Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 81 - New problem

"The....the gods… will not let you off!" The chief priest said as he tried putting his final struggles. His face was filled with the fanatic expression of someone who was going to die for a good cause.

The dark figure simply did not give a hoot about all of this. "Well! The transformation efficiency of the young ones' flesh is not bad. His body is also rather decent. Next, up… the devour, the most important part if it really a reincarnation of the totem godfather!"

However, when the broken sword came into contact with the chief priest's soul, the situation seemed to change drastically.

"You… You actually have the guts to try profaning my soul?" The excruciating pain from somewhere deep within his soul made the chief priest's come to bits and pieces of his senses. A mix of despair and resolution surfaced on his face, "Almighty gods! Your devotee sincerely offers his own life, and longs for your arrival! Divine craft— holy Descent!"

The powerful full counter-attack, made Grey take a few steps backward in succession. The summoning ceremony that had been interrupted resumed, now functioning very quickly.

After all, this had already gone past what they had planned, but not out of it, and again the chief priests had been working by calling the gods before, but now the gods only needed to take the initiative to descend.

"Once again… The experiment of his majesty is a failure." The dark figure gave a forced laugh and immediately sent a command to Grey's mind, telling him to go far away and leave the iron sword.

'My time is up and at last with no results. Except there is a profound improvement, moving onto the next level' The broken sword suddenly turned scarlet. Molten iron started to dissolve and finally formed the outline of a humongous bat.

With badly damaged demonic wings, gigantic compound eyes, and devilish claws.

"At least this time, the experiment would make his majesty smile. passing off some of his favorite red wines…"

The dark figure thought with a slight smile, who then took control over the body of bats and looked over at the Chief priest in front of him — just that he was now lifeless. Yet, his body floated eerily in midair.

A powerful conscient was being implanted in the Chief priest's body, filling him with some sort of divine might.

Soon after, The dark figure saw a pair of golden pupils.

"Now!"

The dark figure did not dare to meet the other party face-to-face, or his mission would have been counted as a failure and most importantly he wouldn't be able alive to tell the tales.

*Boom!* The scorching flames, with the power of the dark figure, completely wiped the tiny village from Oblivion.

Even the residents in the neighboring towns could see the orange sky smoking in the distance.

In the entire Olori Village, not a single soul survived except for the dead body of Grey.

This incident was determined to be caused by the birth of a demonic child. Through facilitation by the holy shrine, a new round of exercises took place across the entire central continent to root out heresies.

Of course, no one truly knew what had happened but the rumors and tales of demonic children spread like wide fires. Most people became afraid of giving birth to male children, even those that did abandon theirs, without confirming if it was a demon child or not.

Soon, every ten years a group of holy Knight and Chief priests would go from villages to villages, thus with the claim of purifying children, they would give each midwife, a spell to chant on male newborns.

If a Golden snake biting its own appeared, at the back of any male, then that signifies the birth of a demonic child, with their purifying method the children would be taken away either by free will or force, to the gods shrine far away which was ordered by the high ups.

And anyone found housing a demonic child would be looked at with contempt and malicious eyes and might be immediately burnt to death.

*Crash!* Tobi hit his hands on the wooden floor fuming in rage and deep in thought, while Bell had watery eyes as she sobbed quietly not wanting to worsen the quiet atmosphere, now that she knew what had happened to her elder brother she felt really sad.

She felt incomparably sad, as she couldn't stop sobbing uncontrollably, Christy and Christopher both had eyes brimming red, but held it in. They couldn't show weakness by crying in front of their children, who would give them arms to seek comfort if they all cried?

Though they couldn't change their previous situation, they could work hard to change the future, so they had no time to waste on crying rather it was to plan out their escape route from this village, and after their escape with their children, they would live a normal life hiding Tobi's identity. Until they found a way to remove such a curse from him.

And if they couldn't, they would just live their life like civilians, far far away.

....

Tobi couldn't think thoroughly as his thoughts rummage about, after listening to the story. Could it be that those people knew about the existence of twilight creations? And felt threaten to exterminate their existence.

But again everything felt wrong at the same time, were those children a vampire or werewolf like him? And if those people truly knew about their existence and why call them demonic children and take them away? And to only were God's know.

He felt his head spun high in his numerous helpless guesses, 'there is no point thinking about the past, now is the present I need to think ahead.' Tobi thought.

...

Bella was born with a congenital condition that prevented her from doing excessive physical exertion, and also made her prone to illness.

At that point, their parents would run to the town to let Nana alleviate the symptoms and return Bella to her neuter condition

While a check-up wasn't expensive, the treatment was. So it brought their pockets monthly budgets below average.

Her treatment was expensive, but they still worked hard enough to pay for her treatment.

It was the constant need for a physician, that put such a strain on them.

Tobi felt very sorry for his sister and motivated at the same time to work even hard. Despite her illness, she would still carry him, laugh, and play with him. Without her complaining of his weight weaning on her. That was more than enough to make her precious to him.

He truly felt helpless, cursing his own inability to discover something to cure her. All his abilities required him to discovering a solid grasp, he couldn't use something on her that he wasn't sure of, first because what if something happens to her? Second what if she freaks out after knowing he was a twilight creation?
