When A Ghoul Falls In Love

Volume 1 Chapter 79 Bad Little Marshmallow

Drace pulls Belinda away from the door before the shadow could emerge. The towering shadow stands before them. Everyone including Julianne feels the wrath oozing from the shadow. Their Fourth Brother is angry.

“I guess we succeeded,” Julianne mutters, unimpressed by the shadow. Fourth Brother won’t harm her.

“Oh, they are coming out.” Drace bares his canines and then, he licks his lips when he ingests the lucrative human scent.

The door is opened by Eli. He looks at his younger siblings. They aren’t looking at him. Instead of noticing him and his resentment, his siblings are slanting their bodies to their right in order to take a peek at his woman who is hiding behind him.

Nell’s palms are on his back, gripping his shirt. Although she hasn’t said it yet, he infers that she’s nervous.

If his siblings bully his wife, he’s going to hang them upside down from the Lyadh Tower.

“Where is that Human?” Drace’s eyes search for Nell. Her smell makes his stomach grumble. It’s been so long since he had good human meat. Maybe his brother is planning to eat the Human after the marriage. Many dark creatures have lured humans in the name of love and married them. After they brought them here, the human females became their meals within a few months.

One can’t turn his back to his true nature.

“Homo sapiens!!!” Belinda rages. “Where is she? I am going mad! She should have told me that she’s human. I spent so many hours in the library with Twelfth Sister.”

“…” Eli is speechless. She could have just asked him the meaning of Homo Sapiens. He’s a doctor who treats humans. Obviously, his knowledge about humans is way better than anyone else in this deranged family.

Well, he might not have revealed it to her back then.

“Spending time with me was that bad, huh?” Julianne gives a dark look to Belinda. “Sorry, I didn’t know that you disliked it that much.”

“Girls, don’t fight.” Drace smiles at Julianne. “We are here to see our Human.”

“She’s not yours,” Eli growls.

Hiding behind Eli, Nell listens to their chatter. Her heart is drumming against her chest. Her forehead is glistening with a layer of sweat. Meeting the in-laws is already difficult. Why is her situation so complicated? Eli’s father needs a lecture on family planning.

Nell sniffs Eli’s back. His scent is becoming addicting. She can stay like this forever, but she knows that she can’t. Maybe she should make Eli’s life a little easier.

Drace, Belinda, and Julianne see a head peeking out from behind Eli’s back. As loose strands of her hair fall away from her face, the woman blinks her hazel eyes. Eli’s human raises her paw and waves.

The Homo Sapiens’ voice is small like a cute little animal. “Nice to meet you.”

Belinda widens her eyes. “Sister-in-law, you are an enchantress. Can I touch your hair?”

“She makes my heart beat faster.” Drace clutches his heart with a dazed look on his face. “Should I eat her or hug her?”

“No.” Eli eyes Drace darkly. “You must keep ten metres distance from her.”

“It’s only three metres right now.” Drace gestures toward Nell, intrigued by her curious eyes. “Little Human, are you impressed by my looks?”

“You don’t even have one percent of Eli’s beauty,” Little Human replies. “I guess that he received the best genes.”

Drace opens his mouth wide. That’s harsh. He’s also good looking. “I am ranked sixth in the most playful men of this country.”

“Eli must be the top one then,” She mutters. Fingers entangled with Eli’s, Nell steps sideways, revealing herself to them. She stares at Belinda. There’s a ghost of Balthier Sanguine in Belinda’s face, but the teen girl doesn’t have Eli’s golden eyes. Neither do Eli’s other siblings.

Everyone in the corridor has heard her mutter. Eli blushes hard while gazing at her like a puppy looking at its master. Julianne and Drace gawk at Eli. Their Fourth Brother’s cold image is completely shattered in their minds. They can’t help but shudder. What is their brother planning? They haven’t forgotten the time Eli cross-dressed and indirectly seduced most men in the country.

“Fourth Brother did top the chart,” Belinda, who is not a stranger to Eli’s warm side, blurts out. “But he topped the chart of being the most seductive woman in this country. Even our cousin was smitten with him. Did I mention the prince?”

“No, don’t mention him.” Eli wrinkles his nose. Among twelve siblings, he only dotes on Belinda. She’s the only one who keeps an open mind toward humans. He’s sure that Belinda won’t treat Nell badly and Nell has a way to win everyone’s heart. He doesn’t know how his beloved wife does it. Whenever he sees her, he just wants to hug her tightly and kiss her until she’s breathless.

“What about a prince?” Nell asks Belinda with a straight face.

“He proposed Fourth Brother,” Belinda replies, not noticing Eli’s signals. She has completely forgotten about her anger. “I think that he would be affected greatly. What would we do if he finds out?”

“Did you forget Carmine?” Julianne laments. “She’s a little psychopath.”

“She declared herself as Fourth Brother’s future wife. Then, Father gave her support. After all, she’s the favourite daughter of the prime minister. Basically, everyone in the country thinks that she’s Fourth Brother’s wife.” Drace muses, “Though I like bold women, she’s certainly too much for me.”

“She chose Fourth Brother — not you.” Belinda makes a face at Drace. ”

The room turns chilly suddenly. The corner of Nell’s lips curls downward. She cracks her fingers. One. Two. Three. Four. The slow cracking sound pulls the Sanguine siblings’ attention. A silence follows when Nell starts fisting and un-fisting her hands.

“So, I was right.” She raises her left brow slightly. “I am your Mistress.”

Eli gulps, sensing her dark anger. “Wife I can explain. It’s not like that at all.”

“She’s scary,” Belinda whispers to Julianne.

“Very,” Drace agrees. “Is it normal for us to be scared of her?”

“Even Fourth Brother is afraid,” Belinda observes.

“I am not scared.” Julianne crosses her arms and raises her chin. “She’s only a human!”

Nell ignores the whispers and turns to Eli. She doesn’t waver when he looks at her with wet and fearful eyes. “Bad Little Marshmallow.”

First of all, she should straighten her man out. She will deal with that prince and the psychopath later.
