Trials Of Love: The Romantic Goddess

Chapter 14 - Two Fateful Nights!

_____________

THE PREVIOUS NIGHT

After hearing an explosive sound, Mina saw a red bolt of lightning coming her way, as the red lightning hit her exactly in the head, though strangely, no injuries appeared anywhere on her body!

'Well, since I willed no injury to appear, of course it wouldn't.' I pondered to myself.

However, the moment the bolt of lightning hit her in the head, Mina completely lost consciousness as she fell on the floor, no longer awake.

But some seconds later, oddly, her eyelashes started fluttering as her eyes slowly barely opened.

However, if someone carefully studied her irises, with the clear intention of finding a difference in them, that person would probably realize that Mina's brown eyes had a little shade of red mixed in it now.

'What's going on? Didn't I just die in Kay's arms...? Where am I... What place is this... Is this the afterlife?' And after these thoughts went through her mind, she stood up, as she wanted to leave this alley in order to find out what was going on.

'Stop there, lil beauty… hehe, it's not your time yet, so sleep peacefully for now…' As this thought passed through my head and became my will, she passed out.

Well, you must've realized by now… that, at this moment, the person who was just conscious wasn't Mina… but Scarlet!

THE NEXT DAY

Mina continued to cry for a long time when finally after she had calmed down a little, with red eyes, as tears still existed in the corners of her eyes, she realized that an umbrella was being held above her sitting body.

Looking at the owner of the holder of the umbrella, she spotted a charming man holding the umbrella in a way so nobody would be able to see while he himself was also looking elsewhere!

'Tch!' This thought went through my head, the Goddess, however, that was the end of my line of thought.

"What are you doing?" Mina uttered with a voice that screamed she had just cried.

Seeing that the girl seems to have calmed down, the man smiled at her face as he inquired, "Miss, are you feeling better now? I just thought you wouldn't want others to see you like that… that's why…"

Standing up, Mina looked up at the man in front of her carefully first.

She realized that at a closer distance, he was even more charming… that curvy black hair of his, those big black eyes… together with that bronze skin seemed to work in an excellent way in great harmony, thus making a very charming face.

'Hmph, he's no 'charming', alright?' Unable to tolerate, a thought went through my head again.

"There was no need for that… anyway…" As she was about to say 'thank you' to him, out of habit, she reached her hand in order to touch the necklace she had been wearing from a very young age.

However, abruptly, her expression froze, because she realized… there was nothing around her neck at all!

And with that realization, her expression instantly went very pale! Even paler than before to be more exact… as other than feeling sorrow, grief, etc… she was now also in a panic!

Catching that change in her expression, the charming man in front of her uttered, "Are you okay, miss? Did something happen?"

However, not answering the man in front of her at all, Mina began shaking a little over the thought of losing that necklace, but calming herself forcefully, she pondered, 'Think Mina... think! Where could you have lost it? When was it gone... hmm maybe it fell in the company just now...'

The moment this thought struck her, she was already on her way running as she went back to the company and began looking everywhere to the shock of the staffs there who had just watched her get fired a few moments ago.

"What's going on?"

"Has she gone mad?"

"What's wrong with her?"

"Can't she understand she's been fired? Or is this her last effort to come back to work and get rehired?"

The staffs began to murmur and gossip among themselves as they watched Mina in both disdain and mock.

Though there was another person who was watching Mina without any words, that was… Thana.

Just now, when Mina had gotten dismissed from work, out of fear of offending Leylah, she had just watched Mina get fired and even after she was leaving the work brokenly, Thana didn't even try to comfort her as she had avoided her entirely.

Now, Thana was feeling somewhat guilty inside…

Nevertheless, she still only watched her friend from afar, without any intention of getting closer than that.

'Tch… what a friend she is… a useless friend who's no true friend in the end.' I, the Goddes, pondered to myself again.

For hours, even after it had gotten dark outside, while hearing the silent sound of the drops of rain making contact with the window of the office, Mina searched everywhere without any rush since she had already explained to the company that she had lost her necklace… and they had reluctantly allowed her to look around for it.

But to her dismay and disappointment, it was nowhere to be found, when finally, she remembered last night, the place she was struck by lightning, 'Maybe… maybe it fell there when I fell on the ground and became unconscious!'

And with that thought, once again, she was on the move without thinking about the dangers that may lay ahead at this time of the night.

Around half an hour passed when she was finally at that alley… again.

But the moment she entered there, she was horrified and shocked at the sight of someone sitting in a dark corner without moving at all, 'What's that?!? Who's that?'

"Who's there?" Mina uttered in a low voice. By now, the rain was also intensifying more and more, but that person seemed not to care about it at all.

Abruptly, fear overtook Mina as she thought that maybe that person was sitting there in order to ambush anyone who passed by.

As a result of that fear, she instantly decided to forget about her necklace for now as she turned around and made a decision to leave promptly and come back tomorrow, but as she turned around… she heard a low murmur that lacked any kind of power in it, "Help… me…"

Hearing the small murmur, Mina froze in her place, as she stood there unmoving for some time… but eventually, she couldn't bring herself to leave just like that, as she slowly turned around and began to cautiously walk toward him.
