8. Karma Came Quickly

I almost blurted out the F word as I saw their happy faces.

I saw Ling Mubai’s face turn grim out of the corner of my eye, which made me feel the pleasure of revenge.

The pieces of broken glass lacerated my skirt and skin. I was bleeding.

I let out a small cry because of pain, and lay down on the table. My features twisted. Blood soaked my skirt and streamed down my legs.

The man who called me a slut a few moments ago said ironically, “Wow, look at the blood! Are you on your period when you entertain a man?”

If I could move, I would kick his balls with all my strength so that he couldn’t have sex any more.

Ling Mubai frowned, his face darkening. He came closer to me and lifted me with his arms. As he strode out, he said, “Uncle Long, sorry for offending you. She’s always careless. Tonight’s my treat. I’m really sorry.”

“Why can’t I? I am so mad that I even want to beat you up.” In a fury, Liang looked more agitated than me, “How dare you enrage Mr. Long? Don’t you know who he is? Do you think your life is too long?”

I wiped away his spittle on my face, and rolled up my sleeves. Before I threw my punches at him, Doudou stopped me.
