Another Life As Older Brother

Chapter 71 - Back to Orario

That night, I went to sleep earlier and wake up before the sun came out. Everyone also woke up earlier after hearing the story and somewhat angry, especially Aisha, Haruhime, and Revis.

Bache didn't really care that much but only silently following behind me like usual. Samira looked hyped up, while Lena is also ready for a fight.

Arriving at the guild early in the morning. We wait at the sofa for the guild head to came entering through the door. Every mercenary, merchant, even guild staff, all avoiding us by feeling the tensed atmosphere that oozing from my group.

Eventually, Rubato Ryan arrived and a wooden plank dropped in front of him with a strange letter to it. He quickly looked at the people that throw him the wood with an angry expression but quickly changed.

"Time to fulfill your promise." I said to him with a smirk on my face. "What the meaning of this?" He asked after knowing the wooden plank is from me.

"That's from Telskyura. My familiar brought it back with her. Now, sign the paper." I said while walking to him and giving him the paper. "I'm afraid I can't. We need to verify that this is indeed from Telskyura before stamping the paper." He said while his sweat could be seen beside his face.

"No need. Luckily, I got someone from Telskyura that could identify this wooden plank even read it." I said and looking toward Bache. Ryan followed my gaze and felt like entering a dead-end road.

I pat his shoulder and whisper to him slowly "I have played with your rule. Don't make me report some of your shady transactions that you been done in the last 6 days." I said while smiling at him since I have been watching him for quite few days now.

His body shivered and eventually, he said "This way, please." While showing the way to his office. Not long after that, I came out with an approved paper that the quest had been done and receiving the quest money. I didn't even bother counting the money and already put it inside Gate of Babylon.

"Let's go back." I said to the other. "Are we going to ride that thing again?" Ryuu asked me. "No. We run and lay low before the game began." I said and we started running toward Orario. To keep up the pace, I carry Haruhime and Aisha carrying Lena.

Along the way, we met merchants, people that move to Orario to became adventurers, asking for quest or help, and so on.

Eventually, we arrived at noon. All of us wearing a cloak and show the identification as an adventurer to the guard. We decided to stay at an inn while keeping a low profile, while I wait near the gate.

Ryuu and the other tried to get the information about the war games. The reason for us to stay low and not contacted anyone close to us while hiding our identity is made Apollo think his plan worked out before may be turned into an unknown direction.

I spotted the person that usually the partner that sent the report back to Orario. He looked confused and wary of his surroundings because of the disappearance of his friend.

He tried to blend with the crowd but he might felt a cold gaze on him which made him tried to enter an alley at a quick speed to shake me off. Lucky for me, he made it easier for me to give him a quick kill.

After the quick kill through his neck preventing him to scream, I stopped my step while leaving him since I smell blood coming from a different direction.

Quickly I went there to checked the situation but found an unconscious woman in an embrace of her friend while being approached by someone with a bloody sword in his hand.

"Hooo~ I never knew that Daedalus street is a good spot for killing people." I said while looking at them from the top of the roof.

"Who are you!!??" He quickly said while pointing his sword at me. The girl that holding her friend also looked at me. "Who I am is not important but the last thing I want the guild to know is a serial murder running around killing people. So, one is enough for today." I said while taking a seat at the roof.

"You better back off." I said in a cold tone while glaring at him. "Huh! You try to play hero saving a girl! Stop trying to be strong and fight me!!" He said taunting me while belittling me.

"Hah~ It's hard. I told you that I don't want the guild to investigate this case but since you asked for it." I said while reappearing in front of him catching him off guard and send him flying and hit the wall.

I healed the girls behind me "Which familia you two belong to?" I asked them after healing both of them which made the conscious one looked at me and try to peek under my cloak.

"Just answer the question. He's not dead and he will come aiming at you again. I will take care of him in the near future, just not today. So, you better tell me." I said again.

"We... We're from Demeter Familia..." She said after feeling protected. "Demeter? I see. Never talk anything that happened today to anyone. For now, go back to your familia and hide there. Ask your Goddess to contact Hestia-sama." I said while started walking from her.

"Wait!! At least, let me know your name. I.. I'm Persephone." She said while watching me leave. "You will know soon enough." I said to the blond girl with orange eyes which basically looked like Demeter but with the tomboyish manner and short hair before I went back to the inn.

Daedalus street could be considered the slum in Orario. People killed maybe once or twice a week or month. To avoid suspicion from the guild which doesn't want anything related to Daedalus Street. I need to keep the victim to a minimum.
