Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 20 - part 2

The sounds of subtle breathing could be heard constantly, as the girl's eyelids tremble slightly before being opened, revealing a pair of white pupils.

Edward Kalamas stood there for some time, as he stared at the young girl silently with a worried expression afraid he might disturb whatever she was doing.

"Father." The girl softly but sweetly called out.

Edward Kalamas smiled when he heard, her voice, before he said, "Moon, I have been waiting for you."

"Father, I don't know why but I have...a premonition that makes me want to get closer to him..." Moon said, as she turned her head and stares at him with her white pupils.

"If this is a fate decree what it revealed might be a vague event of the future? But why of all time now?" Edward softly muttered with a puzzled expression.

"Since he gives you such a peculiar feeling, is his existence going to be a gift or curse, so I could keep an eye on him?"

"No! I have a feeling if we do... if we do..." Moon suddenly fidgeted seemingly like she had an unwanted epiphany that made a shiver ran through her spine as though remembering something of fright, as she stuttered.

"If we do, the chains of fate shall be broken, not only to me but the whole...."

Edward Kalamas appeared instantly beside her, holding onto a profusely sweating Moon that had lost her consciousness. His expression grew dark, 'It's likely the thing has Awakened.

'Who then could it's be, him or Monarch?' As he silently thought to himself, his blazing eyes slightly dim a bit.

---

The sound of water dripping could be heard constantly falling into a large brilliant azure pool of water, each time it fell a ripple would spread outward giving the 30meters(133, ft") large room, a serene and fairy charm.

Floating just above the pool of water, was a shady black and white humanoid silhouette.

And that silhouette was Tobi, back when he was still living in the village when he had unlocked his first vampire ability, every time he had appeared within this dimension, his features was usually that of a black and white wisp, but after the Moon Goddess divine Blessings, the dimension seemed to have undergone an evolution changing the wisp form, together with the space within from it previous appearance into that of a humanoid form and a large room.

When he had used the realm for the first time, his mind was overwhelmed and if it wasn't for the unique connection he had with it, he would have thought he had been teleported far away.

After, exchanging a few words with the so-called bloodline ego, Tobi somehow had instinctively appeared in his own spirit realm thanks to the Monarch, even though he had plenty of questions he wanted to ask, however after the Monarch had spoken a few words it's seemed to had ignored or rather lost interest in speaking about itself further.

Even while through the journey back home, Horus didn't notice Tobi's strange behavior nor his absent-mindedness as he ȧssumed he was still angry/mourning and was probably still holding a grudge at him, before Horus left he kept a letter pertaining to why the other sins didn't attend the coronation.

....

Clearing all the thoughts rummaging through his mind, Tobi was trying to see where the alternate ego that called itself Monarch was. But all he could see were the azure walls, which were lit up by the azure water pool on the ground.

There was no telling what the bloodline Egos could do, and perhaps he needed to be careful to avoid an unforeseen accident as well. Still, even after waiting for a while, he couldn't hear anything nor an expected lookalike except the snail pace drainage of the azure water pool.

Tobi started to twist his head around in all directions as if he was looking for something but he didn't see it anywhere.

'Is it hiding, or maybe it left me alone because it didn't want to reveal itself?' Tobi thought out loud, followed by the rebound echo from the large empty room.

There was a good chance that the thing was probably hiding from Tobi, and Knowing fully well about its violent nature he didn't want to take any chances with it, after all in his spirit realm he didn't know how strong it could be.

Standing amid the azure water pool, Tobi looked up if he could possibly see anything out of the ordinary from high up from the ceiling, but there was not anything as well.

However, after he searched for some time, he noticed that the azure lake had sunk deeper from constantly using up too much mental energy.

When he was about to go, he decided to look down inside the azure pool spotting his own rippling reflection coming off it.

But then his face was replaced by a set of panic expressions that couldn't be described when looking at the azure pool of water, on his self-reflection he could see his features and appearance were different from how it was supposed to be

He quickly closed and opened his eyes, yet there was nothing except his usual appearance and the rippling water.

'I saw it, there is definitely something within the azure water.'

To make sure that, he was probably wasn't going crazy or imagining stuff, Tobi closed his eyes and counted from one to ten slowly, after he counted to the tenth number, Tobi heaves a mouthful of a deep breath before looking down again.

This time when he looked down, he saw the thing. There it was in the rippling pool of azure water, staring right back at his face with a creepy smile that could probably frighten anyone, it's had dark gold pair of eyes and a black foggy silhouette.

Tobi slightly reeled himself backward, still afraid the thing might pull some tricks on him. With a sudden thought in his head, he clenched his fist tightly and punched downward toward the creepy smiling face on the pool of water.

The moment his fist collided, with the thing on the water surface. Something strange occurred.

'Tsk, no..fun at all. Guess playtime is over.'
