Batman Reborn

Chapter 1 - Reborn.

A young man could be seen walking along a mountain trail, a cold look on his face as he stared straight ahead up the path.

The people passing by him along the same trail took one look at him and avoided him as they felt cold tremors go down there spine, his cold look made them nervous, like looking at a wild animal ready to attack.

The young man just continued to ignore them as he was already used to people avoiding him because of his natural expression, and due to this he developed a bit of a cold personality to go along with his natural cold look.

A couple hours later of walking up the mountain the young man reached the peak and he sat down on the edge of the cliff that hanged over the valley.

He relaxed his sore muscles and enjoyed the views as some sort of peace finally settled over him.

The young man then spent a couple more minutes just enjoying the quite, but he then suddenly felt an impact against his back, forcing him over the edge and to his doom.

His thoughts at that very moment weren't things like help someone or who kicked me off the cliff but they were I finally get the chance to see if I can fly.

As the young man fell to his death he managed to flip himself so he was falling backwards and he was staring back up at the cliff.

He saw a teenager with a crazy grin on his face as he watched him fall and then hit the rocks, killing him almost instantly.

The young man's last thoughts were... 'Great I was killed by a serial killer in the making, probably thought I would be a n easy kill, I promise in my next life I'll be the one doing the pushing.' He thought to himself in anger as he glared his last moments at the kid who just killed him.

...

"Arr~!" A young, black haired boy screamed as he fell through the rotten wood of a cover for a cave entrance.

He hit the cave floor hard, banging his head against a rock at the same time, instantly killing him.

...

"Huh, where the hell am I?" A young man said as he sat up from a smooth white marble floor.

"Your in my realm and your already dead." A floating ball of blue fire said as it floated closer to the young man.

"Are you a spirit flame?" The young man said without thinking, his eyes wide staring at the flame.

"Something like that... now for the reason your in my realm and the reason you are dead." The flame replied.

The young man calmed himself and started listening to what the flame was about to say.

"Yeah some psycho kid kicked me off a cliff." The young man grunted in anger.

"That's right, you died when you weren't ment to and so I brought you to my realm, to offer you a second chance at life, and you will be helping me at the same time so it's a win-win." The flame explained.

The young man nodded to this and then asked, "How would I be helping you if I get reborn?"

"I look after a lot of different worlds, one such world was yours and another one is the world I will be reincarnating you into, this world has an important man that died before he could do what he was meant to and so you will take over his body and carry on from where he left off."

"Couldn't you just bring him back to life or something?" The young man questioned the blue ball of fire.

"No I can't, I'm not aloud to influence the worlds I govern too much, and the man's soul has already escaped my grasp, making its way onto the afterlife." The flame said as it's fire turned a little red in anger.

"And by me taking his place you won't be interfering with that world? Is that right?" The young man asked.

"Just about, now I will help you by giving you some powers of your choosing, nothing too outrageous though." The flame told the young man as it hovered up and down.

"Ok, hmm ... can you give me the quirk, Bloodcurdle?"

"From My Hero Academia? Yeah I can give you that power, what else?" The flame asked.

"The quirks, Hardening that Kirishima has and the blue fire quirk, Cremation, Dabi has." The young man said as he crossed his fingers hoping that he wouldn't be asking for too much.

"Ok, but you do know both those quirks require you to work really hard to get them to the level they were in the anime." The flame explained.

"That's fine ... can I ask for anything else?"

"I would be pushing my boundary's if I gave you anything else," The flame said to the young man who looked sad, "But I can give you a better healing factor, it won't be as good as the Wolverine's but you will be able to heal from any injuries overnight, besides the loss of limbs, that will take a lot longer, or you would have to get it reattached right after you lost it, only then would you have a chance of the limb healing, and all your healed injuries will give you scars, even the little ones, it's the one drawback it has, I have to make it fair after all." The flame explained.

"Thank you, that is just going above and beyond." The young man said as he bowed his head low to the floor, because he knew the significance of the gift that the blue fire had given him.

"Your welcome, now off you go." The flame replied.

