Beelz and me currently facing each other right after Maria's dead. She told me something about Cecil's personality that changed because of my skill.

"How can you be so sure that she changes because of me?"

"No, I'm not sure either but this is the answer for your question." (Beelzebub)

That reminds me before we get involved with Maria. I think it's weird for her to change so far with only just three days. In her past, she will not do something reckless like fighting monster that she never fought before. She will likely make traps and planning to lure them to the traps. But now, she facing head on a Frenzy Bear without any second thought. That's true that she use 'flashbang' to blind it, but after that she really fighting that monster only with bow and arrow that has a very huge disadvantage facing that monster. She seems like enjoy it too.

"So, can you tell me how that skill change her?"

"Practically [Soul Link] make your soul go to a space deep in her thought where both of your soul can meet each other. However, the situation in that space depends on what the target memory, personality and d.e.s.i.r.e. Like Cecil before, she wanted to have a safe place where she can run from the reality she faces. As you see when the first time you get in there, that places is a mess. War, blood and many things you see before was manifestasion of her memory. There is many things there is broken because she herself also broken. That's why the space where you both met was like that." (Beelzebub)

I drown in my thought for a moment after hearing her explanation. It's probably true because if you think about it again, this will make clear why is the place like a nightmare. But, with just one person that I use this skill to, we can't make a clear conclusion. Well, let's assumpt this theory was true then what happened after that was the event that change her.

"Then, when I met her and make her feel 'alive' again..."

"That's where her change begin." (Beelzebub)

That clearly change her place into something else when I leave that space but there is something that stuck in my mind.

"Why she can't feel that she herself is change?"

"Because what you change is not her heart or mind, but her soul." (Beelzebub)

"Pardon?"

"Soul is the core of living being. There is no living creatures without a soul. But the souls itself different each other. It affected by memory and d.e.s.i.r.e. That's why every souls has unique character that different from the other. When someone being controlled, they can tell by themself that something's wrong because it doesn't match their soul. When it come to brainwashing, they also felt that they are different from their soul but forced to think that their different self is the correct one and slowly their soul become broken. After that, they are just a tool without any emotion. But it's different thing when it comes to your case. Because what your change is not their heart nor their mind, what you change is their soul." (Beelzebub)

Hearing that, my mind work fast to catch up what it really means. I grind the gear in my head and finally know the answer.

"Soul is the core of living being. Every behavior and personality is programmed there. That means when you change their soul, what you change is the code. If you change the main code then you will get different results from the original one. But, since what you change is the main code then you will not have any problem with the program. That's what you mean, right?"

Hearing my answer, she confused because didn't catch what I mean. I sigh look at her reaction and I am being forced to correcting my word.

"I mean, when you change the soul, the brain and heart will not feel any oddity and will work properly according to the new soul."

Finally understand, she let a long 'oh' while thinking what I said before this one.

"Well, you can give a simple explanation but why you come with the hard one?" (Beelzebub)

"I do not know. It was the first one to come in my mind. Don't blame me if our thought has different process."

She sigh and let me go without any complaint.

"Then, are you regret for killing her?" (Beelzebub)

"No, not a single bit. In the first place I have no interest in her. Even if I have any interest, it only my interest to battle her because of her strength. Just let it happens, we can't change anything."

"Are you sure? I can resurrect her for you since her soul still not fade." (Beelzebub)

"Even if I know about this earlier, it will not have any change with my decision."

I walk away leaving the scene of her and heading to where Cecil go.

"Then you have no problem right if I absorb her, right?" (Beelzebub)

"Yeah do as you like. Wait, arbsorb?"

I hurriedly turn my body and look at the scene Beelz collecting something from Maria's body. Many shining particle come out from Maria's body and move inside Beelz body.

"What are you doing?"

"Didn't I say I will absorb her? Right know I am absorbing her soul because you say you didn't care about her. Are you regretting your own word?" (Beelzebub)

"No, I just curious when you say 'absorb her'. Never mind, Just do what you do."

Knowing the answer now, I really walk away from here and heading to Cecil whereabout. I hope she did not have any problem without me.

When I arrive to where she fight, the battle already end. She win against the Frenzy Bear and currently laid aside from the monster. Her body covered with blood and full of wound. I rush to her and check her condition. She still breathing and I can feel her pulse even though it's weak. I take out high potion and open it for her. I give her the potion but she can't drink it alone.

I put the potion in my mouth and make her drink the potion mouth-to-mouth. Her wound slowly disappear and she gradually regain her conciousness. When she open her eyes, she shocked finding herself being kissed by me. She didn't show any intention to push me back. Rather than that, her face dyed in red and she enjoy it. Good grief, how can I explain to Lily about this.

