Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 84 - Sudden Encounter

"How did you get that?" Gloria asked, still recovering from her surprise.

"From my family's farm," Tobi said lying, with a sheepish poker face.

Gloria looked at him on the face, and then at the stalks of veggies he held in his hands.

"Oh! I get it now. You stole it from your farm. That explains a lot."

"Good gods, what a child." Gloria's voice was oozing sarcasm

Gloria went inside and returned with 20 coppers coins, before she could fully stretch the copper coins to him, Tobi had longed snatched the coins at a lightning pace instead.

Her words had fallen on deaf ears. Tobi's eyes could only see the coins on his hands, as soon as Gloria had stretched her hands, his hands had already moved forward.

After counting his coins to be exactly twenty together with the former coins, to be thirty copper coins. Tobi noticed Gloria was frozen in place.

He gently shook her hands.

"Nice doing business with you."

.....

After a few days, Tobi's household resounded with much more vibe and joy than usual. Him bringing money home had raised questioning, but with his big sisters vouchering for him, every possible explanation was available for every question.

The money had helped everyone to relieve a bit of their money stress and to forget about being hungry.

Everything went well, but most importantly Tobi could finally start practicing martial arts secretly. His routine was very simple, he would sell stalks of veggies, practice his breathing technique and martial arts at night.

Thanks to the Mana accumulator breathing technique, Tobi was now able to stay up for about a week before being forced to rest.

He would sneak out of the house after using his senses to confirm that everyone was asleep.

Once outside, he would use trees in the woods as training golems, using it with his rough martial techniques to temper his body. His first priority was footwork.

Whenever someone threw something his ears could pick up the slight vibration of its slight motion, but the problem was what would he do with such a short space of time?

Tobi knew that even though his reaction was very quick, it was not as instantly as a speedster on earth movies. He could not afford to think too much, especially when his opponent was on the move that would make him a sitting duck especially fighting melee.

His status as a Vampire made him powerful, but not omnipotent. What good was it to be powerful if he could be killed by a stray bullet?

Even he wasn't sure he could regenerate from such a fatal wound to his heart, and he was not ready to test such a theory.

Even back on earth, Tobi had always read about how vampires or werewolves could be easily killed just with venom or silver bullet. One thing he hadn't test out was his regenerative power, he knew too well that once he was seen instantly healing himself from a wound he was bound to be doom.

To him, brute strength was just making violence, whereas intellect was just ideas with no solid practice. Only when the mind and body were trained together, the body and mind could work in perfect synergy.

About a week after Tobi had begun his training.

Tobi was so used to being alone in the woods with his fist and legs causing intense circles of continuous vibrations, that he would always forget he was outside his home.

After a few kicks, his keen ear's made way for his heightened senses to hear hoofs and neigh closing in. His eyes had a dim blue glowed as he activated his Mana vision, he looked towards the source in the distance.

'It seems I have been too loud lately?'The horses were just horses, while the men were far from what he was thinking to be at least.

The one taking the point had a lifeforce of a fire lump, while the one behind him was even weaker with a lifeforce of a candle fire.

Tobi forced himself to hide the strange excitement his body was suddenly feeling.

'My second encounter with complete strangers in this new world, are they good people? It seems that humans are everywhere in the world. I can't wait to find out their intentions!'

Tobi stood there, waiting for them to arrive.

The first man seemed respectful to the person behind him, displaying a status of a guard or Butler. He was dressed in a hunter suit made of furs, with a crest on both his shoulders. He was an unshaven middle-aged man, with pitched-black short hair, fierce and angry eyes that would scare a child shitless.

The other one was dressed in a suit of much better quality, probably of a higher class. He wore the same crest on his ċhėst, but it seemed to be made of gold embroidered.

He was a kid, maybe fifteen or sixteen years old, with a handsome face and the build of an athlete. The coat fur endowing him emphasizes how standard his family was.

"Hey, kid!" The middle-aged man had a sharp tone to his voice. "What was that noise from before, and what is a kid doing so late at night?"

"Good day, sir. It was just me collecting vegetable stalks. I'm sorry if I had mistakenly got in your way."Tobi's voice sounded genuinely apologetic. He wanted to avoid any sort of trouble.

"Where did you get those?" He said ignoring Tobi's apologies and pointed at the wooden basket of veggies in his hands.

"From the village, Sir." Tobi smiled, keeping watch on their expressions and movement.

"Give them to us now. Let me see if it fits enough to be fed to my horse."The boy had a voice that seemed pissed off, from whatever.

