Time Traveling Hero

Chapter 65 - Hiro’s Hero Triumphs PT.24: Triumphs of New: A Hero’s Triumph

"All I'm getting is that we're fuċkėd Rob. Not even you can save us from this, we're fuċkėd."

Roberto's squad was having a meeting, and Anna had just finished explaining the situation.

Roberto slammed his fist against the wall, dust falling from the dilapidated ceiling. "I already know that Beatrice, but that sure as hell doesn't mean we're going down without a fight!"

"Then what do you propose then? It's 20 to 100 out there, and unless we can somehow make it into one of the buildings alive, there's no way we can win. And you sure as hell know that gunning for the exit won't help either; we'll be dead before we even take 5 steps outside of this place," Beatrice continued, spitting out her piece of gum. "Plus that's if we had weapons, which that bitch got rid of when she teleported us all here! It doesn't take a genius to know we have no options."

"She has a point," Raquez said, glaring at the ground. "We only have so many options available to us. We can't stay here for too long, otherwise they'll just grab an energy cannon and blow us sky high."

"You really mean to say after everything this squad has been through, this is how we die? Not even in a blaze of glory?" Rebecca said, and her model patted her own the back. "I swear if we somehow get out of this alive, we're bringing back that damn target as a carcass."

"Yeah, and if we die I'm haunting her to her dying breath," Rory said. "I'll make it so she'll always trip at the most important moments."

"That's the best you can do, really man?" Rosie asked. "At least come up with a better punishment than that shitty one. Make it so that she'll be haunted by our dead bodies each night or something."

"We don't have time for this," Reuben said, tapping his foot impatiently. "Is there seriously no way for us to get out of here? Even if it means most of us dies, there has to be something that gets us out here."

Roberto sat down (he was the only one who didn't have their uniform on some odd reason, being dressed in a grey tank top and some sort of black skintight pants. "If we put our heads together, we might be able to come up with something. Maybe a diversionary tactic of some sort. Our Models still have their abilities, and we have Hiro's partner Anna, who can fly, among other things. And we also have the Hero himself, but…" He trailed off, and everyone turned to look to me.

What was I doing? Sleeping obviously, what else would I do?

"He seems to be currently incapacitated, sleeping," Roberto growled out, and seeing how I was asleep, I made no indication I heard him.

"Master is not sleeping, Master is probably thinking as hard as us," Anna said, and I was tempted to open one of my eyes at her remark.

My bad, faking sleeping would be what I should call it. Resting my eyes so to speak.

Would it be easier to try to fight them off instead of running away? Probably not, since you can only enter the buildings from outside the enclosure, but running away wouldn't amount to much either. If we made a break for it to try to get our weapons back (assuming the Miku Rip Off didn't teleport them away from that location), we would still be shot to death once we entered that wasteland with no cover. The diversion could possibly work, but that's guaranteed death for the people who do it, and only a slightly higher chance of survival for the people trying to either escape or try to fight back, which only leads us back to the same scenario. And that's not even considering that the enemy probably already knows how many people are in this shabby building. It's more surprising that they haven't blown us out of existence yet. Hmm…

I peeked at the wall, seeing it was made of the same material that those boxes and stairs from the first building we encountered were made of. I still had no idea what the hell those things were made of, but it must be something pretty impressive if it's able to withstand the apocalypse. Maybe it's energy resistant or immune, and that's why they haven't shot at us?

The place was fairly small, most of us sitting against the walls, away from the only entrance into the place (it didn't have any windows). Interestingly enough, it didn't look the place was built intentionally; instead it felt like it was more smashed haphazardly, the walls and ceiling crushed together.

I don't know how it happened nor do I care at the moment. I'll say my thanks to the person who made this thing once we get out of here alive.

I peeked my eyes open, and it looked as if a full-scale war meeting was underway. Roberto was drawing in the sand (our Hephy's also got taken away from us) taking input from everyone, even the Models at this point, who also seemed eager to have their own input for once.

