Beyond The World Plan

Today we headed to the orc nest. Like we planned before, the group split in four and the mission is to kill each monster tribes ruler.

We advanced on the morning, such a beautiful day. Everything is seems like fine as long as we go. Thanks to early investigation we can use the safest way to got there.

Also three days ago, I and Lily accidentally made a contract with spirit. When I open my eyes, there is a board that give an explanation what I see. I look at Lily and that board infomed me like this.

She seems so strong. And for that speed that, that's quite high too. A normal adventurer is average on 500. And I don't too understand why the job is listed as (-).

Looking at this make me think it is a skill named [Appraisal], a skill that make you see another people status. Curious with that, I try it too on mine.

Seems like it's not an [Appraisal] but <Spirit's Eye>. Also, what the meaning of [Reincarnator]? Am I seriously reincarnate from the other world?

I also have [Contract with Goddess : Frida]. If I am not mistaken, Frida is God of Soul. She is the one who choose the hero and summoned him. That said that I have made a contract with her. I not remember I become her follower.

Also the title [Against the Gods] is bothering me so much. Have I done anything wrong to them? I cannot let someone see our status. It will be a trouble if someone find out. So I make a decision to use [Conceal] to hide it. I will try to make a stronger magic than [Conceal] to fake it later.

Leave that side, we finally reached the nest. It's still noon but we charge onto them. Surprised with our sudden attack, many orcs killed in instant.

I joined the battle and casting two magic at same time.

"[Flame Shot]! [Ice Strike]!" (Ray)

Alongside with that, I drawing my dagger and charge to the frontline. Not long after that, we capture the outpost.

We intiate to continue but another horde of orc is coming from each side. It surrounded us.

"Tsk, It's bad. We surrounded"

The number of them is too much to handle.

"SHOOT!!!"

After the command was given, Rain of arrows is coming. Our archer is moving separately, keep their distance from us and act as rearguard. One of our comrade made a barrier so the arrows not hit us. With the number reduced in instant, the orc not moving. It's our chance to strike back.

"<Trick Art> [Pressure Hit]!" (Ray)

Swing my dagger as hard as I can, they are pushed back because the impact of my move and kill some of them.

Not wasting any chance, the other also attacked them.

"O' Earth, lend me your power and hit them with your hardness [Stone Bullet]!"

Then, dozens of rock hit them harshly. Is that what they call incantation? It's a troublesome. Wasting time to spell it when making the magic, doesn't it weird. Honestly, you can make a magic without it. All you need is simply imagining that spell form while gathering your mana. But for people here, it is normal.

"<Floral Art> [Leaf Scatter Slash]!" (Lily)

Dealing the finishing blow, Lily swing around her sword and slice them in piece. No more orc seen, we continue our movement to a cave in the bottom of canyon.

Some of orcs attacking us but we win it easily. In front of the cave, hundreds of orc is charging. With their high number, it's impossible to win. However, the win factor is on our side. I gather my mana and make an area attack when fighting them directly. I swing my body around and release that magic.

"[Ice Prison]!" (Ray)

Orcs in radius 3 meters from me is frozen. Then I swing again my dagger straight forward.

"[Blizzard]!" (Ray)

A storm of Ice is breeze toward them. Their movement stop because their foot is frozen now. There is a small piece of ice strike them, little by little injured them and killed them in cold. I make an opening to rush inside the cave.

This is still far from over, many of them still alive. But the commander give a signal to forward. Leaving some people with high Rank to prevent the orc go inside. Together with the archer, they prevent them from chasing us.

Around ten peoples go inside the cave including me. This cave is quite big so it will be no problem on fighting here. However, we don't know what will it be if we go deeper. Because of that, only adventurer with small weapon who will inside.

We saw two way ahead. We must kill the king quickly so we decide to split up to group of five. I take the right path, along with the commander and Crush. The path we took is so dark.

"Hear my call and light the way [Light Torch]" (Crush)

Crush cast a spell to light our way. We can see around us for five meters away.

"Hou... I never thought you can use magic. Well, I impresed with you even tough it only a basic magic." (Ray)

"Rude as always. I really want to punch you now." (Crush)

"You can do it if you want." (Ray)

I became close with Crush since our first met. However, I never turn down my suspicion to him.

"Shut up you two! Enemy is coming, prepare for battle." (Leader)

We prepare our weapon. All on my group are using a short sword.

"What the hell is this!?"

The orcs coming from two ways, front and back. They surround us quickly.

"I never thought they are set a trap for us." (Leader)

"What should we do?"

"Doesn't it obvious? We crush'em all" (Crush)

Setting a trap like this clearly not the way they are fight. Orcs ussually attacks everything in front of him without thinking a bit. It's clearly that someone has taught them. Or maybe it was the culprit who make this.

I casted [Flame Ring] and fight them. We really in a disadvantage situation. Nothing much we can do with only five people. Also considering that, we cannot fight any longer with them. The only one we can do is resume to charge forward.