After she drank all the potion, I pull myself back and observe the surrounding. Many arrows scattered on the ground. There are also some bottles of potion that I gave to her. Smell of smoke and cold of ice can be feeled here. She do anything she could to kill this monster. I don't understand why she could go this far. Is this the result of my influence to her soul?

"Master, I finished the task." (Cecilya)

She give an innoncent smile to me and move her head forward that make me feel guilty to her. I thought her behavior before because her mental state currently unstable. I never thought that thing will be this worse. I pat her head gently while hiding my guilty face.

"Yeah, I see that. However, don't risk your own life just because of my order, okay? You must cherish your life more than my order."

"My life already yours, master. I don't mind if I have to die if you want to." (Cecilya)

"NO! Your life is so important, so don't say something like that easily. Your life is your own to decide, not me."

"Then I decide to give this life for you, master." (Cecilya)

Hearing that leaving me a shock. This is more worse than I thought. Is this the outcome if you change with someone soul? No, it's not just a change. I have altered her into something else. I can't believe that I make something this dangerous. Soul is not a thing that you can play with. Just try to change it a bit, the result will give a huge different. I can't imagine if Beelz didn't tell me about this. I will use this skill as my trump card and the entire world become a mess. Let alone this 'Cecil' become the first and the last person I mess with it. I can't use this anymore so lightly without thinking.

I calm myself after releasing my rage inside my mind and look at 'Cecil' who have eyes like a little pet. I stop patting her hair and stand up. I only can let out a bitter smile to while giving my hand to her. She happily reach my hand and stand up with a bright smile.

"Well..., we clear all the quest, that's great. However, I only can promote you to C-Rank remembering that you nearly death when fighting this bear. Is that alright?"

"If that what master want then I will gladly accept it." (Cecilya)

"We have no problem then. Now..."

I turn my back to her while half crouching myself so she can easily hop on my back.

"What is it master?" (Cecilya)

"Can't you tell with just a look? Hop on my back."

"But..." (Cecilya)

She seems hesitate herself from riding my back so I give her more push to do it.

"This is an order."

"Y-yes!" (Cecilya)

After she on my back, I rush to the town with [Airdash] remembering the sun is on the halfway to set. But, with only dash is not enough, I need more push to make sure coming before the sun set.

"Beelz, can you give me a help?"

"You want to go faster right? Just make sure you are high enough so the tree not obstruct us." (Beelzebub)

Listening to her, I jump high enough and with Beelz's power, a pair of dark wing appear on my back. At first, it's hard to control it and I nearly hit the tree below me. However, Beelz guide me so I manage to control it faster than I thought.

Thank's to her help, we can see the town gate not long after flying. I decide to landing not too close from town because it will only give me a trouble. Far enough to not be seen by other people is enough and we continue with walking.

We send our report to the guild and telling them about Cecil's rank up. No one believe that until we show our guild card and the record on the card showing that only Cecil who finished all the quest I took. They do not have any choices except give her a rank up as I recommend. It also make a new record for someone rank up to C-Rank in just two days.

We search for an inn and sleep in there for one day. The rest of the day we only spend by resting. Yeah that's what I plan but something unexpected happen.

In the late of night, I feel that the protection spell that I leave in Vi's necklace suddenly active. If you ask me when I give that to her, let's leave it as another story. The protection spell that I leave to her is basically a dark type magic that will automatically active if something that will harm or leaving a negative effect for the user. It's including a magic that come from the gods power.

I hurriedly wake up from my bed and waking up Cecil who sleep beside me.

"What's wrong, master. Why are you waking me up?" (Cecilya)

"We got a problem. Bring everything we have and prepare yourself. After everything has been settled down, we will leave this town."

Even though she is still do not know what happen but she do as I say. After we ready we leaving the inn early. We say sorry to the inn owner that we must leave right now and give them an extra ammount to seal their lips.

Today, the weather is clear and the moon is in full form. Under the moonlight, I and Cecil standing on the roof with a bow in both of our hand. There is many soldiers chasing two persons from the castle. Lily and Vi running from the soldiers that under the hero command. We shoot the soldiers using our bow and hit several of them. I see the hero among the soldiers and our eyes meet. I order Cecil to escort Lily and Vi to the outside of the town and she nod listening to my order. I shoot an arrow with Pesforia and he manages to defend it. I jumped down from the roof and greet the hero.

"Yo, it's been a while, right? Seems like you have do something to one of my girls, huh. Well, whatever it is I will give you the lesson for trying to lay your dirty hand to her."

"YOU.... I am supposed to be the one who told it. You have laid your hand on her and change her heart! I will never forgive you!!" (Asahi)

"Well, that's funny because you are supposed to say it to yourself though. Yeah whatever, just come with all you got, okay."

He clench his theeth and put an angry face on his expression. With a grin I grab my bow tightly and aiming for his head. He also took out his sword and prepare himself for fighting.