But odds are they'll come to the same conclusion I did, which is a diversion. And since the Models are the best ones for it, they'll use them and Anna to try to run away (I would choose fighting, but since Model prejudice is commonplace, I figure they would be more likely to run away rather than help them out). Meaning, it's either I convince the squad to go out and sacrifice themselves, or…

"Am I even capable of such a feat?" I murmured. Maybe I can now… .

---------------------

I slammed down onto the floor, gasping as I extended my arm out. It was during moments like these that I often questioned my life choices, or if you wanna be more specific, my choice at nearly causing a paradoxical disaster.

"Heal him already Hebe."

Yes, please heal the guy who can't even make a coherent sentence. That seems like a wonderful idea so that, you know, I won't die. Dying would suck.

I felt myself unbreak, and once my lungs were back in proper order, started gulping up air, coughing as I sat up, glaring at the person responsible.

"Your reaction speed is getting better at least. Before you would pass out immediately, and now look at you, you're able to stay conscious."

"F-fuck off," I said, and Mars shrugged.

"It wouldn't have been so bad if you didn't decide to ignore all known rules to time traveling."

I coughed again, groaning as I stood up.

As the Director stated, I was forced to undergo battle training under Mars, which basically meant he almost killed me 100+ times daily.

"Your basics are pretty much perfect. I don't know if that's because I'm a good teacher or you're actually a genius," Mars continued. "Your reaction speed is good too, but you never know what to do with it. I already told you not to take those punches head on. A normal person would've died from just one of them alone, so I don't know what the hell you're thinking."

"I can dodge them, that's wh-!" I was once more skidding across the ground, unable to breath, one of my eyes out of my socket, arm busted beyond relief, and a pain so great I was surprised that my nerves didn't overload.

Did I mention I screamed a lot in this training?

I sat back up after Hebe healed me, wiping away the sweat. "You can't even let me finish huh?"

"Stop being a smart ȧss and listen to me. I don't care how fast you think you are, the way you are now, there is no way in hell you can dodge one of my all-out punches," Mars said, crossing his arms. "So that's why I've been-"

"Been trying to teach me how to roll with the punches, I know," I said, rolling my eyes.

And he taught me it all in less than a day, with a very convenient place that is used to speed up time (like a hyperbolic time chamber from Dr*gon B*ll). It's often used to train new recruits, or in my case, a Hero.

It could change the climate, topography, time of day, and even has an AI test dummy you can fight against.

Anyway, it was just a simple white chamber for our training purposes, similar to what it looked like during those Trials of mine.

Hebe offered me a hand, and I accepted, getting back to my feet.

"Now, are you actually going to listen to my instructions? I thought all those times of you screaming out in pain would've put it through your thick skull already," Mars said.

"I'd rather listen to Hebe thank you very much," I said. "At least she doesn't leave me in a bloody pulp."

"Uh, I would appreciate it if you could listen to him Hiro!" Hebe said, bowing her head.

"Oh, if you insist," I said, and Mars sighed.

"Maybe if she was here this would be going better. Ugh, the hell am I even saying, fuċk that bitch."

"He wouldn't happen to be talking about a past lover or something would he Hebe?"

Hebe shook her head. "No, he's talking about Athena. She's the women's first Hand. She specializes in using weapons and stuff. I even heard that she would beat Mars in an all-out brawl, but that's just a rumor."

So another superhuman who contends with Mars? "I'd rather not deal with that anytime soon. Hopefully we may never meet," I said, offering a prayer to God Himself. "By the way Hebe, are you sure you're alright? I didn't exactly wanna bother you or anything."

She shook her head, smiling. "Nope, it's fine! I've seen way worse on the battlefield, so this is nothing! It's actually kinda calming, knowing someone scary can be dealt with so easily."

"You think I'm scary? Since when?"