"Wai-" The young man tried to say before the flame disappeared from his view.

Replacing it with a rocky cave wall.

"Urr, where am I? Who am I?" He said as he looked down at his hands, they were the hands of a child.

"Huh, what was that sound?" He then looked up from his hands and into the cave opening next to him, from where the sound came from.

Suddenly a stream of black bats came pouring out of the opening, some hitting him in the face which made him activate the Hardening quirk on reflex, saving him from some of the blows.

He then watched as the bats fly out of the opening above him, the one his falling body had made.

"Isn't this the scene where Bruce Wayne becomes scared of bats?" He asked himself surprised.

"Bruce! Can you hear me? Bruce!" Someone from above shouted out to him.

'That confirms it then. I'm Bruce Wayne from now on... but others will definitely be able to tell that I'm not him from the way I act, I don't have any of his memory's to fake it... ' Bruce thought to himself as he watched 'his' father abseiled down into the cave.

"Who are you? Why am I in a cave? Who am I?" Bruce asked his father, trying his best to sound and look confused.

"Huh, Bruce what are you talking about?" Thomas Wayne asked his son confused but he then saw the blood on the rocks behind him and connected the dots.

"Bruce, does you head hurt?" Thomas asked as he held his son by his shoulders.

"Yeah, why?" Bruce then put a hand to the back of his head and brought it back showing the fresh blood on his fingers, intentionally showing him the blood.

"Ok, don't touch it, we'll get you out of here and then get that cut looked at, okay." He said with a smile, trying to keep his son calm.

He then picked Bruce up and climbed back out of the cave, Bruce let sunlight wash over him for the first time since he arrived into this new world.

He knew then that he would have to savour the little moments of peace because his life was going to get a lot more hectic and moments of peace like just before he was killed would be rare.

...

"I'm afraid that your son has amnesia, now he won't stay like this, as long as you keep trying to jog his memory then there is a better chance that he will get them back, just don't loose hope." A doctor explained to Bruce's parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, as they sat inside an examination room of a hospital.

His father let go of a sigh as he put his hand on top of Bruce's shoulder, "Don't worry son, you'll get your memory back, eventually, but from now on if you don't understand something or you don't recognize someone just ask us and we'll tell you, ok?" His father said as he had a pitying look on his face.

Bruce's mother was sitting down next to his father but she was crying silently, with her hands over her mouth.

"Ok, so, who are you two?" Bruce asked them, hoping for a better answer then mom and dad, he wanted to find out which DC universe he was in, if there was any indication to which movie, animation, or even fanfic he was in.

But instead he just got more tears from his mother and another long sigh from his father.

...Years Later...

Bruce was currently stretching his legs out as he was about to go for a run, ever since he was reborn he had been working out to get his new body into better shape, so that when he goes off to the League of Shadows he will have a better go at the training, better then the original anyway.

His parents have seemed to have lost hope in returning his memories and so they slowly stopped talking to him or even greeting him when they would pass each other in the corridors of the mansion.

His cold looks when ever they talked just helped to move this alone.

Bruce was ok with this though because it meant that he wouldn't be attached to them when they are killed and so he won't waste his training time grieving over them.

Alfred was taking better care of him though, he always had a slight smile on his face for Bruce when he would be awoken in the morning and he at least didn't stop trying to return his memories, unlike his parents.

That gesture alone made Bruce feel that he would be able to keep going even though this was a strange world to him and that it seems like his parents had given up on him.

Bruce though about this as he ran through the woods behind the Wayne mansion.

He had ended up at a sheer cliff face, he then walked up to the cliff and hardened his whole body with his Hardening quirk.

He was only now training his quirks because his parent were still around, but they would be dead soon, Alfred had told him that his parents would be going to the theatre tonight and so he didn't have to keep holding back on his training.

He calmed his breathing down and then got into a kickboxing stance, he had take a couple classes of kickboxing when he was younger in his last life and so he had the main techniques down.

Jabs, huck's, side kick's, axe kick's, spinning back fist, blocking, etc.

