Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 51 - Ogres again

A plan against the cargoes? Weird even if they had the mental capacity, how did they come up with something a bit complex? Perhaps it was just a mere coincidence… Not likely since I have a weird type of feeling initiated from my hybrid instincts, from what Horus had said the world Originals and all its species have a furthering bloodline that might make the unintelligent race gain the ability to perform simple or complex thoughts like the two-headed ogres or three-headed ogres and the ogre's shamans who can manipulate elemental Mana to some certain degrees perhaps have this sort of intelligence…'

'If it is true, then it likely the lives of everyone will be in critical danger soon.' Tobi thought to himself silently.

As the journey went on, every event slowly proceeded according to Tob's instincts. There would be several ogres who would cause a siege on the road once in a while, firstly it started from one until it slowly increased in numbers to over five to a dozen at a time.

Every time they attack, they would be unable to cause much damages to the large groups, except every time they fail they would quickly run away, which most times the mercenaries would gain credits from the corpses of the ogres.

In the beginning, most of the mercenaries would be frightened by the large numbers of the ogres, but slowly grew used to it. While some would watch them flee and make gest of the ogres, as they witness these scenes with laughter that resounded in the wagons.

With the continuous circle of victories, everyone slowly reviews the ogres as a form of any threats. In Tobi's eyes besides the Dawn Light captain Urara and the sorcerer by his side everyone seemed too careless about the activities of the ogres, and it was likely every other member seemed to overestimate the threats in front of them.

"There are two more days till we out of this region," Tobi said as he stared at the ceiling of the moving wagon.

"Haha... you read my mind Flob, this is going to be the easiest mission I have ever done in my life."The Satyr commented on the side with a bit of excitement coated to his voice.

As the cargoes proceeded, anything else besides the ogres were bȧrėly any threat, to the mercenaries. They bȧrėly needed to move, to scare away any beast with an overwhelming number.

'I never want to see those disgusting vermin again…' The Valkyrie thought to herself silently with disgust, even till now she still held a deep resentment which was obvious. Ever since the time she had killed an ogre chief which resulted in being stained, she had bȧrėly participated in any activities pertaining to the ogres. It seemed like a nightmare she could bȧrėly forget.

Right at this moment, the whole carriage seemed had come to a stop as loud noises could be heard loudly. The Satyr R-B licked his hands before rubbing it on his two protruding horns and a bald head which had sparse of brown hair, even as he heard the sound he bȧrėly made any movement as he seemed rather unaffected by the sounds.

"Those damn mofos are here again? Ain't those balls brains giving us free money… I wonder who will be lucky enough to get the ears of the ogres. The rewards are pretty good…"

"I don't think, things would be easy this time," Tobi commented by the side, with a slight frown on his expression while he wore his half-ass baked knight armor.

"What do you mean?" The Satyr R-B asked with a slight confusion, however before he could further his question, his expression quickly changed. Continuous cries sounded from all directions, concealing an eerie atmosphere that was slowly rising.

"Damn it, so many of them!" The Satyr instinctively move back, as he subconsciously said his thought out loud. However, he had no time to think properly as the sounds kept on increasing, and instinctively his hand had moved towards his waist.

Ahead of the group now was pure chaos. Many cargoes had abandoned their goods and fled for their lives the way they had come, creating an even larger uproar. There were many casualties among the mercenaries, and at the front, a huge number of large figures could be seen in the distance.

"Damn it's a f*cking a trap! We've been gang banged!"

"Help! There are f*cking ogre hordes everywhere!"

"Damn it, where did they come from?"

"Where the hell are Dawn light? Where's Urara?" There was a mixed collection of panic voices, that could be heard almost everywhere, and everyone who stood beside Tobi broke out in cold sweats instantly paled.

Everyone were being drowned out within the chaotic stream of people, forced to move along with the crowd. Each and everyone appeared to be like a headless chicken as they all ran for their lives.

"Lady Black rose!"

The Valkyrie Anomander tried to keep a neuter expression, as she jumped onto the moving horse wagon taking over the rein of the horse as she held it tightly, trying her possible to maneuver its movement.

Meanwhile, the halfling thief had hidden himself within the dark corners of the wagon as he looked like he had a slight hesitation but couldn't decide on what to do to help but was incapable enough to, but suddenly he disappeared into the masses.
