Chapter 12 - Batman

His only real friend was Horus, and despite all his attempts speaking about being merciful and forgiving and that it was an attitude of being a good leader, he had not been able to change Tobi's belief even one bit without him being aware of it.

The long permanence while living with Horus had proved to him how stressful it was being constantly forced to hide his skill and powers. Since he was born in a backwater village, where he was called a demon child and no one knew jack about Mana.

After a sudden long discussion that was brought up by Horus about Tobi's coronation and him being of age to attend an academy, Tobi decided that the best course of action, for now, as he needed time to think thoroughly about it, which Horus agreed to.

According to the Ancient Vampire annuals he had read in the last weeks, it was possible to become a member of the Vampire Counsel despite being home-schooled. It just required a longer and more difficult and complicated exams session to be accepted.

The biggest difference between a home-schooled and a Vampire academy or other race graduate amounted to more than just only a matter of fame and prestige, which was what Horus said to him.

Since by being admitted and successfully passing the tests devised by the Four circles of powers formed by both famous and talented Ancient Vampires, Holy humans, Lycanthrope and Witches, meaning Tobi was bound to have an easier time whatever the path of his choosing.

Instead, a home-schooled no matter the results he could achieve would always be seen like a rogue and uncultured professional with no references of any sort. He would then have to first prove himself worthy enough, by either performing voluntary military service or becoming an adventurer for a long period of time to be accepted.

Achieving merits was the only way for a rogue professional to have access to a prestigious office and high ranking. Though Tobi didn't care for any of that, since he just wanted to develop his powers while staying away from the spotlight until he was strong enough to break free from his shackles but Horus thought otherwise about everything.

Because at that point, he knew even if he decided to teach Tobi all he knew about Mana or a Hybrid Awakened it wouldn't amount to much because he had not start from the basics but from the most complicated truth.

And if achieving true results in the academy turned out to be impossible, it would be difficult to work his way around even as Dracula Pride or Hybrid Awakened, but he thought that would probably the worst-case scenario.

Thanks to all that talk about academies, Tobi was now allowed to spend most of his mornings in the previous Pride Dracula library.

It was a room twice as large as the previous library he woke up in, 500meters (1640.41 square feet) big, built like an underground secret chamber.

Both the west and north sides of the room had huge glass windows, arranged so that the sun would manage to perfectly light it until dusk, even still there were fire lanterns placed on the sides and corners of the walls when it eventually reaches dusk would light up.

The bookshelves were placed from wall to wall, parallel to each other, and spaced so as to avoid a ridiculous domino effect in case one fell over, creating about twelve corridors. In the center of the room, there was a pair of luxurious desks and a couple of armchairs.

The books covered all the topics, not just Mana, it was the sum of all the knowledge the Previous Pride had accumulated through thousands of years. Every time Tobi went to the library, he would carry over a small ċhėst full of delicacies.

Since Horus would never let him go in empty-handed.

The first book Tobi picked up, was the Divine Moon Academy rulebook. Together with extra information, like it being an encompass of both Ancient Vampires, Holy humans, Lycanthrope, and Witches.

The academy would last for about four years, and each year the student would need to prove a rising level of mastery of various elements concerning their race and Mana. The first year required learning at least the basics abilities uses of one's bloodline, the second one a familiar, and so on.

While Tobi was immersed in reading, Horus had walked inside with a smile as he took note of everything Tobi did.

"Start by reading 'The basics of Mana' it's a book that would show you an academy field studies."

"Young master please read it carefully, if there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me.

"You can use my study. When you have finished with the basics, you can skim through other books."

Tobi nodded at Horus, as he left. After sitting behind the desk, with a couple of thick books in front of him, he decided to go random in the process he could not avoid thinking back at all those years spent cramming on earth.

He was back being a student, a familiar and reassuring feeling.

Tobi shook his head as he pushed emotionalism aside, and opened a book, reading it from the author's foreword.

"My name is Twelve Wings known as the Batman. I am known as the prodigy son of the Sovereign of Ancient vampire, and also the only one of my generation to achieve the title of a Warlock..."

"What the heck is a Warlock? Isn't it just a synonym for a sorcerer?" Tobi paused for a second, taking the mental note to ask about the various race' categories.

"… I want to dedicate this book to all young bloodline holders, in hope that they can make good use of it and unleash their superior potential to become Warlocks.

"In a world scourge by wars waged by the celestials, the world had fallen, grown and adapted into various ways, the peace treaty had lasted years but now the tension arising with the celestials amassing strength that could injure the Moon Goddess. Which is why we must prepare for the rising storm."

"What?" Tobi blurted out in shock.
