Time Traveling Hero

Chapter 7 - Unnamed Boy Joins The Hidden Club PT. 1/2

I was running late to school again, so after saying my goodbye's to my adorable lil' sis, I made my way to the backyard and called Raijin for a test flight.

"Come, Raijiin!" I yelled out to the sky, somehow knowing that he would answer my call.

About 30 seconds past before I could see his shape flying toward me. Luckily, it was cloudy this morning, so I didn't have to worry about people commenting on a giant bird in the sky. Although, that wouldn't be the first weird thing to happen in this town...

Raijin landed with a Whoosh!, some of his yellow feathers falling gently down onto the ground. He squawked at me before kneeling down.

I rubbed his beak. "Good bird. Hope you had fun out in the real world," I muttered gently looking him all over.

My inspection over, I hopped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Well, here we go!" And with that statement, we were off, soon flying over the overcast clouds, wind blowing on my face fiercely as I held on for dear life.

Shit, this is kinda terrifying! I thought to myself as I clung on even tighter to his feathers. But...

As I looked at the rising sun in front of me, with the wind now giving way to a gentle breeze, I couldn't help but grin to myself. I allowed myself to relax a bit, and was soon able to sit up straight.

I couldn't help but laugh as I raised my arms above my head, enjoying the ride. I mean, how often do people fly on a giant bird?

"Whoo Hoo!" I yelled out, and Raijin looked back at me, with a look that said I can do better than this.

And we started to climb higher and higher in the air, the view making it seem like I was seeing a sea of clouds. Raijin cawed at me in warning, and then we descended, nose diving toward the large expanse of clouds. He started to twirl in a spiral as we hit the clouds, and soon I could see the school.

He straightened out and landed gently on the rooftop, the exhilarating experience now over. I hopped off and started to gently stroke his feathers. Seemingly proud of the show he put on for me, he held himself up a little higher, sticking out his yellow b.r.e.a.s.t in pride.

"You did good for our first flight Raijin." I said, agreeing with his sudden burst of pride. "Still, I wonder if you have a smaller form?" Nah, that would be too convenient.

As if answering my question, Raijin slowly started to shrink, until he was about the size of a hawk. He looked up at me, awaiting my next order. I guess some things are just that convenient.

"Well, I guess you can just hang around the school. Don't do anything stupid."

Nodding his head, he extended his lightning patterned wings and flew off, probably off to hunt.

I made my way down the stairs, locking the door to the roof behind me. Curious at how fast I made it to class, I checked my phone. It would normally take me about thirty minutes of running straight to get here in time, and even then I would barely be able to get in my seat before the final bell rung.

"Wait, it only took me 2 minutes?" I said, stopping in the middle of the hallway in shock. I expected it to take at least 5 minutes, but 2? I guess I made a good choice on not killing Raijin.

I put my phone back into my pocket and made my way to my first class, which was AP Calculus BC, on the second floor. I walked into the class to see the silver haired girl in the seat behind me, looking out the window. Now that I think about it, I hadn't seen her at all yesterday.

I dropped my backpack next to me seat before sitting down. Now that I think about it, what the hell do I do? I'm never this early, due to my hobbies taking up most of my nights. I wonder what people do besides go to class in school?

I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was the silver haired girl, who still had her emotionless expression on her pretty face.

"What's up?" I asked, not exactly knowing what she wanted. After our conversation two days ago, she had mysteriously disappeared, so I had no clue what exactly to say to her.

"I still don't know what to call you," she replied.

I couldn't help but put my hand to my face and sigh. I guess I was worried for nothing.

"Again, that doesn't really matter. And no, I'm not going to the Time Resistance Task Force either." I said before turning back around.

"Although, if you really want to call me something, I guess you could call me master," I muttered, hoping she didn't hear me.

"Affirmative, I will call you Master from now on."

"Wait just a second, don't call me master for real now!" I retorted, spinning back around to the girl who took my statement far too literally.

"Call who master?" said a familiar voice.

It was Depra, who was still wearing the same outfit from yesterday, his hair even more unkempt than usual.

"He told me to call him Master, so that is what I will do," Model 114141 replied simply.

"Really, I didn't think he was into that..." He responded, clearly misunderstanding.

"I said it as joke, but I forgot kuudere's don't understand the complexity's of emotions too well when you first meet them."

"Kuudere's...?" Depra responded, confused.

"Correct, that is what I am, according to Master. However, I am too 'uneducated' to understand the intricacy's of that word."

Depra's usual sad face now had an extra layer of confusion to it. "I really don't get it, but okay?"

"Ugh, this is what happens when I try to joke around, huh?"

"Still though, I didn't think you actually talked to anyone other than me. Are you perhaps trying to change?" Depra commented while taking his seat, which was next to mine.

"I'm fine the way I am, thank you very much. I like the peace and quiet of my life. I don't need anymore excitement than usual," I said before turning my head toward the window.

"Hmm, I see..." Depra trailed off, his sad eyes downcast.