"Oh, uh, that's a long story, but you can be," Hebe said, offering me a lollipop. "But sometimes when you get super determined, it's like you're not even human anymore!"

I accepted the lollipop, sticking it in my mouth. This wasn't the first time someone had told me this, but I could never see it.

"But getting back to the question, this also counts as training for me too! I've been able to heal a lot more times now since I've constantly had to heal you too. But I am reaching my limit soon, so I would appreciate it if you could master this concept."

"You two done loafing around? If so, I suggest you prepare yourself," Mars said, raising his fists in the air. "If you're able to tank one of my hits without breaking more than 3 bones, then I'll call it a done deal."

"Make it so I don't break any bones, and we have a deal," I said, getting into my ready position.

"Crazy just like the rest of them. Fine then, you asked for it."

-------------------

It took me one day in the real world to master that, so about a month inside the training grounds. After that, I spent my time fighting against AI who used weapons to better prepare myself against real people.

So in a way, I guess I was ready. Time to put all that training into practice I suppose.

"And that's the plan guys, got it? We'll use half of our Models and Anna as a diversion, and take the rest to fight against those inside the buildings. We'll have to be quick, otherwise those in the diversion may lose their lives, and we've come too far for that. Push comes to shove, Anna here will fly the Models to our current location."

"That won't be necessary," I said, stretching out my limbs as I stood up, and everyone in the room looked towards me, disgust in their eyes.

"Master, you have a plan?"

I nodded, grinning. "What better diversion than a Hero? I'll handle all 100 enemies here, so you can sit back and watch the show, got it?"

"ARE YOU CRAZY KID!? THAT'S A DEATHWISH IF I EVER HEARD ONE!" Roberto yelled out, and I winced as his voice reverberated around the room. "You seriously think you can handle them all by yourself!?"

"Yep, since I have a secret weapon," I said, reaching into my shorts to find them still there, safe and sound. "Little Miss Rip Off apparently didn't think I had any weapons, which makes sense all things considering; I am wearing what I wore to school today."

"You had weapons and you didn't tell us!?" Roberto yelled out, and I raised up my hands in surrender.

"Well, it's not something that can be easily used. It'll take me a while to set it up, but after that, I should be able to take them all on, no problem. Even without it I should, although I probably wouldn't be entirely unscathed."

"And if you fail? What then? We lose another Hero, and then the TRTF is back to square one. As much as you don't believe it kid, everyone in this room, including that Model partner of yours Anna, is expendable." Roberto got up to his feet and jabbed his finger into my ċhėst. "Everyone, except for you. Even if we all die here, so long as you get outta here alive, the TRTF will still hold it's standing in this time. Do you know how hard it is for us in the current time period? We've been without a Hero for 10 years, and the ATF have grown far bolder and more powerful because of it. If they manage to kill you today, that'll be it. We got lucky with you, and we don't exactly have a reliable way of finding Heroes in case you haven't realized that. So no, absolutely not, I fuċkɨnġ refuse."

I couldn't help but be stunned as everyone, including Anna, nodded in agreement at his words. I felt my heart sink, as I was starting to fully understand what this position meant to these people.

"But even so, I can do it."

"I already told you-"

"I will do it. What's the point of being a hero if it means having people sacrifice themselves for me? What type of backwards logic is that? i'm doing it, and you're not stopping me. i'll break the legs of everyone in this room so i can do my duty, so let me do my damn job for once."

Everyone froze at my words, sweat starting to come out as some of them started to shake.

"If that's it, I'll be going now." I turned around and headed towards the exit, before I felt someone grab my arm.

"Master, is Master sure?" It was Anna, the only person who seemed unfazed by my words. "Anna, is unsure if Master can accomplish such a task on Master's own. Is Master absolutely certain?"

And without missing a beat, I gave her a smile and a thumbs up. "If I really need help, you'll be the first person I scream out for, got it?"

Anna, releasing me. "Then, as my special friend once said: Take care out there, and come back in time for dinner."

