his seat. "Listen here kid, I dunno what type of idiocy has invaded that brain of yours, but if you honestly think you're capable of leading us all to victory by yourself, you must be outta your damn mind! I don't care if you are a Hero, this is still your first mission, and more importantly, you're a kid! What do you think you can do better than the people who came up with the mission all those years ago!?"

Yeah, I was expecting that. I looked around at all the squadron leader's faces, and they seemed to be experiencing a similar reaction. Only the Model's seemed interested, probably because I had said that I didn't view them as useless fodder.

"Do you even have a plan, or are you just talking outta your ȧss!? Honestly, I knew it was a bad idea to bring an inexperienced kid along with us!" Roberto shouted out, pointing at me.

"Do you honestly think I would spout out everything wrong about the operation and not have a plan?" I responded, scowling at him. "Seriously, what type of fool does that? I spent all night coming up with a plan, memorizing abilities and weapons, squad and people's specialties, the enemies' abilities and base layout and thought of ways to utilize Models better in battle, all while getting a good night's rest last night!"

Kimberly whistled. "That's mighty impressive, especially for someone so new to the organization. Well, I'm at least interested to hear this plan of his."

"You can't be serious right now Kimberly!" Roberto said, turning to his fellow squadron leader. "You're really about to trust this kid!?"

"If it means I won't see any of my squad mates die, I'll even make a deal with the damn Devil," she responded, glaring at Roberto. "You of all people must understand that, right Roberto? Same with everyone in this tent, you know what we had to go through to get to this position."

Everyone tensed up, and Roberto gritted his teeth, clenching his fists tightly before sitting back down, looking at me with careful eyes. "I still don't like this at all."

"Well, if you want, I can call the Director so he can hear the plan with all of you as well, in case you want approval," I suggested, my plan to convince them going underway. It should work, especially since there's no way he couldn't have known…

"Since when could Master do that?" Anna asked, and I smiled.

"Oh, that guy wanted to be the first person to exchange contact info with me, so that's how I managed to get his personal Hephy Number," I said, pulling up one of 6 contacts on Nymphy called "The Best," (Note, he put in that name, not me) before putting Nymphy down on the table before his hologram showed up.

"Oh wow, look at that, Hiro really did decide to call me first! I knew it was a good idea to give him my contact info first Mars!"

"Whatever you say sir. I'll be leaving now," Mars said in the background, and I could see the Director wave him goodbye.

"Now then, what might be the occasion for today Hiro? I can see you have all the squadron leaders with you, so it must be important."

"It's no problem really, just wanted to change how the entire operation worked, and decided to let you in on the plan to see if you approve."

"I see, go on then," the Director said, nodding to himself as he leaned back in his chair.

"To start off, if we do enact my plan, please realize that we'll have to do it tomorrow instead of today so you can go over the new details of the plan," I started. "Any objections to that?" .

"Makes sense to me," a muscular squadron leader whose skin was slightly darker than my own said with a gruff voice, whose name on their uniform said Griffin. "Although, why not two days?"

"Because I have school, duh," I said, and I heard a strange noise next to me. I glanced at Anna, who still had the same unemotional face, before clearing my throat.

"Anyway, my plan is quite simple to be honest," I said, nodding to myself. "Luckily for me, I thought ahead and detailed the plan to each squadron leader here plus our guest the Director, which should be reaching you all right about… now."

There were 35 simultaneous dings on each of everybody's Hephy's, and everyone looked alarmed as they pulled them out.

I could hear Anna clapping next to me, and I smiled as I watched everybody's reaction as they read through my plan.

"The overall goal of the operation is to rescue the dinosaurs from the ATF and destroy the base shortly afterwards, right? I based my plan around that plus all the different goals the different squads have to achieve in order to reach the best possible solution for each; I also took liberty deciding what weapons each squad should primarily use depending on the role I decided for them as well as specializing that even further for each squad member within their respective squad depending on what they were good at and their previous experiences. Don't worry though, I didn't mix and match squad members with other squads, I just left that part alone. Now then, regarding the Mo-!"

Before I could continue there was a collective shout from all the squadron leaders, meaning they must've reached that part already.

"Wh-what the hell is this!?" Roberto roared out. "You want us to do what now!?"

Ah well, I'll go over the Model stuff soon enough. "Yep, it's exactly as you saw, the biggest change to this operation!"

Oh man, I can't wait for it! "We're gonna be using the very thing that they least expect: Dinosaurs!"

Silence blanketed the room as my excitement grew at the thought of working alongside dinosaurs.

"… Master, you just want to play around with the dinosaurs, don't you?"

"Of course I do!" I yelled out. "But just think how much easier things would go if we had dinosaurs backing us up! They should be more than willing to help, especially if their own are being abused and taken away. It shouldn't be too hard to befriend them either, you saw what happened earlier with Trikey."

"Well, he's not wrong about befriending them; he did it so easily, probably because they have no fear against humans," Kimberly muttered, glancing through the list. "If we can really befriend them, it would make our lives a hell of a lot easier. But beyond that, this plan looks rock-solid, I don't see any issues; he even came up with a backup plan in case we can't use dinosaurs. Honestly, I'm astounded."

"Hmm, how interesting indeed Hiro," The Director started, also reading through the plan I had laid out. "There's just one thing I'm curious about, if you don't mind me asking."

"Go ahead, ask away," I said.

"About your use of the Models, it's almost like you prioritize them above the actual soldiers."

All the Models in the room looked visibly shocked at the Director's words before turning to me. I simply smiled at them before explaining.

