Chapter 24 - Truth

"For a normal person, what do you think would happen? Even before being opportune to enroll, they are already giving their 100%, if not more. Because they know what was at stake for them."

Tobi knitted his eyebrows when he heard what Horus said, even without Horus saying this to him he already knew what the outcome would be.

"To be honest, I know you must have probably thought about the academy being useless and could easily become a member of the Magic Associations or Ancient Vampire Council.

"Though young master you are right, but that's it. I can also easily imagine what the Magic Associations or Ancient Vampire Council would put you through, day by day without an iota of personal freedom.

"So, if you were thinking, it just the number of books pardon me but it would have been naive of you."Horus shook his head.

"It so much more than just reading of books. You see, you are right being looked at tall and mighty, every day might be annoying. But the problem is that you are wrong about everything else in entirety."

"In your case, you wouldn't need to spend that much time on the academy, only half of four years."

"How exactly?" Though two years could be described as long, compared to the previously calculated amount of extra two years it was considered short.

"The first two years cover the basics of Magic & Mana, they teach things like the basic meditation technique and how a Mana should flow, the elements within magic spells and things like that.

"Unlike you who got things easy, young master. Most nobles had to strictly dedicate their time to things like typical etiquette, as much as they learned etiquette they are also being demanded to learn the history of their race, geography, covering various fundamental topics not just knowing how to read ancient script book, but also perfectly spell out words and write.

"Otherwise, as nobles, they would be an embarrassment to their prestigious families.

"Each race has something to learn and show forth, like for the Ancient vampires they are to learn how to control their blood urge, without suddenly going randomly at innocent civilians or the Holy humans or witches.

"Same goes for the Holy humans, but following a different concept in the court hood. They can't just attack any Ancient Vampire on a wimp, just because their eyes glow red or their strange attitude, apart from that each race learns swordsmanship, being knowledgeable about instruments, and being fluent in their culture.

"Same goes to the witches and Lycanthrope, who could also mistakenly cast spells at the expense of turning a civilian into a rat, or the Lycanthrope who could abruptly transform into a mindless beast without control.

"This all comes down to their race and everything their family needs to be proud of and brag about in social events.

Tobi nodded in understanding.

"That of course takes time. Time which cannot be dedicated toward other complex things like either magical arts or bloodline studies, hence studying the basic field of studies.

"Instead unlike them, which included the other deadly sins. You only need to attend the academy for the last two years only and reap up an endless benefit.

At the words benefits' Tobi was growing excited, his mind was starting to realize he had made the right choice.

"What are the benefits?"

"Young master, have you ever thought about why even the prestige families of nobles and wealthy aristocrat families, send their children to attend the academies? If it was just all about books, many students and families would rather avoid all the competition while also labeling it as useless, as they study at the comfort zone of their homes."

"What makes entering one of the five big academies so much alluring are the three benefits though a bit different for the various race, but for you especially it an endless fortune.

"The benefits are as follows: being granted access to all kinds of spell books and techniques, the possibilities to take one or more specialization courses, and one of the last important ones being able to get your personal summonable blood familiar and finally, a free access to various magical enchanted items!"

Tobi's mouth was wide opened, his head spinning round and round from excitement. Horus used his conceded silence to strike the iron while it was still hot.

"No matter what type of familiar you wish for, most especially for you young master. You would be able to summon me, in my dragon-lion form as your familiar, no matter what the tier of spell books or high rank techniques, there would be almost an endless amount of them out there.

"Those that the previous Pride Dracula had kept, and that you have are simply those that the Magic Associations deem so common that they felt they can be given to the general public.

"This was one of the reasons the previous Pride Dracula, didn't purchase anything so that his predecessor might see and know the value of the academy just like he did when he was still alive.

"All the best techniques and spells, especially from rank 4 upward, are strictly being controlled, and though you could get hold of them but getting a silver of how its complexity came to be would be incredibly hard.

"Only in a great academy would you have access to every topic and sub-topics, without there being restrictions, allowing you to be able to create a personal technique and spell even before you set your foot in the outside world.

"If you get admitted to your fourth year, apart from earning your personal blood familiar, everything of specific rank or tiers of techniques/spells and below will be automatically yours to claim."

"What about the familiar and specializations?"

"Hmmm, that is a bit complex to explain, but I could probably give you a simple example.

"A familiar is an Ancient vampire or Hybrid Awakened strongest companion after him/herself, though some might be stronger at a point but just think of it as a pet. They would do whatever their master's wish for, their life-forces and minds are linked with their master's own.

"And for specializations, as of now you could be considered to be a warlock.

"Should you choose to become a grandmaster warlock, not only would you be taught extraordinary techniques that allow you to automatically fly or cast thunderstorms. But most importantly you would be taught the secret of how to fully utilize your bloodline to the fullest, and easily create bloodline spells tailored especially to you and your future descendants.. The same applies to every other specialization."
