Unfortunate Romance

Chapter 11 - Take Responsibility

Feng Ting's hand fell away and she could feel his gaze burning behind her.

She moved away instinctively. " Ah yes?"

"Sit." Jiang Tianming returned to his seat, watching as she sat in front of him.

In reality, although his eyes never looked at her, he was aware of her every move. The way she acted . . . as if they were strangers. His eyes shuttered.

Feng Ting tapped the fingers. She didn't know why, but her instincts told her something bad was about to happen.

"Marry me."

Feng Ting nearly fell off her chair in shock. Her eyes popped open.

No, she must have heard wrong.

She gaped at him. His expression was unchanged like he had asked about the weather.

No, there was nothing wrong with her ears.

"Are you serious?"

Jiang Tianming nodded.

Feng Ting wanted to smack this guy. Did he get dropped on his head when he was a child?

She knew the answer but she asked anyway. "Why?"

Was it to hide his s.e.x.u.a.lity to the world? He would have come out eventually right? Besides, why her of all people?!

But his answer stunned her.

"You should take responsibility."

Feng Ting's mind blanked. She paused. Take responsibility? For what?

Jiang Tianming watched the girl fidget over his words. His eyes shone with faint amus.e.m.e.nt.

"Tokyo, Japan. Sakura Hotel."

Feng Ting really fell off the chair this time.

Her face blanched.

She scrambled backward, stuttering. "This . . . this . . . "

Images were flashing through her mind. Within the dark room she had stumbled into. A blinding screen and warm body. When she awoke with clothes messed up and a stranger in the shower.

She didn't remember his face and wiped all the cameras of her existence. So how did he . . .

No, that wasn't important right now. She had slept with the Jiang Tianming of all people! Actually from what she recalled, it was more like she jumped him . . .

The business king of the country!

What would he do her? This was so troublesome!

"CEO Jiang, I don't understand what you are implying." Feng Ting decided that feigning ignorance was the best way.

Jiang Tianming smirked at her. Interesting. So she was going to deny it. Very well, he'll play along.

"Five nights ago, a woman assaulted my bodyguards and barged into my hotel room. Although she destroyed all electronic evidence, we still have DNA samples." He paused, eyes meeting her's. "I wonder if Miss Song is willing to compare her DNA with our samples."

Feng Ting bit her lip. She had left in such a rush for her flight that she didn't have time to clean up the scene. Moreover, she had thought the guy was a . . .

She sighed and decided to switch gears. "CEO Jiang truly is capable." Leaning back, she gave him a languid smile.

"Fine, I admit, I did get drunk and barged into your hotel room. However, due to the circ.u.mstances, you can understand I wasn't in the best state of mind. Moreover, we just slept and didn't do anything else. As a.d.u.l.ts, this kind of matter, we don't need to blow it out of proportion."

Feng Ting tapped her fingers, slightly nervous. "I apologize for the check if that's what you're angry about. I didn't know it was you. Either way, we can treat this as a one night stand kind of situation. We go our separate ways and move on with life."

Jiang Tianming's face darkened. Go separate ways? Move on? Heh, this little fox wanted to run away. For all his years alive, he had never met a woman who elicited the feeling she did to him that night.

Not to mention the other questions he had. His instincts were telling him she held the answer.

His smile turned wicked for a second, before he put on a forlorn expression. "Is that all you have to say after what you did?"

Feng Ting blanked. That wasn't the response she was expecting. "Err . . . "

He met her gaze, dark eyes flickering with emotion. He said slowly, "That night, you climbed onto my bed."

"But we didn't do anything." Feng Ting interrupted. Her face was turning red. "Nothing happened!" She was sure of this because she examined her body afterwards. Besides her clothes were on.

"All we did . . . was . . . sleep," her voice turned tinier as she saw his expression worsen.

"Right?" No response.

"Right?"

He still didn't answer, so she panicked. "You're a grown man. What could I have done to you?!"

What's with that look like she wronged him?! He looked at her like she was bastard who refused to take responsibility after raping a girl!

The look made her feel guiltier by the minute, but she really didn't think it was such a big deal. They just slept! For her, she had to sleep aside her senior sisters and brothers on most missions in her past life.

She didn't feel anything different about the situation.