"… Seriously, what's up with these corny and cliché lines," I muttered. "But I wouldn't miss dinner for the world, Luna is making something I quite like today."

And with my final words being about dinner, I ventured outside, to the start of my Triumph.

------------------

"You know, I just realized this, but didn't I raise a whole bunch of death flags just now? Ah well, no use worrying about it. I have more pressing things to worry about, like the 50 laser sights all aimed at me."

I was up on the roof of the makeshift building, having placed piece 1 of 20 of my secret weapon. Normally it would automatically make it, but considering it was going to be quite large, I had to manually place all the pieces before it could activate.

"Tell me, do you have a death wish or something!? I knew you Heroes were crazy, but even this is a bit much! You're surrounded on all sides, and you'll die long before you reach the exit! If you like, we'll let you die with your comrades if you convince them to come out with you!"

I stood up, hopping down from the roof onto the grainy wasteland substance that covered the ground. I looked up towards the man who spoke. He was all the way at the top of the highest collapsed building, and it looked as if he had greying hair.

"I actually have a proposition for you! Lay down all your weapons, and maybe you won't get your ȧss kicked. If not, you will get ȧss kicked by yours truly!"

"Crazy son of a bitch. Fine then, fire men!"

I smiled at him, which startled him somewhat. "Alright then, you asked for it!"

I appeared inside the building, placing another piece down on the wall furthest from the stadium, surprising two people who had shot at where I just was.

"Yoo Hoo, your aim is quite terrible," I said, smiling at them.

"What the, how the hel-!" I slammed my knee into his face, causing his head to reel back into the wall, knocking him out. I turned around to the other one, swinging my leg around to the back of his head, sending it down towards the pavement.

Alright, 2 down, 98 to go. Shouldn't be so bad after all.

I appeared in another area, dropping one of my pieces on the floor right as 3 guys shot at me, only for me to chop one of the guys in the neck, rendering him unconscious.

I appeared in between the two guys, frowning. "Oh no, looks like I got caught."

I disappeared and chuckled to myself as they both shot themselves into unconsciousness, glancing around outside the window. "Hmm, I think that should be the next place then."

I appeared up rather high, at one of the top floors of one of the buildings, landing on the wall (yes, it was that sloped). 2 guys from behind, 1 in front, and 2 and 1 to the right and left respectively. I looked at the guy to my left and noticed something hanging from his belt.

"Get him!"

"How the hell is he doing this, can he teleport or something!?"

"As I told the Rip Off, believe what you wanna believe," I said, tackling the guy to my left before nailing him with two quick punches, his head reverberating through the concrete wall before I grabbed the item, appearing in the middle of the pack who was just about to jump on top of me.

"Sorry, but enjoy the surprise!" I yelled out, tossing out another piece towards the roof as a bright light enveloped the area, and I glanced behind me to find the remaining five scattered across the room.

Who knew energy grenades were so economical?

------------------

"How is he doing Anna, does he need any backup?" I asked, and her yellow eyes whirred around, constantly changing directions to follow where our Hero was going.

"Master has just taken out about 10 of them fairly easily. Master is quite fast it seems."

"He seems to be going pretty quickly then. If he goes at this pace he'll be done in around half an hour," Beatrice said. "That's pretty impressive."

"Master also is not killing anyone either, although Anna does not have a reason why."

"Ugh, the kid is still a kid then," Rosie let out, but I ignored her.

After all, there was a palpable tension in the air as we all watched our young Hero blossom, an experience that one would normally never see in their lifetime.

"By the way Rob, if he does pull it off without backup, just remember that bet we made," Beatrice said, nudging me.

Yes, the tension in the air was very palpable, and I was extremely grateful, and yet, it felt as if no matter what would happen, I would lose.

"… I hate you," I grumbled, and Beatrice beamed at me.

"Right back at yah partner!"

