Trials Of Love: The Romantic Goddess

Chapter 35 - Let Me See For Myself!

After escaping from that place which Mina could only call hell, she directly took a taxi before returning to her uncle's house. On the way there, with her trembling hands which still had some traces of blood's redness on themselves, Amara went through her purse.

She was doing this because she was so stressed that she kept doubting that she might've forgotten to bring the handkerchief by which she had cleaned her hands.

Although she clearly remembered she had put it inside her bag, she still wanted to make sure.

And indeed, after taking a glimpse of the interior of her bag, her eyes spotted the bloody handkerchief there.

Unfortunately, what made her blood run cold the next moment and stumped her was the fact that other than the handkerchief, there was also other blood-covered stuff within her purse!

One of them was the rope by which she had been tied up.

"H-how could this be? Who put it in there?" Full of disbelief and terror, she questioned the entire situation and the mystery of it.

"What did you say, miss? I couldn't hear you." Mistaking her talking to him, the taxi driver said.

"N-nothing. I was talking to myself."

"Oh, alright."

Arriving at the house, the first thing Mina did was to rush to their backyard as she dumped everything within her purse together with the purse itself into the fire pit before she set them aflame. Of course, that was with the exception of her phone which she picked up and excluded from everything else.

A while later, as she was nervously watching everything burn into nothing but ash in utter silence, all of a sudden, a noise from behind her promptly attracted her attention as it snapped her out of it, "Mina, what are you doing? What's that you're burning in the fire pit?"

The voice belonged to none other than her cousin, Morana.

Startled a great deal, Mina jumped in her standing spot before turning around and looking at her cousin in absolute shock. She was shocked still and didn't know how to react for a while.

Still, understanding she had to say something, in the end, she could barely phrase in a broken manner, "N-nothing…"

Mina's mind was currently so occupied with the scene of those terrifying corpses and the pieces of possible evidence she was burning at the moment that she didn't even recall the betrayal of her cousin, Morana.

"Let me see for myself." Nonetheless, feeling suspicious about what she was burning, Morana walked before the fire and took a deep look at the stuff within the fire pit.

Fortunately, everything had already nearly burned to a crisp and all that could be seen now was the rough outward shape of the melting purse.

"Is that your purse you're burning? What the actual f.u.c.k…" Abruptly turning toward Mina, who was still shivering a little due to some unknown reasons, Morana didn't know what to make out of this situation even though she badly wanted to.
