Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 47 - Ogres 3

Due to what Horus had said, and his instincts as a Hybrid Awakened, it was likely that after his mana core reach rank 3, every time his Core went through the circle of Mana Technique it would perhaps be equivalent to the sum effects of his previous advancements. His overall strength would increase and he would grow considerably. This sort of exponential increase was comparable to a magical beast.

There was a strong gale of wind that suddenly blew across the region of the mercenaries, which Tobi subconsciously noticed was a fragment of a shattered armor on the ground, with sparse of bloodstains all over it. This instinctively shifted his attention in the direction toward the battlefield.

"Kill those damn hideous bastards!"

Was what a medium-sized mercenary group leader shouted fiercely, as he covered himself with an elemental Mana which made his body radiate with a tremendous force of elemental energy.

Since the ogres were rather few in number, and could bȧrėly be compared to even a tenth of a medium-sized mercenary group.

The moment the medium-ranked warriors went all out to stall the ogres, the morales of the mercenaries were immediately increased, as each of the low ranked mercenaries attack in a frenzy using the advantage of their superiority tactics in numbers.

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

Five to ten low-ranked mercenaries high pitched voices could be heard loudly, as they held their weapons in tight grasp as they formed a little group together using a simple formation, tightly trapping an ogre in their midst. Even as these simple tactics were being used against them, the ogres seemed to be unaware of anything amiss, since these simple group tactics could bȧrėly be deciphered by their dumb brains.

And along with the mercenary captain's command, different techniques were immediately used on the ogres, causing a large amount of damages.

The ogres could only growl in pain and fury, although it was superior in terms of strength, healing factor, and defense it still lacks agile and the ability to make complex thoughts, which caused it to receive more and more damages as time went on.

And soon afterward great quantities of dark green blood slowly flowed out from its injured body, though the ogre tried to put on a struggle by swinging its bony club.

The mercenaries would immediately shift from melee range attacks into long-range attacks, which gave no room for the ogre to attack anyone, and slowly its struggles began to be futile since no matter how much it tried to attack, the humans would use and change tactics continuously on its.

With these little group of the mercenary alliance formed, they slowly began to overwhelm the ogres with their numbers and managing to kill one with the rest sustaining a large number of injuries, with these tactics they were slowly gaining the upper hand to seriously hurt an ogre.

Even though the techniques used were random, the mercenaries were able to ȧssimilate their effects and the range of their effects when fighting, with this once one attack reaches an ogre the rest would immediately follow suit from all flawed corners and attack the weak points, this obviously spread the effects of the mercenaries techniques and as well reduces a high rate of Mana consumption, compared to a one-man battle.

As time went on the ogre's roars slowly grew lighter and muffled, and the green glints within its eyes also began to dim. And with one last attack used on its, the enormous body which was now a corpse finally thudded onto the ground, mixing the fresh blood that had now become humid to the soil, with flesh and rotting stench.

The leading ogre turned around after realizing something amiss, though its expression did not look pleased, since no matter how dumb of a brain it had, watching many of its kinds being surrounded, gang bang and killed, would be rather weird if it wasn't displeased.

And soon it began to roar in rage, even though it's felt helpless about the deaths of some of its kind, it could only put its rage and aggression on these bunch of evil mercenaries in front of its, and one of the mercenaries couldn't help cursing loudly as the ogres chief held his limb before shattering and then sent his figure flying with its club.

The sound of its roar seemed to have changed from its earlier frenzied state to something akin to a retreat signal. Since the bunch of ogres who heard the roar began to immediately fall back, even if they sustain some injuries in the process, they seemed to ignore it as they retreated in a hurry.

"Hey stop those mofos!"

"Don't even think of running away, hideous bastards!"

The high-pitched voices seething with the rage of the various mercenaries could be heard, as they tried to attack the retreating ogres but were rather ignored by them.

At this moment while the retreating ogre's movements were chaotic they seemed to have formed a coordinate, Tobi was also slowly retreating but suddenly he realized something from the exceptional figure of a black bull and its rider a Valkyrie, darting towards the ogres at the front, he also realized something else her direction seemed to be aiming at the ogres chief

This gave rise to little commotions as the other mercenaries were astonished when they saw the mount and its rider, a valkyrie, her figure flipped over in the air directly posing her bow and knocking three arrows imbue with an air elemental Mana which granted the three arrows an increase in speed and agile, meanwhile, the black bull beneath her seemed had also formed a battle stance with its large horns, aiming at the ogres chief buŧŧ.
