Beyond The World Plan

I woke from bed and felt something on my right hand. I look to the right and see someone that clinging on me so much since three years ago. Lily, a wolfkin girl with brown hair and tail also have red eyes is staring at me with smile.

"Morning." (Lily)

"Could you let my hand go?" (Ray)

What's wrong with this girl. At first I can tolerate her doing this because of that accident. I just mean to heal hear trauma but seems like she ended up to like me so much.

Well, I must say I grateful for this. Love can make someone do everything even the impossible for their partner. I guess it's true, but in the end it is scary.

I must say that I don't hate this. Because in bottom of my heart I love her too. But I keep it for myself for now. It is just not the right time to say this.

"Jeez Ray, do you not remember what happened last night?" (Lily)

"Don't say any weird thing. All we do is sleep together in this bed because no more room available. Just let me go now, please?" (Ray)

Finally, she let my hand free. But what with that expression!? She looks like a little dog who lost something precious to her. Cut that out, you are wolf not a dog.

I want to say that but I not telling her in the end and heading to dining room. The breakfast already prepared on the table.

"Thanks. Now get ready, we head to the guild after this"

"Morning Ira. Morning Cole." (Ray)

"Morning." (Ira)

"So, how the last night?" (Cole)

"*sigh* Don't think anything weird. We just sleep together, that's all." (Ray)

"How can you not take this opportunity to..."*Smack* "Aw!" (Cole)

Before he finish his word, Ira already punch him on his head and leaving a big lump.

"Don't teach them any weird thing. They are still a child!" (Ira)

"Doesn't it will better if they know that earli..."*Smack*"Aaww!" (Cole)

The second load has came. It more hard than the first one. A bigger lump appeared cause of that.

*Don't say anything or I will kill you for sure. Just eat your breakfast already and get out here." (Ira)

"Y-Yes..."(Cole)

Not long after that Lily come out from the room. We finish our breakfast and head to the guild.

As we arrive at the guild, this place crowded already. Yeah, that is nothing weird about that. Everyone give their report due to yesterday event. They come here to take the reward.

Sana, the receiptionist of this guild notice our arrival. Even though she is busy with the report, she wave her hand to draw our attention.

"Ray, Lily, the guildmaster want to see you. Please head to the second floor. His room at the corner of this building." (Sana)

The guildmaster search for us? I look at Lily and she too look at me. It must be because yesterday accident. We now head to the room.

In this room, he is already wait for us on the chair. His face is so serious, giving a big pressure around us. There are many doc.u.ments on the table. And seeing our arrival, he let us seat on the couch.

"So, you two are Ray and Lily." (Guildmaster)

We nodding our head.

"Yeah. "(Ray)

"I see. Can I see your guild card?" (Guild master)

"Sure." (Ray)

We give our card from the bag. He saw it with full attention.

"Yesterday, you two were given a special quest to helped the princess's group, right?" (Guildmaster)

He is still looking our card.

"Yes, is there anything wrong?" (Ray)

What with this pressure? It sure give a huge tension in this room.

"No, According to the princess's story, there are two child was sent to help them. She said they are from this guild. One of them is a white hair boy and the other is wolfkin girl. We don't have any member with those description before. So, we checked again on our database. Seems like both of you just joined yesterday." (Guildmaster)

"Yeah that's true." (Ray)

"Are you two really beat this much high monster yesterday? Especially you Ray. How can you be this strong?" (Guildmaster)

Crap, I forgot about the card. It recorded every monster that we killed. And because I combine my magic and princess's magic with <Fusion Art> seems like it also count that I killed it. There is no more turn back. All I can do is saying what happen.

"We live in the forest, so everyday we hunted monsters for our food. Because of that we already mastered the weapon we use. And about the number, there is nothing wrong with Lily. She is really skilled using her sword. And for me, maybe the number is that much because I use my magic at the same time as the princess's attack. So it also counted as I kill them." (Ray)

He glared at me since I start to explain. He seems like to see if I am lying to him.

"I see so that's what happen." (Guildmaster)

"Eh? You believe it?" (Ray)

I surprise that he is believe with everything I said.