"If you really are sorry, feed them to my horse, and make sure you feed her gently." He said with a taunting smile, you would expect from a villain to the enemy.

Tobi was already pissed off, the moment they spoke to him so rudely. As he soon dropped the act, like a grenade.

"Seriously? Is that how you talk to people? Ain't you too stupid?"

"Silence child!" The middle-aged man rebuked. "Do you know who you are talking to? He is the nephew of a Holy rank Knight."

Tobi had a smile.

"Who the hell cares! For crying out loud what if his uncle is a Holy knight? Does that warrant you all to behave the way you want and feel like?"

"You see Uncle Maxwell! This is what happens when you try ȧssociating with commoners!" The young noble took up the short bow he carried on his back, nocking an arrow. "They are just too stupid and dumb, it's in their bloodline."

He shot the arrow with a perfect aim towards Tobi's shoulder.

However, the ting vibration from the bow made Tobi heightened sense on the alert. His hand grasps the arrow, with an already stretched-out right arm.

With a little force, he broke the arrow into two piece.

Both the young noble and middle-aged guard watched what happened seemingly both flabbergasted as they reeled their horses backward. They knew of one legend that was thought to be tales or rumors, only a cursed child stated as a demonic child could use mysterious magic.

They didn't know why he was there or what his aim was, but knew they couldn't stay there anymore they had to leave immediately!

Even though they had been overwhelmed with fear, the young noble nocked a couple of more arrows towards Tobi's figure. To buy them some time to exaggerate their gap.

Tobi took two steps to the right, dodging the arrows that pierced the ground and near by trees, with a firm grip he pulled two of the arrows on the ground with both hands. And with a precise strategy in mind, he threw one at the middle-aged guard's neck, while the other at the young noble horse throat.

The young noble fell from the horse, as it kept neighing in pain.

"To think that I even bothered giving you guys a chance to get out of here alive." Tobi sighed, shaking his head, displaying his disappointing.

"Demon child! Wait! If you kill me my uncle wouldn't let you off, you and your cursed family will surely die! Think about it"The young noble said. Trying to scare him.

Tobi couldn't help but had a wide smile on his face.

"Really? And who would ever find out what happened here? Or can the dead communicate with the living?" Tobi took a stroll forward, plunging force over the young noble's leg that caused him to howl loudly in pain like a pig being slaughtered.

Next, he walked over towards the direction of the middle-aged guard, that seemed to be struggling and gasping for air with both hands on his neck as he laid on the ground. The middle-aged guard had a look of horror, as Tobi pushed the arrow on the side of his neck, over to the outer edge of his throat killing him in the process.

"Wait, please! Have mercy! I don't want to die!"The noble begged pitifully really terrified, with tears and mucus on his face.

"Just because you are a noble and a nephew of a Holy Knight, doesn't give your damn ȧss the right to kill at your will. But is this how nobles behave? when they lose, theybexpect mercy?" The spite and anger in his voice was increasing, but yet he also sounded calm.

Tobi towered his head as he stared straight at the eyes of the noble with his dim blue eyes, that was subconsciously going from it previous shade into tinted blood red. Causing a cold shiver to run down his spine, with his hair on end.

"You are the type of people, I hate the most.

"As a noble you given literally everything, status, wealth, beauty, a bright future, and all you can do with such a blessing is to screw those who are already screwed?"

Tobi hated the way humans acted selfishly more than anything else, even back on earth where he was killed just because of his own wealth.

In this new world, there were no cameras, GPS, flying drones or smart AI systems, nothing at all. There was only power, and power that once In his life bestowed on him, he was the one wielding and dictating the rules of survival.

"You know, being called a demonic child right from birth wasn't something pleasant or being proud of," Tobi said unsheathing the short knives off the dead guard's body.

"I didn't have the opportunity to mingle with friend, or even talk to my peers, people only looked at me and saw a monster, only my family were there for me, except one bastard I know. But you, on other hand, had everything, friends, and family to look over you."

Bula resounded with screams for hours before the death god's arrival.

Tobi was about to bury their bodies, but at that moment. He smelled a scent that seems to numbed his vampire senses, he could feel the blood gush flowing from his dead victim trickling down his hands.

Tobi had difficulty describing this weird sensation that made him instinctively feel he had an attraction over it, as it seemedly overwhelmed both his body and mind.

His mouth agape opened wide enough, he could feel the mid-ends of something protruding from his teeth. His head was just a few inches from the body before he tried stopping him, from whatever he was doing.

"What the hell is happening to me?" Tobi said as his hands wouldn't stop trembling.
