Chapter 23 - Horus feelings

Even though he was pleasantly surprised he didn't let it show on his face, only maintaining a soft smile that was displayed on his expression.

'Is this what being a father feels like when he sees his child success.' Horus thought.

He couldn't also avoid noticing, despite all the smiles and happiness he showed and felt, he was actually quite depressed knowing fully well he was losing a child, he had already thought of as his own.

'I guess this was why I was like that with the previous Pride Dracula, and if I am like this with him. I am afraid what I would become if something happens to him, I am afraid old me would suffer a heart failure.' Horus secretly thought to himself, heaving a sigh.

Now that Tobi had finally accepted, he thought he had reached the bȧrė minimum to know more about what the academy actually entails. He didn't want to make him feel like he was being forced.

Before he started to explain, Tobi sat beside him. As Horus began to numb down things after all his knowledge was something he had accumulated through millenniums most of the things he might say were something Tobi would definitely have no inkling about.

While Tobi listened to what Horus was saying, he discovered so many unexpected flaws in his previous actions. The first and the primary one was having to rot himself for another four years in the previous Pride Dracula library, where his talent was doomed to stagnate with the passage of time even a hybrid awakened.

Horus also confessed to him, rather than not wanting to purchase high-tier spellbooks or techniques, it was actually impossible for him to do, due to the previous Pride Dracula. The problem wasn't the matter of their price, though it was enormous it wasn't anything to him, but the previous Pride Dracula had strictly warned him not to obtain them even to the point of taking an oat he couldn't refuse.

And even if he wanted to he couldn't, but even still the previous Pride Dracula had already acquired all the basic books he could, which included those the Magic ȧssociations were willing to share with the general audience.

To get more Tobi would either attend the academy or ask vampire Ancestor Lucian, for help.

Again even if he were to be given higher tier spell books or techniques, it would be very frustrating for him just memorizing a question just so he could pass an examination, but without earning the least bit of it understanding, and how it was all brought about to its complexity.

If he were to decide to spend the next four years, first, it would be full of boredom with the usual routine of his, second, though his body might become tough, it wouldn't help much when he came to bottlenecks in his Mana core.

Thirdly, all the other deadly sins would continue their education, shaving off all the advantages he could get as their leader and Pride Dracula.

Though, however, he might still have an advantage over his age peers like the ordinary magicians of the four races, because while they started their studies at five and six, he had begun his when he was just a newborn.

But soon, all that including his hard work, and sacrifices would all turn to a monkey-banana-errand.

Another flaw was that he knew less or nothing about magically enchanted items, when he was busy casting his spell or calculating on minimising Mana consumption because of his techniques, his opponent wouldn't need time or worry about their Mana consumption since magically enchanted items could be used almost instantly!

That again made him realized he had previously underestimated their use/functions, and distribution. Though he hadn't seen much but from the teleportation circle, enchanted communication amulet, and enchanted word reader(AN: read the previous chapter about Manohar and Arthur letters).

But the little he had seen was a science of marvel to him and had given him an headaching feeling in his head that could not go away.

If it was possible to use magically enchanted items, almost instantly without bothering about Mana consumption, then with the use of Mana it would definitely be at a breathtaking pace to use then, while also gaining and getting a bigger advantage, this was one of his thoughts.

Now, instead, he was more like a novice with zero knowledge about them without Horus giving descriptions, nor how they worked even if he acquired one. It could even be possible to help his plan of reviving his family.

'Dammit, I am not just a frog inside the well, but I am also a frog in a well in the middle of nowhere. With all that Horus is saying, even if he exaggerated them a bit all my previous struggle could indeed be label as being ignorant.'

'Even if with the help of Horus I continue to expand my knowledge, my future prospect is bound to be much more difficult than I would imagine.'

'My biggest advantage now comes down to Horus again, and the only silver lining in all this is that with being Pride Dracula could have access to numerous magical enchanted items, and aside from the Magic Associations, high noble families, magically enchanted items are definitely not something common!'

'Before cursing myself, I need Horus to properly explain. I am starting to think that, I underestimated my circumstances and status a lot.' Tobi silently thought to himself.

"First of all, young master. Allow me to apologize. I never expected you to change your mind, so I never told you all these facts about the importance of attending the academy."

"Aside from that, the way the previous events played out wasn't something I would say was pleasant for you. And that was also my fault, so once again I apologize"

"Again, one of the reasons I didn't tell you all this, was because even though I know any academy would definitely want you as Pride Dracula to enroll their institution, if you were to enroll as a normal person do you think they would be willing enough to accept you without you using your extraordinary status?

"For a normal person, what do you think would happen? Even before being opportune to enroll, they are already giving their 100%, if not more.. Because they know what was at stake for them."