"Master has taken out 18 of them now. Master is almost a fifth of the way there."

--------------------

Is it just me, or is it starting to get easier doing this?

I rammed my foot into the guy's face, the impact causing the cracked wall behind him to crumble apart. I appeared on the opposite side of the encirclement down below, placing another piece of my secret weapon down before sweeping another person's legs out from under him, using gravity to help my fist slam his face into the ground.

"You, you damn Hero, who do you-!" I rushed towards the other guy in the room, slamming my palm into his jaw before kicking his solar plexus, knocking him on the ground, his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

"Damn Hero this, damn Hero that, say something else about me," I grumbled, putting down my tenth piece. "Now let's see, where to next…?"

I glanced out the window to the right and appeared in front of 7 guys this time.

"Sir, we have no idea how he's doing it, but he keeps-!" I grabbed the guy by the hair, yanking him towards the guy about to shoot me, causing him to hesitate.

"Big mistake dumbass!" I yelled out, pulling two grenades from the guy's belt, ripping the pins out with my mouth. I kicked the guy forward, throwing the two grenades in opposite directions.

I dived towards the doorway, rolling behind the wall as the entire building shook from the two explosions.

I glanced back into the room and saw everyone sprawled in various positions on the floor. "I really need to invest in these grenades, they're perfect for me."

I tossed one of the pieces onto the unconscious dude whose hair I had grabbed before appearing in another room, this time with no one in it.

"That's surprising, I thought there were people in this room. They must've moved somewhere, but where?" I looked out the window to see the man who ordered to shoot me still up on the roof of the highest building, with people gathering around him.

"Well that sucks." I threw another piece on the outside wall, before smiling. "Sucks for them that is. It'll be easier if they're all in one place."

I appeared in another room, this time with two people who were already about to shoot me.

I vanished just as the laser was about to hit me, showing up to the one nearest me, knocking the gun upwards before kicking him back towards the wall, slamming my heel into his nose for good measure before grabbing the gun, aiming it at the other guy.

"Bang."

I didn't shoot him obviously, but he seemed to have passed out thinking I did. Wimp.

I grabbed another piece, slamming it onto the wall before tossing the gun away.

"Just seven more left. I would prefer it if I didn't have to fight all of them on the roof, soo…" I looked out the window again to see a group of about 15 soldiers all making their way towards the man. They were still on the lower floors, meaning they were screwed.

I appeared in the doorway, slamming my foot against the other side, looking at their shocked faces.

"Yo, I would appreciate it if you could surrender for me."

Instead, I was greeted with melee type weapons; energy swords, gauntlets, axes, etc. I guess these guys were here in case we did actually make it in.

"So uh, is that a no?" I asked, chuckling to myself.

"You think you're so damn ċȯċky huh? Without that stupid weapon, not even you can take us all on," a man said. He seemed to be the leader of this group, and was probably the equivalent to a squadron commander. I watched his entire body crackle with electricity, and I frowned.

"I don't need a weapon, just my head!" I appeared in front of him slamming my head into his, causing him to stumble back, but I had already ripped out the wiring from his suit.

"Get him already-!" I kicked him down onto the ground while he was still off balanced and repeatedly curb-stomped his face into the floor, until my shoes was bloody from his broken nose and mouth.

I looked up towards the quivering soldiers and smiled. "That's one down. Who's next?"

I pulled out another grenade I had nicked from a nearby soldier, pulling the pin out as I watched everyone's eyes widen.

"Y-you're crazy! You'll kill us all here you idiot!"

I frowned, tossing the grenade into the air. "Nah, it shouldn't kill you. Your uniforms are energy resistant after all, so unless you were hugging it tight, the most that would happen would be unconsciousness, and if you're really unlucky, you might lose a limb."

I watched the grenade fall back to my eye level, before waving. "So, there's only one thing to do: Nigerundayo!"

I watched as everyone was blown back from the safety of two rooms away, and nodded to myself as I placed a piece down on the floor.

