A Villainess's Struggles

After the performance, I became known as the girl who acted as the "funny witch." Do I like this nickname? It'd be funny if I do.

There also have been rumours running around about how there's going to be a student transferring into my grade. Apparently, the student is from abroad.

But what's even more strange is that my mother said that our distant relative was moving here. Coincidence? Nope. I'm about 2000% sure that this transfer student is this "distant relative" of mine.

I didn't expect the transfer student to be here so suddenly. The young boy that stood in front of my class introduced himself.

"Hello, my name is Michael, I recently moved here from France. Nice to meet you all"

The boy, well, Michael seemed rather...

Ordinary...?

My class didn't seem to have much of a reaction. I mean, there's nothing special about his looks nor is his family background amazing. His introduction was just normal. What else were they supposed to react to?

I don't know if it was just my imagination but before Michael went to sit down, he took a glance towards my direction. It gave me the chills and I felt as if I had to stay away from this person.

"Natalie!" Anna yelled.

"E-Eh, yes?!" I replied.

"You weren't listening right...?" Anna pouted.

"Ah... Sorry, I was t-thinking about something... What did you say again?" I asked.

I accidentally spaced out when I was thinking over the plot of "A Commoner's Struggles." I'm still trying to figure out why the female lead met both the male lead and her adoptive grandparents so early. I strongly believe that the changes I made to the storyline weren't that big.

"Well, Olivia and I were asking about the new student that just transferred into your class today" Anna smiled.

"Ohh, Michael right?" I said.

"Is that his name?" Olivia asked.

"That's right. I actually don't know much about him because I haven't talked to him yet. He did say that he was from France during his introduction though" I answered.

"Wow~ France! By any chance... Is he good-looking?" Anna grinned.

"Very good-looking may not be the words to describe him. He's rather, normal... There isn't much to comment on it. Rather, why are you asking about his appearance? One should never judge a book by its cover! Plus, don't you still have your crush on Blake?" I asked.

"Natalie's a bit talkative today..." Olivia said in surprise.

"You're right... Sorry, that was my fault, Natalie... Besides..." Anna paused.

"I am well aware that my chances with Blake are low... So, I should look for someone that's more reasonable" Anna sighed.

Olivia and I looked at each other and we both looked as if we were thinking the same thing.

'So she did know?!'

"But, there is one thing I'd like to comment on in terms of love and relationsh.i.p.s" I smiled with my most lady-like smile.

The three of us all looked in the same direction, which was to the right of us.

Sigh, this stupid couple! Why is everything going so smoothly for May?!

"Do you know why they suddenly started sitting together for lunch?" Olivia asked.

"Um, I believe it was May who asked him. Kyle just agreed to it for some reason" I answered.

"For some reason, huh..." Olivia said.

Speaking of Kyle and May, they're also another reason why the plot might be getting all messed up! Kyle's supposed to be the second male lead. Henry no longer has an opponent but that also means that the developments that could happen between the male lead and the female lead have disappeared!

"Nevermind about them... Christmas is coming up soon this year. What do you girls plan to do?" Anna asked.

Hmm... Christmas... Last year's Christmas was a wreck. I only have bad memories from that time!

"I don't think I'll be going anywhere for winter break this year. My father's probably busy again" I sighed.

"I don't really like travelling to places during winter time..." Olivia replied.

"Ehhh, so you two are also doing nothing?" Anna frowned.

The three of us stared at our food in silence.

"W-Wanna spend Christmas together with the three of us this year?" I suggested.

"Ah! That sounds like a great idea~! We can go shopping and stuff! Then, we can have a sleepover at Natalie's home!" Anna said with excitement.

"M-My home?" I stuttered.

"Just for a day, please?" Olivia pleaded.

"Please?" Anna joined in.

I-I'm weak to this stuff...

"O-Okay, fine! This year only, okay?" I sighed.

The two girls laughed and nodded.

As for why we didn't invite May, I'm pretty sure the answer is obvious.

When I arrived home, I noticed that there were maids running around in the house.

What's happening? Is a celebrity coming over???

I saw mother standing in the kitchen staring at a recipe book.

"Mother," I said as I walked towards her.

"Natalie, you're home? Come help your mother for a second!" She said as she gestured for me to walk faster.

"Listen. Tonight, our distant relatives are coming over for dinner! They're related to Angelina's family. Make sure you dress properly and act like a proper lady. And, I need your help with choosing dishes that a boy of your age may like..." Mother said.

"B-Boy of my age?" I questioned.

I... I'm speechless. I knew it, Michael is definitely my "distant relative"! He's from France which is where Angelina's family is right now! Everything is lining up!

I ended up spending the rest of my afternoon helping my mother out.

My mother walked around looking nervous. This isn't even the first time we're having guests over. Is Michael's family influential or something????

"Mother... You should calm down" I said.

"Yes, I know, Natalie. But this dinner is very important" mother responded.

"Why?" I asked.

"That's because-"
