Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 46 - Ogres 2

However, humans were emotions fickled and could be knocked down by their fear of the unknown, especially when they aren't sure about how big the ogres tribes were. It was very much easier to trigger a collective panic, and that would result to even more damage than expected.

So it was very important to get intel about the ogres and be prepared in advance, to let the various mercenaries prepare themselves.

"Everyone please calm down and remains observant, the Dawn Light team will keep everything under control at the rear. While the rest of you shall manage things at the front in a close melee combat."

Urara-a loud enhanced voice ordered with vigor, as he held the rein of his horse before going to the rear of some mercenaries as well as giving some orders to the various mercenaries around him after his members form a defensive line beside him.

"Listen, everyone, I hope every one of us put our a*sees on this, just so you all know there are rewards for anyone who is able to behead an ogre, it doesn't matter if you are an individual mercenary or a formed group, as long as you can fight and win against this ba*stards, contributions points and monetary reward from the mercenary guild shall all be yours!"

Urara's voice was loud enough, to grab the attention of every mercenary as his deeply hoarse voice, spark a commotion around him as well loud cheers from the various groups. Urara sighed inside, he could already guess what was running through the minds of these mercenaries, with years spent on being one he had become aware of their weak and strong points.

Wasn't their sole aim of coming together for benefits? For benefits they would become shrewd and ruthless, enough to even abandon their teammates, and since he wanted 100% of their efforts what was the best way to do it?

Several medium-sized mercenary groups immediately got their morale high, which was accompanied by excitement and the loud cheers, as it began to rise, but soon all these was immediately interrupted retrieving every mercenary back to reality by the loud quivering roars of the ogres across who could bȧrėly wait any longer.

The ogre who stood at the very front opened its mouth agape, exaggerating its ferociousness as its mouth was wide opened like some beast as he let out a terrifying roar.

The dried unknown animal bone in its hand was gripped tightly, as it was held like a huge bone club, before swinging it on a carriage that immediately had a huge dent on its side.

The bone club pounded at a shield of Shield heroes, who stood at the very front, immediately after a muffled dull sound could be heard. With which several mercenaries immediately collapsed on the ground, as their limbs were fractured.

Due to the uniqueness of ogres, their general strength were around the same as the strength of a rank 2 elite warrior. This was something that the ordinary mercenaries could bȧrėly contend with.

As if responding to the leading ogre, the rest of the ogres behind all let out a tremendous roar, as each and every one of them raised their enormous clubs and even their bȧrė fists, as they charge fiercely towards the mercenaries.

Several medium-sized mercenary groups were taken down almost immediately on their first exchange, meanwhile, their leading fighters shouting and howling slowly grew fervent as they saw the rest of their teammate's pale expressions and fatal wounds they were slowly sustaining, the leader commands could bȧrėly maintain their battle formation.

'The data and attributes of the human continent bȧrėly follow the superposition principle of the Originals. The sum of two actions does not necessarily equal the effect of each of the actions performed alone…'

Tobi fought and thought to himself silently, as he made mental note of what he was watching in front of him, as he began to ponder other matters.

After experiencing so much in Originals and with Horus's explanation, he had also realized the difference between the human continents and the main world of the vampires.

'Although the ordinary Ancient Vampires have an average level in their extraordinary attributes in comparison to the hybrid Awakened, and might seem more difficult to advance further on. However, I don't know if it is true or not, since breaking through the bottleneck when I was a vampire for all my stats was very easy in the beginning compared to a Hybrid Awakened, most importantly after becoming a Hybrid Awakened I spent quite a lot of effort to do so in bottlenecks. After raising my core to the peak of rank 2, every time my Mana core goes through the circle of Mana Technique, it becomes several times more difficult to increase the Mana in the peak rank 2 core. After I reach rank 3, Horus said my increase in Mana will probably become even more obvious…'

Due to what Horus had said, and his instincts as a Hybrid Awakened, it was likely that after his mana core reach rank 3, every time his Core went through the circle of Mana Technique it would perhaps be equivalent to the sum effects of his previous advancements. His overall strength would increase and he would grow considerably. This sort of exponential increase was comparable to a magical beast.

There was a strong gale of wind that suddenly blew across the region of the mercenaries, which Tobi subconsciously noticed was a fragment of a shattered armor on the ground, with sparse of bloodstains all over it.. This instinctively shifted his attention in the direction toward the battlefield.
