Chapter 36 Aftermath

Nero was sitting on the ground lamenting what had happened. He was feeling empty inside, he didn't know what to do next at all. As he sat there he called to Alfa in his head.

Nero {alfa do you want to know something}

Alfa {...}

Nero {someone said to me once "Getting attached to things you can't hold on to will only bring you sadness and disappoint meant boy" these words were said to me by the first person I ever felt a familial connection with. He was my martial art master, three days he left me without saying a word, a weak later I found out that he died in a deathmatch. Well, I guess he was right, unreasonable attachment leads to nothing but disappointment. Here I stand the same place I was in that day, lonely, angry, disappointed, and most all sad.}

Alfa {I wouldn't be that bleak about it, sir, loses is a thing of life, you shouldn't let it define your future actions sir"

Nero {I appreciate the encouragement, but not now alfa, I would prefer to let that subject go for now. What I want to know is, do I have enough energy to activate the world Gate}

Alfa {no sir, you have used too much aura with you last attack, it will take lots of time before you regulate your aura back to normal again, the estimate recovery time will be, 4 to 6 months to safely attempt dimensional hoping, or your could you use your heavenly right hand to restore your self sir}

Nero {ha that bad ha, well in any case I can't stand being here any second longer}

Alfa {sir I don't want to overstep my boundaries but will you be alright, after this}

Nero {…. Sigh I don't know}

Alfa {…. For better or worse I am still with you sir}

Nero {ha, tanks,}

Alfa {plus the longer you are down like this, the worse it gets for our journey of adventure and I don't want to work for a grumpy master, that would be just boring}

Nero {trying to lift my mode by making me angry alfa?}

Alfa {is it working sir?}

Nero {maybe}

Nero got stood off the ground and looked the big hole he mine in the middle of the city with an apathetic look. The hole was at least a hundred meters wide, it was so deep you couldn't even see it bottom, it looked like an abyss leading straight to an infinite darkens.

It was recorded that day that the incident claimed the lived of six elders leaving the city with only two functioning ones. Most of the other people who were injured were due to the initial blast of Nero's aura before his transformation. luckily enough none else died in that in that incident, but given then the injured were in the hundreds.

Nero decided to stay tow more days just so he could wait in hope of Genkai return, but his hope didn't pan out for him, even after waiting for her tow extra more days there, In the end, she didn't come, he sighed and left the city with nor specific direction in mind.

The city was in complete turmoil after the death of the seven elders because of Nero's actions. The gap in the leadership of the console was evident, as soon as Nero left the city fights brock out trough out the city. To begin with, the city was held by a tines line of order that rose from common respect and fear people heald for the elder's powers. and once that power was weekend all hell brock loses.

When that line broke the ugly side and nature of the people come out spewing. The territories once held by the dead elders were up for grabs and taking. Anyone who had little ambition tried to take a piece of the pie for themselves.

What followed was weeks of intense war between the civilians, a lot of people died but in the end, the last living two elders managed to quell the disarray, but by that time, the damage was apparent. Many lives were lost and many grudges were held.

But none held a grudge like the first elder held for Nero. He was there that day but luck would have it for he was slow at arriving there. This was the only reason why he was not amongst the dead now.

Meteor City, console room,

the two remaining elders and some executives of the city were having a private meeting, their subject of talk was Nero and how to deal with him. They know that they can't handle him on their own, and most of them were inclined on letting things go for two reasons.

One: as much as the attack was conducted by one of their own so going on a senseless crusade for revenge would only increase the body count.

Two: they just did not know what to do against a monster like him. The image of the monster he turned in to stile gave some of them shivers down their spines, dealing with him was out of the question. Some even considered it to be his mercy for not destroying the city {Mie}.

But still, this did not stop the first elder from voicing out his complaints

Elder 1 "this is unadaptable we can't just let his walk like that!!" he screamed

Elder 2 "and could you have stopped him then? He was sitting in front of the monastery for four days if you wanted to act you should have done so then, right now what is more important is to recover from the loss we had and, leave him be and he will never bother us that is my conclusion"

Elder 1 "and you are complacent with him causing this much damage to our city and leaving without paying for it, since when did you become a cowered who wimps in fear," he said mockingly

The second elder was visibly annoyed by what the first elder said but he claimed himself down and said

Elder 2 "then enlighten me how would you deal with him, he is no human, he is a beast in human form. We all saw what he is capable of, we are lucky he did not destroy the whole city, so tell me what do you have in mind"

Elder 1 "even beast have their weaknesses plus I have an asset, an investment I made long ago but did not knew how will turn out."

Elder 2 "ow, and what do you have in mind," he said intrigued.

Elder 1 "I would assume you know of my NEN ability, {flesh gore worm} right"

Elder 2 "yes the let manipulation ability if I remember correctly. Wait you don't mean …." the second elder was in shock when he guessed where the first elder was going with this

The first elder smiled from ear to ear showing of a creepy smile as he said

Elder 1 "who better to take down a monster than its own grown-up cub!!!"

Hi, guys this I hope you like this chapter and like what I have in mind for the upcoming chapters.

I am relay having fun writing this chapters where I am not restricted by the plotline, I can introduce new characters, and pretty much explore my mind for ideas and see what works with the setting and whatnot
