[A/N: Sorry for the lack of updates the last four days. I got really sick and really wasn't in the mood to write anything. I was debating whether or not to release a short notice about it but as a reader I hate it when I get a notification that a novel that I like just released something but then it turns out that it's not a chapter so I wasn't gonna put you through that. Though being sick made me think about the release schedule that I had planned. Do you guys want slower releases with bigger chapters or faster with a smaller amount? because I don't know if I can churn out 3k+ chapters every day as it takes me a substantial amount of time to make a 1k+ chapter every day especially as I'm doing this on my phone. Anyway, tell me what you think as it might affect the release schedule for the future chapters... now that I got that out of the way let's get onto the chapter. :)]

"What... are you talking about."

After he said that his eyes rolled to the back and he passed out.

'Well, I guess with the beating that he just recieved and the fact that he was just unsealed after fifty years he would be at the end of his rope. But never mind that there's a more pressing situation going on around me.'

As I begin to look around I noticed that all of the villagers around me are sporting terrified looks on their faces.

"You know it doesn't really help the situation if you guys wear that look in your face while pointing your weapons at someone that just helped you out." I say while letting out a sigh.

"You, who are you really? It would take a yokai of great calibur to handle inuyasha like you just have. For what purpose have you come here?" Say the old miko with a ster look on her face not moving a single muscle.

"As I said to the kid, I'm not really here for the shikon jewel if that's what you're trying to insinuate. I was just "in the neighborhood" heard a ruckus in the nearby vicinity and decided to check it out. I don't really have any ulterior motive for interfering in this whole ordeal besides just teaching the kid a lesson."

I found that in life it's better to tell half truth's in most situations like this rather than outright lying. Although I don't condemn lying if it's convenient for lol's or to get the ball rolling. But something tells me that not even that answer is going to cut it for this particular instance.

"Heh, I wish I could believe you but I just can't take any chances in this situation. I was primarily going to use this for the omukade or in a emergency situation if it called for it Inuyasha but this is just as good a use for it."

The old miko kaede says that while calmly pulling out an object that I immediately recognized as the kotodama from within her kimono and I instantly begin to move.

The kotodama in her hands turns into multiple rays of light which start to move towards the spot where I was previously standing. The rays of light changed direction chasing me but they are to late as I already reached my destination.

"Kawarimi no jutsu!!!" I shout as I grabbed inuyasha's limp passed out body in the direction of the incoming light.

"THE HELL!?!?!" Kaede screamed as she saw the light envelop inuyasha's body.

The light quickly disappeared and around inuyasha's neck a really recognizable colla-... i mean necklace appeared.

I mentally breathe a sigh of relief.

'It would of been really uncool if I had been the one stuck with that thing around my neck.' I thought while drying the cold sweat of my forehead.

The Kotodama no Nenju otherwise known as the the Beads of Subjugation in the English dub, is the title of the prayer beads/necklace/collar that inuyasha wears around his neck. When activated by the use of a particular word, the beads glow and bring the wearer under control (in a manner of speaking). In Inuyasha's case, it's usually referred to as the "sit" command.

Originally, Kikyo(Kagome's previous incarnation) was to be the one that was going to put the beads on Inuyasha in order to make sure he behaved. She told the young at the time old miko that she was going to trick him into wearing them by telling him they were a gift. She admitted it was a bit underhanded, but by that point, she had already decided she wasn't going to kill him, but knew he might still cause some mischief. She ultimately decided against it and made an excuse after he gifted her with one of his late mother's treasures: a shell of rouge. Kikyō had intended the keyword to be "beloved."

Fifty years later, a desperate Kagome would release Inuyasha from his seal so he could kill mistress centipede. Of course, not three seconds after dispatching the demon, he turned on Kagome, intent on taking the shikon jewel for himself. She was originally supposed to run leading to him giving chase to her, prepared to do whatever he had to get it, even kill. During the pursuit, Kaede uttered a chant and the beads found their way around Inuyasha's neck. She then told Kagome to "say the word."

Thinking of his dog ears, Kagome said the first thing that came to mind: "osuwari", meaning "sit (to a dog)". The beads glowed and brought Inuyasha slamming to the ground. (He was actually standing on a bridge at that moment, so he slammed straight down through the wood and into the water below.) From that point, it became a running gag throughout the entire series. While the beads were specifically made to prevent Inuyasha from attacking Kagome or other people, Kagome, in most cases and thanks to her own impulsiveness, somewhat abuses this power for trivial matters i.e. whenever Inuyasha acted like his rude, prideful self or when he somehow irritated Kagome too much.

The beads will play a small, but vital role in the development of Inuyasha's character, keeping him from harming Kagome long enough to start to care for her and others but that for another time.

"Old hag, it's really not fair to just randomly use that on people while having casual conversation."

"I don't wanna talk about fairness with an ayakashi that uses the body of another individual as a meat shield. Men, surround him and do not let him escape! Try to keep him in one place long enough so I can use a spiritual arrow on him."

'You really shouldn't scream your plans out loud in front of your enemies.' I though as I appear in front of Kagome and take nenekirimaru of her hand.

"I'll be taking this back if you don't mind." I say with a reassuring smile.

"Ok." She absentmindedly answers back.

"Now, we really should rap this up already before daylight comes. I know I'm not the only one that needs a good night's rest." I say while unsheathing nenekirimaru.

Unlike in the battle before this were I could still hear inuyasha grumbling and shouting in the background the villagers and the priestess are so quiet that you could probably hear a pin drop right now.

*gulp* I hear from one of the villagers.

"ATAAAAAACCKKKK!!!!" One of the villagers screamed.

And with that the battle started as the villagers let out a war cry.

I lazily hold nenekirimaru in a standard kendo stance as I see the fifty men coming towards me. I don't really need to stress too much about this situation. No matter how many of them there are they are just villagers and during this period of time just the food shortages themselves leaves them in a state where they could just tumble over from a hit. I can make quick work of them. What I really need to worry about is Kaede's arrows.

From then on I move systematically cutting them down by the dozens not using any big movements making sure there is always someone in the line of fire so I can lead where and when the arrow comes towards me if it comes down to it. I can hear the shouts of pain and anguish but I pay them no mind. It seems that the old priestess can not do the same.

"ENOUGH!!! All of you still alive with enough energy to retreat do so. It seems that "ulterior motives" or not all of you ayakashi are the same willing to go to cruel and nefarious methods to achieve your goals." She says with an angry look in her face.

Although I won't deny that, it was you the one that refused to talk things out this creating this situation. While I can imagine where that bias against ayakashi comes from it doesn't justify attacking a person without them giving you a real reason to do so. In the first place it's not like I've done anything bad yet. Nenekirimaru is a yokai slaying blade forged through Onmyou Jutsu it can not be used to inflict actual harm upon humans. You can check their bodies if you want. They probably passed out due to the pain and exhaustion." I say with a smug grin.

"Impossible!" She says as she hurries to check on the downed villagers.

"It's true?!? But how... why would a yokai such as yourself carry a blade only capable of killing yokai."

"Not to avoid the question or anything but can we talk about this at a later date? Also it would be great if you could give me temporary lodging. I'll have to bring the kid along to make sure he doesn't cause trouble. If anything happens I'll take full responsibility. Maybe consider it payment for helping you guys out." I say with a bright smile on my face.

To my mention of bringing inuyasha along she raised her eyebrows.

*sigh*"Fine, but as you said I'll have you take full responsibility for ANY problems he causes."

"I wouldn't have it any other way. afterall, he will be a member of my hyakki yakou. Can you lead us somewhere where I can sleep in peace."