"We must open a path in front of us. We cannot do this all day!" (Ray)

"Leave it to me. [Heavy Blow]!" (Crush)

With one swing, he bounces the orcs and make a way through them. We take that chance to run.

"Burn the way [Flame Wall]!" (Ray)

Lowing their suspicion, I made a little word to make it like a chant. Taking the lesson from Takeru's story, better like this than become a target of country.

Path in front of orcs is burnt with my spell. We continue to run, seeking some place to rest. My group member already exhausted because of the ambush before.

"Hang on, I can see something from here." (Leader)

There is a big room on the right side not far from our position. We take a rest here.

Everyone sitting out of breath. We take our supply to eat and drink. In time like this, I take a chance to check their Status.

His endurance is high, even higher than me. Also with that much HP, make it hard to kill him instantly. I think I will have a trouble if I fight him.

When everyone has get their stamina back, we once again set out and go deeper inside the cave. I can already <Sense> a mana with the power more than another orcs. I believe we already close to the king. But, I <Sense> someone's mana other than orcs. Is it the culprit?

The more deeper we go, more traps are active. Not long from the place we rest, a pitfall trap nearly caught us. Fortunately, Gard able to detect it and give a warn at the right time. He also set off the traps in front of us.

Something feels off. Like I said before, orcs more likely reckless and attack without thinking their surrounding. They are rarely using trap like this. Someone really trying to make us stay here as long as possible.

I already <Sense> the king's mana but I decide to not tell them. Using magic without chanting is already a problem. Even though I said that I always use the same spell so I can remember it but still not enough to reduce the suspicion.

More traps are neutralize. The suspicion that someone controlling the ruler is raising. I wonder why they didn't realize it before?

We can see a big room ahead. Gard giving a signal to get ready for attack. In that room, there are many orcs and evolved orcs. And there is a throne and the one sat there is the king.

"Look who's standing there the. Doesn't it a human?" (Michael)

"He must be the culprit." (Crush)

However, someone standing beside the king. A human who held a stick in his hand. Everyone thought he is the culprit but doesn't it feels off? If he is really the culprits, why he is show himself clearly.

"Wait, they are coming here! How can they know our position?" (Lysia)

"Just ask this airhead!" (Ray)

"No time to talk, everyone charge the orcs!" (Gard)

Good thing Crush, you forgot to dispel your magic. So many of them and only five of us. It really a hopeless situation.

"Too many of them, we cannot hold any longer!" (Michael)

"Hang on! OOOOOOAAAAAAHHHH!" (Crush)

He shout and draw their attention. This is skill called [Provoke], a skill that make himself as a walking tank and as a main target of attack. At least you're useful.

Suddenly, a giant fireball shot to us. We not have chance to evade it. The man is the one who casted that. Damn, he want make this a long fight.

He already chanting a second spell, but before he can finish it the group we split with us come and attack him. He failed to cast his magic.

"We will take care this man, you guys take care the orcs!"

"We still shorthanded to do it, two people is enough to handle that person. The rest of it, help us with the orcs!" (Gard)

As expected of the leader, he can make a wise decision with just a single look. Since the man is a magician, he is weak again a person with melee attack. He can't get enough focus to deal the magic. But, if only one person who handle him then when our man make a distance to him, he will use it and turn up the table. With two people, if one make a distance another one will come to cover it.

We take much damage becaus the fireball before but there is no time to rest. Everyone do their best to kill the orcs. Seems like Crush already in his limit. Damn, it cannot be help.

"EVERYONE MOVE FROM THERE!!" (Ray)

Everyone pay their attention to me. Looking at me casting a magic that look alike a High-Rank magic, everyone go as far as they can from the orcs.

"Burn enemy into dust! [Hell Flame]!" (Ray)

And with a little fake chanting, I cast the spell and the room is dye in blue fire.

"What is this spell? I never seen this blue flame before."

Crap, I forgot that in this world they not have what we call 'Fire Triangle' theory. There are 'Heat', 'Fuel', and 'Oxygen'. Three of them will make chain reaction and become a fire. When fire heat is under 1000°C, the fire will colored red. And the blue colored fire heat is around 1400°C - <2000°C.

"Well...yeah, someone taught me this. It's kinda complicated to explain it clearly." (Ray)

And I know they will not understand even I explain it.

Many of them is dead burnt by the fire. Only some high orcs left survive it but the fire have injured them badly.

"Ray, I am honestly not sure about we can accomplished this quest. More over is letting you participate. However looking your performance before, I understand why the guildmaster made you in this quest." (Gard)

He acknowledge my power, he close his eyes and open them with high determination. Seems like he know that we can win it.

"Crush, Don, Frey, Ray, you guys take down the king. We will handle the left" (Gard)

We nod and get ready to position. The king already stand up looking his underling was burnt down by me.

"All right! It's all or nothing." (Crush)
