Chapter 52 - Oracle

With the chaos and the commotions everywhere outside which was caused by the ogres' tribes, everyone could bȧrėly focus without overthinking about their absurd situation, even the human archer had run away from his group immediately after the chaos had begun.

Meanwhile, even though the Valkyrie Anomander was confused and could bȧrėly think properly, her main focus was trying to control the horse carriage, which made her had bȧrėly any time to care about the other mercenaries, which was also the reason the archer successfully escape.

Loud cries, shout, and muffled roars could be heard almost everywhere, the sound resonated over and over again like the trumpet signaling the arrival of a death god, and the loud muffled roars from both the front and back, brought fear with a cold shiver to the mercenaries.

The pale expressions and loud cries, seem to be the strongest catalysts, as the ogres seem more frenzy as they witness this. A few moments later, the entire large cargoes and its groups completely fell to the horde of ogres.

The crowd pitiful expressions were filled with struggles, as they tried to continuously push and squeezed their way through, to get far away as possible, while they ran some had strange glints in their eyes, as they drew their weapons making a path of retreat by killing their comrades, the sudden turn of the event brought fear, shock, and panic.

With such a huge commotion and extreme confusion, Tobi slowly disappeared along the line. Even if the world was to crumble in front of him, his number priority would still be going to the academy.

'Well well well. I guess my guess was indeed correct. The ogres in the grimoire are the same, but they seem to possess a high intelligence in comparison to what I have read. Though I don't know how much intelligence they possess, it is definitively within average."

Meanwhile, at the ogres' settlement there seem to be an ogre who was slightly smaller than the rest, Tobi had seen previously. An ogre was slowly pacing back and forth, with a slight mix of fear, anger, and worry. A few minutes ago he had been very happy, but now he didn't know what to do whether to be cursing, crying or happy.

A few minutes ago on the altar of their gods, the Oracle had suddenly warned him about the group of humans closing in, but the problem wasn't the humans if not he would have been very much joyful. The problem was among the group of humans, there was a magical creature that the Oracle couldn't make sense of.

After blessing the best of the ogres' warriors with the power of the Oracle, they had immediately gain intelligence and incremental improvements in their natural abilities.

At the moment, he was both worried and eagerly waiting for their returns.

Although human meat was delicious, but in comparison to the ones of magical beasts it was filthy apart from that it could also make the ogres evolve to a much higher existence known as a shaman ogre. If they fed this to their pregnant women, there was a high certainty of the birth of more than one ogre shaman.

Their Rakasha tribe had been suffering over the years and was on the verge of declination. Even if they couldn't secure their victory by attacking the magical creature, they could still gain victory by attacking the human group and exploit their weakness with the power of their Oracle.

When some of the warriors returned, it wasn't in the way the ogres chief leader expected. One after the other they each reported, the ongoing events. The most shocking news was they didn't see any magical creature, even when the human groups were being attacked.

However, the ogres' chief leader was confused if there was no magical creature why was the Oracle warning them? Even though some of their force had been weakened by attacking the humans he knew it had no relation to the magical creature.

*This doesn't make sense!*The chief leader wouldn't believe it, he would rather believe he had grown dumb and rusty over time.

*Are you sure there is a magical creature? So far we have slain the humans easily* An ogre chief said with a hint of doubt, maybe it was finally time to replace the chief leader.

*Am very sure* The chief leader replied in seriousness. *Maybe I should try again, just maybe the signs I translated weren't accurate*

The chief leader ogre, slowly walk into an obscure palace which was made and filled with bones and skeletons, at the middle of the palace was a grey statue with the features of an ogre, but much smaller with the height of a child, and white cloudy eyes.

The ogres' chief leader slowly, walk forward with caution as he knelt in front of the child statue, putting his hands on its shoulders as he allowed his mana to flow into the child ogre statue. No one actually know what it was except it was seen as the descendant of their ogres' totem fathers.

It was also the most sacred relic and existence, the ogres' tribe possess. With their rise and fall, the ogres slowly gain recognition and connection with the sacred totem. Their deep connection and reliance on it had allowed them to survive disasters that had destroyed even their ancestors.

Through looking into the Oracle white pupils, the chief leader seems to have entered an entranced state of mind, which made him amplify his senses. Even though there was only a minority of information his brain could process at once, what his brain processed as the will of the gods was actually his senses as an awakened shaman.

Over the centuries, the ogres had gone through numerous evolution that made them, slowly possess sentient as a race. Even though their race was supposed to be dumb, yet when an ogre birth a shaman, they would suddenly awaken sentient of intelligence, slowly they would exploit the use of their existence such as the Mana manipulation and the ability to communicate with the ogres.

With an ogre awakening, they could also awaken their perception which gives them access to gain recognition of their Oracle.