"Yeah. There is no lied with what you said before, I can confirmed it. I have a special eyes that known as [Eye of Thruth]. It can see through lie from what you saying. Seems like you are the strongest [Magic Warrior] in this world." (Guildmaster)

"Thank you, I will take that as a compliment." (Ray)

I feel relieved that I said that. He has an eyes with that much power and it will be a trouble if I try to deceive him before. Yeah even I said something like that, it was all true behind what I said. Although it wasn't detail.

"Knowing that both of you really talented, I have a special request. Of course there will be a high reward for that." (Guildmaster)

"What is it?" (Lily)

"I want both of you to subjugate the Orc King." (Guildmaster)

"An orc king?" (Ray)

If I remember correctly, Orc king is rated as B-Rank monster. It's higher than flare wolf that place on C-Rank. Even so only different one rate, the gap for each rate is so high, depending on the threat that they cause.

"Yeah. Princess said that they are attacked by dozens of evolved orc. So I assume that the orc is the reason for this attack. If they lost their king, their movement will stop and leave the area." (Guildmaster)

I nod my head. I understand what he is saying. However, the thing is not simple like that.

"It's true that orcs who has attacked the princess, but please don't forget what happen on the gate." (Ray)

I draw his attention. He seems curious with what I said. See that he still not get it, I continue my word

"The gate was attacked by goblins and orcs also there is fang wolves and lizardmen that commonly we saw around here. If this is because the orc king, then doesn't it weird that goblin involved here too. After all orc and goblin are natural enemy, they are won't corporate each other with just lame reason like yesterday." (Ray)

He finally notice it. As natural enemy, all they will do is killing each other. They can't be friend because the rule of this world.

"That means, someone was planning it!" (Guildmaster)

He raise his voice.

"Seems like Sana not telling you this. Someone indeed tried to kill the princess. Blaming her dead because this incident and take the advantage for raising their title. You probably know who can do this all." (Ray)

"Nobles" (Guildmaster)

I nod.

"That's right. With the dead of princess, that means the position of thrones is not belong to anyone since she is the only king's child have." (Ray)

"It sure complicated. I thought this is just a normal monster attack. But to think this is more complicated than I thought..." (Guildmaster)

His face become pale realizing what happen.

"There is only two ways to create this incident. First, they just simply provocated each tribes of monster to the town and secretly hiding them, waiting till they have a massive amount and release them. And the second, they have manipulated each tribes ruler using <Contract>. This is the most reasonable and the fastest way to make this happen. The monster can't go against their ruler, even the command is cooperate with their enemy." (Ray)

I gave him full explanation how this happen. He more understand if I explain everything. If I can make him quick to realize it then we can move faster before anything turn into a very bad state.

"All right, I understand. It means we must go as fast as we can. However, without knowing where is all monsters king live it will take a long time to kill them all." (Guildmaster)

"There is no need to worry. The orcs live on the canyon. We can ambush their camp there. The goblin live in the cave with a stone that have spiral sign in front of it as a sign of their territory. The wolves lives in group deep in forest with many rocks. And the lizardmen lives at the swamp, they need a humid place to live too." (Ray)

He surprise that I know where exactly we can found them. He still can not believe with I said.

"How do you know that for sure?" (Guildmaster)

"Someone give his knowledge to me. Thanks to him I mostly know how the monster habit. If you live in forest, not only stength but also knowing your enemy is the best way to raise the probability of survived." (Ray)

Once again he glared at me seriously. I am sure that he is using [Eye of Truth] to see what I said is true. Takeru gave me right to have the book that contain his knowledge when he is here so there is no lie. Even it is not detail, as long as it true then you have no problem dealing with it.

"If we killed the contracted monster, we can trace the culprit's mana and lead us to him. However, without any strong evidence, it will be pointless. And for that we leave this matter to you. We also had no intention to deal with the nobles." (Ray)

He nod knowing it is the best we can give.

"I see. Even though you still a child, you quite sharp, boy. We will make a move for this. We will make a quest to kill each tribes king and we will make an investigation with the guard to search the culprit." (Guildmaster)

"If you have to survive, you also need your mind to understand everything even with limited information. And for notes, don't call me boy. I have a name and it is Ray, Mr. Guildmaster." (Ray)

"You too, don't call me Mr. Guildmaster, just call me Zack." (Zack)

"Is it okay?" (Ray)

"You two has show your capabilities with your strength and help to knowing the true meaning of this incident. So you don't have to act formal to me." (Zack)

"Thanks." (Ray)

We silent for a moment until zack say something.

