Traveling The Anime Multiverse As Nurarihyon

Chapter 18 - Seaside violence! Part 1

"They really picked such a cliche location as their pick up spot." I say to myself examining the location I currently find myself in.

After getting the information from the thug I wasn't really surprised that they were running this whole operation from an abandoned seaside warehouse down by the pier. You'd think they would know better than to pick something that seems straight out of Clue but your average everyday criminal isn't really that smart. Although I guess this isn't that bad considering the current time period. Right now I find myself in the year 1997. The differences between the late 2000's and now are are as big as the ones between the stone and iron age. The internet is still in it's infancy, the attack on the world trade center hasn't happened yet and crime is a whole different type of beast.

People think that politicians in our time are corrupt but those can't hold a candle up to the ones during this period. Anyone from the head of state to a simple mayor could be in the pocket of any mafioso or yakuza. The only thing stopping heinous crimes like human trafficking during these times are surprisingly other criminals themselves.

The ordinary populace might think that all criminal organizations dabble in such things and even worse but that couldn't be farthest from the truth. Crime gets smarter as times go on and there isn't anything dumber than committing a crime that might get not only the authorities and common populace on your back but also other crooks. Even criminals are humans at the end of the day and just because someone dabbles in money laundering, extortion, loan sharking or conning doesn't mean that they would as modern day citizens sit on the side and watch someone get sold as a slave of any variety because we live in a society.

To summarize it during these times what determines the safety of a city ain't the rate of crime but who is at the top and what crimes are they willing to commit.

All of this is relevant in this conversation because that means that if something as big as slave traffic is happening then whoever is at the top must be fully aware of it and is surely running it.

This lone fact makes my blood boil but not fore the reasons that most people imagine or at least not entirely.

This is the mother f.u.c.k.i.n.g Kanto region of Japan. Alternate world or not Kanto is where the Nura clan was born... my f.u.c.k.i.n.g area!

Just the thought that someone would dare to commit a crime like this through Kanto leaves me seething with rage. I ran this place for 400+ years and during the entirety of that time no yokai or human dared to cross my bottom line. The fact that my home and backyard is being dirtied by something like this is enough to cause a massacre.

Suddenly two familiar voices loudly drag me away from the surfacing madness.

"Oi, Rihan you f.u.c.k.i.n.g bastard how dare you lead us into the restaurant to eat and then leave when it's time to pay the che-" Yura who came along side Inuyasha stopped that sentence after getting a good look at my face.

"How did you find me so quickly?" I say trying my absolute best to not sound like I'm not feeling like ripping the head off of something.

"Well, while on the run from the restaurant employees we detected an energy fluctuation eerily similar to how what your feels when you're angry. We then got too that place shortly after you apparently left and and found two mutilated bodies and dog breath was able to follow not only your sent but also the sent of the blood emanating from you. It wasn't really that hard. What I do want to know not that I really care or anything but why did you kill those two aren't you like... on humanities side?" Yura said to me warily looking at my face.

"Yeah, I also wondered about that. Back in the forest after the old hag offended you along side the villagers you didn't do anything besides give them a beating." Inuyasha joined in while standing next to her arms crossed and a stoic look in his face.

"Why the hell would I kill innocent villagers that are only trying to protect themselves without any maliciousness. I don't need to prove my d.i.c.k is bigger than everyone else that badly. As long as somebody doesn't cross my bottom line then I don't see why I can't meet them halfway and be amicable. It's not like I have anything that I need to overcompensate for." I say in a matter of fact manner.

"The I pity the poor soul that dared to cross that line and made you resign yourself to such actions." Yura answered back to me.

Hearing her say that I could only chuckle in response.

"So, what are WE going to do about this incident." She said following her last line.

"First off, I need to figure out exactly how many people there are inside of this warehouse. Inuyasha is going to be the one to figure that out for us." I say grinning after hearing what she said and look at Inuyasha.

"There are at least a hundred guys inside of this place. I can also pick up the sent of multiple women... at least double the number of men." Inuyasha said surprisingly not making a fuss about me giving him an order.

"Good, the first requirement is easily accomplished two more to go. Secondly, I'm going to need both of you to limit their visibility by destroying the warehouse's lights. It's already night time and without the lights they will think twice about shooting their weapons."

"Why, although I don't know much about human weapons in this time period I doubt that anything the have could potentially hurt us even if charge straight ahead." Yura said while tilting her head.

"It's not us that I'm worried about but the hostages. I don't want any stray bullet hitting any of the hostages involved in this situation."

"Ok" Both of them said while looking straight at me.

"Last but not least I want you to leave anyone who looks important untouched. You can do anything you want with the lackeys but I have a few questions to asks the one running the show. I can't have you ending him without my permission."

"How will we know who is the one running the show if we've never seen his face?" Yura said to me while looking puzzled.

"That one's really easy to tell my dear Watson. The one being surrounded by a bunch of people with forgettable faces while barking orders is usually the one in charge." I answered her with a grin.

[A/N: Here is that shiny new chapter I promised. I'm sorry that it's a little short but I'm still not at a full one hundred percent and I'm feeling somewhat tired. I'm going to try to make the next one a little longer to make up for it though. Anyhow, as always I hope you enjoyed it and share your thoughts. See you on the next chapter. BYE!]
