Chapter 12 - Unexpected Surprise

Alexander lit up the flashlight while Helen was holding on one of his hand. As the flashlight illuminates the way, it revealed the real face behind the darkness.

A quite big room with exotic style as the decoration. Alexander frowned as he felt a familiarity and weird feeling inside himself. After thinking for a while, he finally remembered where was he saw this room style, Kamar Taj.

Alexander brain quickly processed all the information at high speed. Was his parent a sorcerer under Kamar Taj guidance? Why was the door password is the date when they died? Were there any conspiracies behind all of this? But quickly he stopped his thinking as all of this didn't matter as long he was strong enough.

Then Alexander and Helen slowly entered the room. There was nothing else in the room beside a table in the center. They slowly approached the table and found there was a big wooden box above it.

The box was not locked, so Alexander quickly opens it. Inside of it, there were two weird rings, two stick, a book, and an envelope. He immediately used his cheat to confirmed what the item was.

[Sling Ring - Rare] [Eldrich Stick - Rare] [Introduction to Magic - Rare] [Envelope - Common]

As Alexander expected, it was a Kamar Taj sorcerer essential equipment. He could now sure that his parent was a sorcerer under Kamar Taj guidance. Helen curiously looked at the ring and picked it up.

"Weird, who created a ring that must be used by two fingers ?" Helen said as she wore the Sling Ring.

"Hahaha, maybe some kind of freak." Alexander answered as he was holding the book. He opened the book and found it was written in the Sanskrit language.

"Is this what they left for us? two weird rings, two ordinary stick, a book written in god know what language, and an envelope ?" Helen said as put back the ring into the box. Her disappointment couldn't be hidden as she expected something more than this.

"Well, let's open the envelope first, maybe it would explained all of this." Alexander then tore the envelope and took a letter from inside. Both of them immediately seriously read the letter.

'Dear Alexander, we wrote this to let you know that everything you know about this world must be subverted. The moment you read this letter, it means we already died. Don't be sad as it was our destiny. There was no way to avoid it, even if we tried.

The body inside the car was a fake one, as our real body already was hidden somewhere else. You would understand all of our circ.u.mstances someday if you already worthy enough. The stuff left behind in the box was our most valuable inheritance for both you and Helen.

Learn the Sanskrit language to understand the book, and you would know why we said it was valuable. If both you and Helen already mastered the content of the book, you could go to Nepal to seek the answer.

Be strong, Alex, strong enough so you could understand the answer. You are the Head of the Hartman family since this moment, don't let it fall. Your sister needed your protection and attention, don't let her be lonely. There was another hidden inheritance for you hidden in this bas.e.m.e.nt, and it was under the 5th carpet.

Even though we are gone, we would always live inside you. Love from mom.

Dear Helen, we sorry if we could not accompany you and watched you grow into a beautiful young lady. We didn't leave any inheritance for you besides what was inside the box.

You must be strong, Helen. Don't let yourself fall into sadness. Your brother Alex would protect you and don't be a bad girl. Even though you may not remember us anymore, but we would always live inside you. Love from mom.

Remember, only both of you could only go to Nepal when you understand the content inside the book. When you already understand it, someone would guide you there.

Love from Dad and Mom.'

Helen couldn't hold her tear anymore as she suddenly hugged Alexander. Even though Alexander didn't know both of them, but strangely, he couldn't keep his tears too. But his self-control kicked in, and he quickly wiped the tear.

Alexander patted Helen head as he understands her sadness. He was quickly thinking about the message that both of his parents conveyed through the letter.

It seems that both of them already know their death in advance by unknown mean. Well, maybe it has something to do with the Time Stone in the hand of Ancient One. But why would Ancient One tell their death time to them?

Not only that, both of them seems to wanted both he and Helen to learned the Magic. There were so many questions but so few answers, that was Alexander feeling now. But he didn't care as long he was strong enough, he would know it later.

Since both of them want him and Helen to learn the Magic, it means he must let Helen know it too.

"Helen, I seem to know what they are talking about. When I was 10, I often saw them doing something weird. They often suddenly disappeared and did many weird things, it was like a Magic." Alexander slowly said directly at Helen's ear.

Helen wiped her tear and looked at Alexander.

"Magic? The kind of wizard magic ?"

"Yes, the kind of wizard magic. Well, at least that was what I know." Alexander then took the Sling Ring and wore it.

"I often saw dad made a portal using this ring. Then he entered it and suddenly disappeared. Not just that, I often saw mom doing many weird things too. I thought it was just my illusion as a child, but now with this letter..."

Helen was silent for a while before she replied, "Do you mean that our parent was a wizard ?"

Alexander slowly nodded as Helen must know about the fact too. Then Alexander released the hug as he walked toward a carpet that mentioned in the letter. He uncovered the carpet and found it was a retractable wooden floor.

Alexander raised the floor, and it revealed a metal box. He took the box and found it was quite heavy. After he blew out the dust that covered it, he placed it on the table and opened it.

A thick stack of paper, various bank card, 5 Gold Bar, various precious stone jewelry, and many other valuable things. Alexander grinned as he knew this was the Hartman family wealth.

"Wow, is this what they left for you? I always wondered where was our money go..." Helen too felt happy for her brother to get the inheritance. Since their parent died, the family wealth vanished without a trace. The main source of income to sustain their life comes from the dividend of Hartman Industries.

"Let's go back to the upstairs, we would talk about this later," Alexander said as he closed the box. Then both of them go back while he carried the two boxes.

Just when they leave the room, Alexander seems to hear a sound of mirror cracking. But then he shrugged as maybe it was only his imagination.