He had his left foot forward and his right behind him so that he could pivot with it, twisting his entire body along with his punch so then they would have more power and twisting motion when his punches connected, twisting and cutting where the punches hits.

His arms were in front of him with his hands made into fist's, his back hunched slightly so that he could hide behind his defence if needed, he was only able to see because he could slightly peek over the top of his clenched fist's.

He then started punching the cliff face, with a left jab and then a right cross, using his right foot to pivot into the punch, increasing its power.

When he would punch he would also twist his fist as he punched which meant when he hit the cliff face or someone's face it would twist the point it hit causing cuts to appear or in the cliffs face situation, causing rocks to chip off.

After his first couple punches he looked down at his fist's and saw that the hardened skin had begun to crack and break, a little blood was also seeping through the skin, to the surface.

Like water raising up through a dried river bed.

"I can't stop here if I want to survive in this world... " Bruce said to himself as he got back into his fighting stance, he then started punching the cliff face again but with more vigor, each one of his punches had his full weight behind them and power.

The blood from his broken fist's splashing against his face as he brought his fist back for another punch.

He spent five minutes doing just jabs and crosses until he couldn't feel his hands anymore.

At that point he looked down at his fist's again, the skin on his fist's had been completely worn down to the bone, on his knuckles, the rest of his fist had become entirely made up of cracks and break's in his hardened skin.

Bruce huffed out a pained breath and then looked up at the cliff face, it was just as broken as his fist's were and it was also covered in his blood and sweat as well.

Bruce stood like this for a couple seconds more, his limp arms down by his sides.

'I can still move... '

Bruce then lifted his heavy arms above his head and started striking at the cliff with his elbows, going from elbows strikes from above and from below.

He again did this for as long as he could, which put him an even worse state then before.

His hands had stopped bleeding but they hadn't started healing yet and his elbows had also been worker down to the bone, the hardened skin around it was cracked as well, some cracks even spread to his upper arm and forearms.

"Hah hah." He huffed in exhaustion.

Bruce still didn't stop there, he then did the same with his knees and legs.

By the end of it all he was covered from head to toe in his own sweat, blood and rock dust from the cliff he had just destroyed.

Bruce's injuries slowly stopped bleeding and only then did he release his Hardening quirk.

When it did release all the injuries and cracks he got from breaking down his body became of even more pronounced.

...

"Hah, Alfred, hah, why do you look so down?" Bruce said as he limped into the kitchen with all his injuries in full view.

Alfred then looked up the voice he heard and saw that it was his master, "Master Bruce, you were gone for a whi-" Alfred stopped taking when he saw the state his master's body was in.

"What happened?! Why does your body look like it was thrown into a blender?!" Alfred shouted as he ran to Bruce's side, his hands just stopping above Bruce's shoulder, hands shaking as he looked at Bruce's injuries, he was to scared to touch him incase he made his wounds worse.

'He must be in unimaginable pain, how is he even still awake.' Alfred thought as he looked at his master's exposed bones.

"What happened?" He asked calming down from the initial shock.

"I did this to myself, I want to see how far I could go without stopping." Bruce said as he swayed, his eye starting to close from exhaustion.

"Without stopping? What were you doing?"

"I was hitting the cliff face in the woods behind the mansion." Bruce was able to say before he passed out.

Alfred was quick enough to catch Bruce before he hit the ground, 'Hitting the cliff face?'

Alfred then carried Bruce to the kitchen table and quickly bandaged up his injuries.

He was breathing slowly and steadily and so he left him there and ran to the cliff face he knew Bruce was talking about.

What he saw there shocked him to his core, the cliff face before was smooth and it just went straight up but now it was like someone had taken a sledgehammer to it.

There was lots of little pieces of chipped off rocks all over the ground and bigger pieces closer to the cliff.

It was like someone was trying to tunnel through the cliff, because there was now a one metre shelter in the cliff face and all of it was painted red with Bruce's blood.

"Master Bruce what were you trying to do here?" Alfred said as he stood looking at the cliff face with a bewildered expression on his face.