"That should almost be half of them gone. At this rate, I might be able to take out at least 60-75% of them before I need to get to the roof." I brushed off the dust and stretched my body upwards, exhaling sharply.

"Alright, let's get this shit over with!"

--------------------

At this point, we were all standing by the doorway, the enemies solely focused on the fledgling Hero. I watched him disappear and reappear, shredding through the enemies with nothing but his fists and wits.

"I-is this the same guy who always makes corny ȧss jokes? The hell is this, he's like a completely different person," Rosie said. "It's kinda terrifying; it's like he's enjoying it or something…"

"Guess you can't be a Hero without a few screws loose. And here I thought he was pretty upstanding guy," my partner muttered, blowing a bubble as her yellow eyes whirred in and out sporadically.

"Master still has yet to kill anyone though," Anna said. "Master has taken out 55, no, 60 of the 100 enemies now."

"The hell isn't he killing them for?" I muttered. Could he really be that naïve? And yet look at him, he's crushing enemies like he was born to do it. It's almost like he's not even human at this point…

"It's kinda impressive in its own right. He's going at it alone, and yet hasn't killed a single person. Its both charming and daring in its own way," Rebecca said. "If he screws up even once he could die."

"The rest of the enemies have arrived towards the roof with the grey-haired man," Anna said. "And it seems Master has stopped for the time being, having taken out 68 of them."

-------------------

I kicked up the second to last piece up towards the ceiling, where it stuck with a click. I sighed, grabbing the last piece from my pocket.

"I was really hoping to take out some more, but I think I should be fine with dealing with 32 of them, even if one of them is on the rank of squadron commander."

I appeared by the stairs, now inside the tallest collapsed building in this enclosure. I scowled as I saw the rest of the stairs in rubble below me before scratching my head.

"Do I seriously have to do that?" I grumbled, looking towards the only other way up, the window. The building was tilted in a way so that I could run up the outside, although it was going to be terribly steep. Oh, and also make me an easy target. That too.

I sighed, pumping myself up. "It's only 32 people shooting at you, how bad could it be? Maybe they'll all miss like St*rm Tr**pers." I hopped out the window, immediately starting to slip down from both gravity and friction.

I grabbed the windowsill, glancing up towards the roof. They couldn't shoot me from here, but once I started running, it would be about another 30 yards before I would reach the roof.

"Well, what's life without a little excitement huh!?" I pulled myself forward, using my momentum to get a running start, where I was met with 20 guns all aimed downwards.

"Fire at will men! There's no way he can-!"

I tapped the grey-haired man on the shoulder, glancing around. He was at the center of the circle, meaning I was surrounded by 31 enemies.

"You know, if you had started shooting as soon as I hopped out the window, I might've actually been in some trouble then. So uh, thanks for underestimating me?"

He leapt backwards, and it was here I was able to get a closer look at him. He was on the older side, probably in his late 50's, and had a glowering face. Wait, my bad, his face was only like that because I pissed him off.

"You-!"

"Are my son!?" I clutched my heart, shocked. "I can't believe it, but it really is you father! I mean, your race and facial structure changed, plus your age, but it's really you!"

He blinked at me, tilting his head as he narrowed his eyes at me. "In my 50 years of service, I don't think I've had the pŀėȧsurė of dealing with such an individual. I will admit that you surprised me by taking out the majority of our forces, but that was all cheap tricks."

I watched as he ripped off his uniform, revealing a set of custom made energy armor that was slowly covering his entire body. "I don't care if you are a Hero, not even you can rip through armor made from pure energy."

The armor finished off with a helmet with plenty of spikes (typical bad guy style), and I watched as it crackled with green energy. "Now, do you really think you're capable of beating me?"

I raised up my hands, letting out a chuckle. "Under normal circumstances, no, I would probably be dead. But again, that would be under normal circumstances."