"By the way, are you all right? You're still wearing the same clothes as yesterday," I commented, looking at him using the window.

"Oh, am I? Didn't even realize," he said, looking down at his outfit. "Yeah, it was pretty rough last night. I ended up staying at Lachesis' house instead of my own," he said, sadness emanating from his voice.

Lachesis? Oh right, the girl from yesterday. Deciding against asking anymore, I decided to change the subject. "Still I'm surprised. I didn't think anyone else in this school was taking the same rigorous courses I was besides the student council president."

"Oh yeah, I guess I am smart, huh? I don't really think about it too much. I'm just average though, not on the same level as the president."

"Master, you must be smart as well for you to be taking these classes," the girl behind me butted in.

"Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?" I said scowling before turning toward her. "And I told you when we first met, I'm a bonafide genius!" I gave her a grin and thumbs up.

"Of course, I believe you now. I still have a long way to go before I am 'educated' as Master calls it."

My grin fell way to another scowl and a glare. "Again, it was a joke! Stop calling me that!"

It was going to be a long day.

It was about 4:00 now, and it was time for after-school activities for most. As for me, I had finished my daily job rather early, and was lounging around on the roof.

I pulled out my necklace, something I normally wore at all times, and decided to examine it. On my necklace was a key, with the handle of the key having gears in it, making it have a clock like feel. As far as I knew, it didn't actually open up to anything, but there was some peculiar things about it though...

My thoughts got disturbed by a sudden slamming of a door opening. I put my necklace back under my shirt and looked over at the culprit.

"Ah, I see you're done! Good, I have something I want you to do!"

Walking toward me, with her black hair in a ponytail, and her green eyes clearly planning trouble for me, was none other than Eris.

I sat up and frowned. "Shouldn't you have teacher related things to do?"

"I'm taking a well deserved break, thank you very much!" she responded cheerfully, a smile reaching her face. I seriously don't understand this woman sometimes.

"Alright then, what do you want? I'd rather not deal with anything bothersome." Oh, how bothersome it was.

"I've decided that you no longer have any need to do your daily job!" She said, pulling me up from off the ground.

Wait, seriously? But, there was still quite a bit I didn't understand about it...

Sensing my future protest, she stopped me from protesting with her next statement. "I know you still have some things to figure out, but I decided that you can figure it out on your own time. I already know you spend time at home working on it, so just continue what you're doing. And no more weekly reports for a grade either," she added at the very end, much to my surprise.

"You mean that!? Ugh, thank the heavens for that. That was so annoying to complete. So, I get to join the Going Home Club?"

"Nope! Instead, I have another club for you to join."

Another club? She already knew that I refused to join any clubs, despite the school's insistence on it. I was their top student after all, and they desperately wanted me to contribute to the school's prestige in some way. I refused, not wanting to deal with anything more troublesome. Besides, I wanted to get home to my adorable lil' sis as soon as possible with her delicious home cooked meals.

"I refuse. You already know that I don't care for clubs. The Going Home Club is enough for me."

She pouted at my response, fully knowing what it was going to be. "At least come check it out for a day. Please?" she begged rather cutely. It was a strange sight, having a teacher beg a student for something.

"... I'll come with you to check it out," I muttered, averting my gaze from those pouty eyes.

"... Really? I thought I would've had to drag you there," she responded, clearly shocked at how little effort I put into resisting.

In truth, I really don't know why I agreed. But, maybe it had to do with his feelings that he tried so hard to hide from others...

I suddenly got embraced by Eris. "Thank you. I know you'll love it, trust me," she murmured in my ear, as I felt a sense of relief as she relaxed her body.

Not completing the embrace by wrapping my arms around her, I waited until she was done before turning away.

"So, where abouts is this place?"

"Just follow your big sis, and she'll guide you to your goal 100% of the time!"

Scowling at her last statement, I followed her down the stairs from the roof until we reached the door leading outside. We continued walking, passing by many sports teams practicing, until we reached an old, worn down building on the outskirts of the campus.

"Isn't this the old school building? What are doing all the way out here?" I asked, slowly getting curious on what type of club she was taking me to.

She looked behind me with her usual mischievous grin. "You'll see!"

Frowning at her statement, I followed her inside while deep in my thoughts. As far I knew, there weren't any clubs in here. They wouldn't be allowed too anyway due to how worn down this place was. For the record, the old school building was rather small, with it being only one floor with about 10 rooms inside. It was used as a small school when the town was first being built up, being a elementary, middle, and high school all in one, until the town grew out of it. Soon, it was discarded and left on the campus of the new high school, where I believed it's now mostly used for storage that the school didn't really need anymore.

My thoughts got interrupted as I accidentally ran into Eris, who had stopped in front of one of the rooms.

"Is this the place?" I asked hesitantly, now completely unsure of what sort of club this was.

"Yep, this is the place. It looks like only one person is here right now, but they should be able to explain what this club is about," she said before opening up the sliding door.

"Welcome to the Hidden Club!"