"In truth, I have another plan that doesn't even involve the Models in the operation, but I doubt that anyone here would accept that plan, so I had to trash it." I bowed my head slightly towards the models. "For that I'm sorry. This plan is the next best thing for you guys, so I hope you'll accept it."

"Wait a damn minute, why the hell do these Models get priority over us!?" Roberto shouted out. "They're disposable and easily replaceable, so why do they get priority over us!?"

I sighed. "Honestly, I don't get it yet it seems…"

"Huh? The hell did you just say!?"

I shook my head internally. This debate is for another time Hiro. "It's because they're way more useful than you all, it's a simple as that."

"Now hold on, even I can't accept that at face value," a tanned young man with short blond hair said, glaring at me. From his uniform I gathered his name was Ethan. "Are you trying to make an enemy of everyone in this tent?"

"Well, if you must know, they are just better overall. They're stronger and faster than you, plus are just as good as everyone in this room at using the TRTF's weaponry, although that isn't the only reason."

I pointed towards Ethan's Model, a tall girl with bright yellow hair. "For example, your Model can shoot out small blasts of energy if she makes a finger gun and can charge to up to three times its normal amount for a bigger shot."

I pointed towards Griffin's Model next, a short girl with wavy bright green hair. "Your Model can make telepathic pathways between two people so long as she can see them, and the number of pathways she can make is up to 10, which is more than enough for a squad mission."

I pointed towards Kimberly's Model after that, a girl with bright red hair that fit well with her spunky haircut. "Your Model can cause things to spontaneously combust within a 100 ft radius, although the bigger the thing she's trying to combust, the harder and longer it takes."

"And finally, Model 2512018935, the Model of my dear Squadron Leader," I said, pointing towards her. She had stopped chewing her gum as she stared in awe at me, and I gave her a small smile before continuing.

"Your Model can use psychokinesis; although she can't lift up things bigger than her, she can lift up as many things that equal her total mass. And yes, the mass includes the clothes on her and all the gadgets she can carry.

"Now then, if you include those abilities with their battle prowess and the weaponry of the TRTF, they far outclass you all; honestly, if all the squadron leaders fought their Models right now in an all-out brawl, their Models would win with 90-10 odds. Need I say more?"

Everyone was stunned into silence as I finished my spiel, and I let out a grin as I hopped over the table and landed in front of the girl with pink hair.

"So, do you like this plan, Beatrice?"

The pink-haired Model, now known to me as Beatrice, dropped the gum out of her mouth in shock at my words. "Wh-what did you just call me?"

"Beatrice. That's your name, duh."

"Hold on just a damn minute!" Roberto yelled out, glaring at me. "Who the hell said Model's needed names, let alone my Model!?"

"So, what do you think, Beatrice? Do you approve of this plan?" I asked, ignoring Roberto.

Her yellow eyes sparkled with happiness as she nodded furiously. "I-I most definitely agree!"

"Do all the other Models agree too?" I asked, looking at all the girls with brightly colored hair, and they nodded eagerly. "Well, half of the people in this room agree with me, plus with me and Anna, that makes the majority. If this was a democracy, I would say we win, isn't that right, Director?"

I turned back to the Director, and he let out a laugh at my words.

"You really are something else! You've far exceeded my expectations, well done! Very well, by majority rules, I agree to this plan, enact it at once."

"Wait, you can't be serious sir!" Roberto yelled out. "Do you really want to leave us in the hands of a new Hero!?"

"I already agreed to it, you can't exactly argue with majority rules now," he said, chuckling to himself. "I'll send the plans to the past at once."

Right when I was about to celebrate, I felt an odd sensation overcome me, and I winced as I held my head, the world around me turning hazy before clearing up again. But things looked different in this tent of mine now.

There were no longer a congregation of people in here, only Anna, the Director, and I were the only ones left.

"Oh wow, that's pretty rare," the Director murmured as he glanced at me.

"Uh, what the hell just happened? Where'd all the squad leaders go?"

"Oh, so you remember as well? You intrigue me even more…"

I scowled as I turned to him. "You know what happened?"

"Well, it seems once I sent the details of the plan to the past, you managed to change your own present, along with the future as well."

Eh? "I, I just changed the future? I knew I was a Time Traveling Hero, but to think I could do so much already…"

"Silly Master, it is not that simple," Anna said. It seemed she too also remembered.

"Anna is right; it is exceedingly rare to change your present and future to such an extent. It's not uncommon for the future to change, but for your current present as well? I haven't seen that phenomenon in a long time…"

"So, basically, what you're saying is, I'm badass."

The Director chuckled to himself. "That is one way of looking at it. In any case, good job on your plan Hiro."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah right, you knew what was gonna happen the minute I saw those mission details. Well, at least this'll count as a triumph."

I turned to Anna and smiled. "Can I count on you?"

"Master is useless without me, so of course."

"You know, even if it is true, that doesn't make it hurt any less…"

I looked back at the Director, steeling my resolve. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna let anyone die here on this operation!" I pounded my ċhėst, grinning.

"Cause that's my Hiro Triumph!"

----------------------------------

Hiro hung up on me shortly after that, and I smiled at his swift work on his Triumphs. Still though, one thing was bugging me.

"I wonder what this part of his plan could be about…"

I stared at the holographic plan he had sent me, detailing each of the original 35 squads in the operation. But there was one more thing left.

"Squad 36, just who might be in that one in this grand plan of yours, 'Hero?'"