I opened up my hand, revealing my final piece. "But I'm pretty sure I win with this thing."

He scoffed, starting to laugh at me. "You really think that pathetic thing will help? I know what that is, and the range is small; yes, you might be able to beat me if you use it, but it's one time use and can easily be broken from the outside. So even if you do beat me, you'll have these 31 enemies to deal with, all aimed at you."

"That's where you're wrong." I tossed the piece between my hands, smiling at him. "Like you said, under normal circumstances, I would be screwed. But tell me, have you thought about what might happen if those pieces were scattered around in strategic places? If placed properly, they would make a pretty big field don't you think?"

His eyes widened underneath his helmet. "Even if that were true, there's no way for you to complete it. The uppermo-!"

I clenched the last piece, grinning. "Yep, you figured it out. I already placed 19 of the 20 pieces. But in order to place the final piece, I would need to be high up enough so that I could throw it in place. And luckily for me, you decided to conveniently place the rest of your troops up where I need to be, so I thank you for that." I inhumanly dodged a barrage of energy shots, getting out unscathed. "If only you did that earlier!"

I threw the last piece towards the center of the encirclement of collapsed buildings, where it flew up towards the center of my makeshift circle.

"And activate." I shot my finger gun as the piece glowed green.

And I could only laugh as the rest of the enemies screamed out in pain from their energy-based weapons implode.

Yep, that's an Energy Neutralizing Pulse, or ENP for short, for yah.

I watched as their bodies twitched on the ground, frowning to myself. They shouldn't have died right?

"I-I can't believe this occurred."

What the, that old guy is still conscious!? I looked back to see his body twitching, still on his feet. He should've taken the most damage out of everyone, since the armor covered most of his body.

"You really are something kid. Even without the Hero's weapon, you still managed to do all this." He looked up towards the sky, falling to his knees. "Y-you're going to be a real monster once you get that thing. But it's my loss…"

He fell forward, finally passing out. I took a shaky breath, the tension leaving my body.

"For a second there I thought he might've been some sort of superhuman. If he really was, I would've been screwed for sure," I said.

I walked up towards the edge of the roof, where I could see Anna and the others appear out of the makeshift building.

I grinned and gave Anna a thumbs up. "Complete and total victo-!"

Oh crap, not again.

I felt myself falling down, falling quite a ways. Oh, I fell off the building then. Well shit.

"Master overworked himself again," Anna said, and through my fading consciousness I managed a weak smile.

"Told yah, I could do it…" Ah shit, can't believe this happened again. And I wasn't even able to reach her this time either.

Next time for sure, no matter what, I will bring you back…

And the last thing I thought was the name I had come up for the girl who was running away…

"Master overworked himself again," Anna said, and Hiro muttered something incoherent before passing out in her arms.

"H-he really managed to do it," Raquez said, staring at the boy. "Crazy kid pulled it off."

"He's pretty much unscathed as well. It really is something huh?" Beatrice said, looking up at me. "Hmm? Something wrong Rob?"

"We just bore witness to a Hero Triumph. If it didn't happen right in front of me, I wouldn't believe it." I walked up to Anna, glancing down at Hiro, who was covered head to toe with the grounded down materials that run rampant in this wasteland. There was some blood on his shoes and fists, but it wasn't his own. Other than that, he really seemed alright.

"Who the hell cares about that, I'm just glad I'm fuċkɨnġ alive," Rory said. "The sooner we get out of this hellhole the better. We should consider those weapons of ours lost. No way in hell they would still be there."

I shook my head. Right, we're still not in the clear. "Alright, let's aim for a tactical retreat. It's not over until every one of us goes through that portal, got it!?"

"Sir!" They all yelled out, and together we all rushed towards the exit.

---------------------

In what would later be known as the fight of 1 vs 100, 100th Hero Hiro singlehandedly took out all 100 enemies, including two Captains of the ATF, with nothing more than his fists, wit, and 1 ENP.
