Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 21 - part 3

Tobi slightly reeled himself backward, still afraid the thing might pull some tricks on him. With a sudden thought in his head, he clenched his fist tightly and punched downward toward the creepy smiling face on the pool of water.

The moment his fist collided, with the thing on the water surface. Something strange occurred.

'Tsk, no..fun at all. Guess playtime is over.'

The long-awaited voice of Monarch echoed and resounded in the large room.

Immediately Tobi heard those words, he saw the thing swiftly moved his left arm stopping his fist from moving further into its reflection.

'Tsk.. tsk....how long has it been a century or maybe a few millenniums? Since I last saw the spirit realm of the 'Little one', oh my pardon my manners I mean Pride Dracula.'

Looking out at the corner of his eye, Tobi could see the black foggy silhouette slowly rising up from within the azure surface as it made a usual slight gesture toward him.

Its eyes looked at Tobi intently for a moment, before letting it pair of dark gold eyes wander around the room with the intent of interest within them.

'Is this how you welcome your alternate partner? Or have you forgotten the vow we took that day? on the Altar? e.t.c Till death do us apart?'

Looking at the talking figure in front of him, Tobi was at loss for words. It would be an understatement to say that he wasn't shocked, he truly didn't understand what was happening at all.

There were far too many questions he needed to ask and their corresponding answers as well.

'Nevermind the stupid jokes.'It said in a chuckle.

Tobi did not look entertained as he remembered, how the bloodline Ego had been toying with him previously.

'What do you want from me?'Tobi said in a solemn voice, he didn't know why the Bloodline ego would suddenly be awakened without prior notice of any sort, since he knew how Horus had stressed out how dangerous being together with a Bloodline ego could be.

He was afraid it's had an ulterior motive since there was a chance the alternate ego could suddenly go violent and try to take control of his mind.

After all the alternate Egos were said to be incredibly strong, cunning, and violent. And the truth was that the previous Pride Dracula had never managed, to subdue it before instead the case was otherwise.

The Monarch didn't reply, as he stared at him for a while before speaking,' Maybe later, too tired to explain long boring words.'

'Hey, wait..' Tobi's phrase was cut short because, a moment later, the Monarch started to slowly ferment its foggy self on the azure water surface again, before it disappeared like a smoke wisp.

Looking at the water surface he noticed that, he could longer see its silhouette anymore as it seemed like it had vanished into thin air.

After regaining consciousness, Tobi felt confused with all the thoughts rummaging within his head, but with no answers.

He felt like there was nothing he could do for now, and he had no choice but to only go along with the silent flow.

With the Monarch awakening, it must surely be up to something but since it showed no hostility that was good for now, and as long as it doesn't try to take control of his mind he wouldn't bother it much except when necessary.

While he stood up, a thought suddenly popped up in his head as he took off his shirt.

And as expected there seemed to be some kind of hazy dark gold outlines of tattoos drawings on his upper half, giving off a certain vibe of liveliness. Tobi slowly but softly touched the strange tattoos drawn on his body.

As he looked at it, the image of how tattoos were drawn on earth appeared in his mind, then he also started to think of how it was usually painful to be removed from a person's body, if that was the case would it also cause him extreme pain if he wanted to remove it?

After staring at it for a while, seeing that there was no obvious downside or any noticeable side effects Tobi wore his shirt back.

Despite how short their chat might seem, and was happening in his spirit world. It was still quite long since he actually spent most of the time searching for the Monarch.

As he went through the previous confrontation he had with it, he couldn't help breaking out in cold sweat.

'What does he mean we took a vow on the altar or till death do us apart? Doesn't that sound more like a marriage of some sort?'

Tobi shrugged his head, his body still covered in a cold sweat.

'Dammit, it's hard to accept someone else living in your own body.

'I bet if I were to mistakenly get married in the future, he might actually have access to my most embarrassing moments with my future wife. Not to mention my reincarnation secret, especially since it a sentient being which is very cunning and violent to its core, its might even threaten me of exposing my secret!'

Some time passed, with Tobi currently in his 50 meters sized room.

The room had not changed too much in the slightest, even after he had holed himself up for the past few days. The lantern on the table, which was by the front right corner of his bed was still lit up.

With the fresh aroma of deliciously made food, both giving the room a trace of constant warmth and liveliness, as if the room was being constantly cleaned up and was only left for a moment.

"How long have I been holed up? and where is Horus?" Tobi thought out loud, as he walked toward the corner of the table and looked at the noble banquet lined up with different cuisine of jollof rice, barbecue stakes, and such, they seemed to be freshly made as they waxed the air.