"Now, about your reward. What do you want?" (Zack)

Finally, the promises reward will be given. Now, let's see how much we can get.

"We just want to rank up. Also the promised money for each monster we killed." (Ray)

"Just that?" (Zack)

I nod him. Well, it is necessary to have high rank. Adventured with high rank is more free to pass another country.

"I see. However we only can place you guys in E-Rank. Even you guys is surely strong, but more than that it will become a nuisance. If you want to rank up more than that, then you must join the test." (Zack)

I understand what he mean. Of course we disappoint can't get the rank we want. But to think someone who just become an adventurer yesterday on Veteran (D-Rank) is kinda weird.

"That's not a problem. We have no plan to rush achieving Expert after all. Also I have a request." (Ray)

"What is that?" (Zack)

"Allow us to participate in any subjugation quest that one rank higher from our current rank."(Ray)

He close his eyes and place his chin on his hand. In fact, there is forbidden to take a quest higher from your rank. Even on the same rank, we have high risk to get killed.

I understand if he refuse it. He just don't want to have any victim from having a quest.

"All right I will allow that." (Zack)

We shocked from his answer.

"Really?" (Lily)

"Yeah, you guys sure are strong. But I will give the permission after completing the quest I give for you." (Zack)

"Fair enough. We will give our best on that." (Ray)

"That's good. Please lend me your card, I will update your rank." (Zack)

"Thanks Zack!" (Ray)

"You have our gratitude." (Lily)

"No need to be formal, ok? We are the one who have the gratitude to you. Here." (Zack)

We received the updated guild card.

"Then, please excuse us." (Ray)

"Sure." (Zack)

We come out from Zack's room and go to Sana. She surprised with our rank. She said that this is the fastest record someone who got rank up to E-Rank. It become a nuisance in here.

I thought everyone will make it a problem but surprisingly they are happy too with our achievement. They said that we are the game changer yesterday.

We are invited to eat together at the tavern this night. All the cost will be paid by them. Seems like everyone want us to come, so we have no other choice.

Today we not taking any quest. Maybe, more suit to say there are no quest due to yesterday incident. So today we take a stroll around the town.

"This town sure big , isn't it?" (Lily)

"If you compare it with my village, sure it is." (Ray)

Currently we are at the plaza and now is near noon. We take a rest and buy some food that sell around here.

"This sure a nice day." (Lily)

She look up to sky then look at me.

"Yeah. But it remind me something like 'the calm before the storm'." (Ray)

She tilts her head in confuse.

"What does that mean?" (Lily)

"Well, I don't know." (Ray)

I said that while eating my food.

"Is that just come up to your head again? You sure a weird guy if that's true." (Lily)

Yeah, it just came out from my head. Many things that I do is something that is no one who do that. Simply do a thing and do not know what I do until the result come up. I don't know what's wrong with me.

"I don't know either. Since the incident from my village, it happens more often. Sometimes, I can thinking two opposite thing at the same time. It feels like I have two soul on me. But when I tried to check it, there is only me." (Ray)

I simply look down. Not knowing what happen to me is frustating my self.

"Don't thinking to much about it. For me, what happened to you is not concern me, because you are the one who save me. Then if anything happen to you, I will be the one who helping you." (Lily)

She hug me and pat my head. It sure more relaxing when you have someone to share your feeling. Even at first I only see her as a tool to help me complete my goal, but now she is the one who I love. I want to say it but this is not the time. I must endure it till that day come. At least let me like this more longer.

After a few minute, she let me go. I feel more relax from before. She smile to me that I come back to my usual self again.

"All right, we should search an inn to live or thing like yesterday will happen again." (Ray)

"I more like if we can sleep together like yesterday again. You know....I not mind it." (Lily)

"Yeah sure, but it's a problem to me." (Ray)

We leave the plaza and search an inn. For a moment, yesterday incident remind me to the incident 3 years ago. Is that related? I don't know either, after all seems like the objective is different. But it using monsters to cause the incident.

Lily saw me and look worried to me. Seeing her like that, I feels like I can not let her worries more longer. Maybe she is right, I just overthinking it.

I made up my mind and continue searching the inn with her.
