When A Ghoul Falls In Love

Eli becomes frozen when he sees the wounds on her body. It looks like a beast has just clawed her back. Her throat is bruised red and blue. All of this has happened right in front of him.

Is this a new method of torture?

Where is that Devil? That cat might know what is happening to Nell. The seal isn’t broken. She wasn’t dreaming either. Then, why did she have to go through this?

“Why am I useless right now?” Eli mumbles. How can he break this seal without hurting her?

Her body trembles when he touches her back. Eli whispers weakly, “Does it hurt that bad?”

“It’s fine.” She mumbles, “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”

He stares at her face. Her eyes are closed. Was she awake all this time? “When did you wake up?”

“Just a moment ago.” She opens her eyes and looks at him calmly. “If you always worry, you will have permanent wrinkles on your forehead.”

“Stay still.” Eli applies the ointment on her back slowly. She doesn’t make any noise. Healing powers are useless on her, but the leprechaun’s treasure is still effective. Though her wounds are healing slowly under the effect of the life treasure, he has a bad feeling about this.

By any chance, does only fae magic work on her body?

“I don’t know what you are thinking about.” Nell grumbles in annoyance, “But you should stop freaking out internally. I feel like you got my disease.”

“Nell, what disease are you talking about?” He smiles at her, running his fingers through her soft hair.

“Overthinking.” Nell gives him a sidelong glance. “It’s not a good thing. At first, it feels innocent. After all, you are only thinking. When you get addicted to overthinking, it’s a maze of self-destruction. Don’t be like me.”

His little human is just so cute. He pulls her into a hug and plants a kiss on her ear. How long has it been since he cuddled with her? Who cares! It has to be done now. Eli sucks on her earlobe while taking pleasure in sensing the thumping of her tiny heart and the rising heat in her cheeks. She doesn’t struggle like she used to. His lovely wife coils her arms around him, holding him tighter.

“Wife, are you ready to give me a proper kiss now?” He murmurs in her ear. “If you kiss me, I won’t overthink anything.”

“I was thinking about crushing you with a bear hug.”

“What?” Eli raises his brow, puzzled by her statement. If this is a bear hug, then all the bears will be ashamed of hugging from now on. But he decides to let her believe that she’s hurting him, especially when her soft b.r.e.a.s.ts are pressed against his chest. This feeling he doesn’t mind being crushed by his darling.

Seeing his blissful expression, Nell raises her head and bites his jaw hard until he bleeds. But the man doesn’t move at all. Instead, he rains kisses on her face.

“Ugh I told you to wait until the wedding!” Nell yells at him. “Stop nibbling on my skin.”

“Mercy, my beloved.” He places his finger under her chin, looking into her beautiful hazel eyes. “You know how difficult it is to wait.”

Nell purses her lips together. The temperature of his body is also affecting her. And god knows how difficult it is to keep a straight face when a fine man is looking at her with a burning gaze. “I want you to wear a bridal dress.”

“…” He’s speechless. Where did she get this idea? Shouldn’t he be wearing clothes for the groom?

“I think that you will look prettier in a bridal dress instead of me.” The corner of her lips curls up into a cunning smile. “I have seen you in a dress. I believe that a bridal robe would look good on you. It would be fun to disrobe you on our wedding night.”

His brain stops working when he hears the words ‘disrobe’ and ‘wedding night’. Nell has thought that far about him.

“I have been” Her voice breaks, startling him out of his stupor. He scrutinizes her face, trying to guess what she wanted to say.

“What I mean is” She gives him a small smile. “I will pamper you every day after we get married. Devil had been complaining that I don’t give you enough love. Let’s do everything in order, okay?”

He nods his head furiously, eyes shining like a puppy. They must do everything in order.

“First, we should get married. Then, we will have kids. I can’t give you more than a dozen kids. Let’s have only two. Besides, child care costs a lot.” Nell fists her hands, determined. “I don’t think that I can deal with more than two kids. If you still want more, then we can adopt. I don’t care what species they are. So, I will let you decide. I also want to”

Eli realizes that there’s nothing more beautiful than this feeling that he’s feeling right now. His love is seriously contemplating living her life with him. Although she has admitted that she still wants to end her life, he can see that she’s trying for him. A life with her. Whether they have kids or not, all he wants is a future with her.

She trails off, lost in thoughts. Nell taps her chin. “I don’t think that I want to be a writer anymore. It was Baek Joon-Woo’s dream. But my dream was to support him”

Eli ignores the envy in his heart. Baek Joon-Woo is her past. She still loves that boy. He understands that she might never love him more than him. But he doesn’t want to be greedy anymore. His Nell is trying for him. Their future is more important than her past.

“I guess I will start by making amends.” Nell takes Eli’s hands. “After the seal is broken, I want to visit his parents. They deserve to know”

“Are you blaming yourself?” Eli blinks his eyes. Why didn’t he notice? She’s been blaming herself for their deaths. “It was never your fault.”

She says to him with an empty voice, “You also know everything, right? The man that I saw before our car accident I recognized him, but I can’t recall his name. I am sure that he’s a part of my sealed memories. Evie mentioned a boy I couldn’t remember. And the thing that happened around nine years ago It’s connected to me.”

The car accident happened when they were returning from the Council after receiving her ID card. The fae’s puppet attacked him on the road. It was also the first time when she dreamt of the past. That day, the wounds also appeared on her body.

“I promised you that I won’t leave you.” She continues with a faint voice, “But I can’t abandon my past anymore. The rapists were never caught. I was the only survivor and I also forgot their faces. Now, I know that there’s a seal and I also have magic. In one of my dreams, I found out that Baek Joon-Woo also knew about my magic. Can you still dare to say that it’s not my fault?”
