Chapter 49 - Going Down

2 weeks later, inside the Captain's office.

'So that's what the deformity in my Dan is!' Nero marvelled at the thought of a 'Mindsphere' forming in his body.

At the moment, he was being taught about the secrets of magic by Captain. In these two weeks, Nero had learned about so many wonders that existed in the world. He had learned of the way Nordon empire worked, how one acted towards others, some key laws that everyone followed, and a whole ton of stuff!

In this session, he'd been taught about the Mindsphere - a rare mutation found in Mages. The mindsphere existed inside the Dan, it had the ability to hold one's consciousness where one could store and interact with manifestations of physical objects. Its greatest use was that it could let a mage insta-cast inscriptions.

Yes, Inscriptions!

He had learned what inscriptions were and touched on how they worked. Unfortunately, even knowing more about inscriptions didn't let Nero make use of the inscription he'd learnt from Madison.

The reason was his intent.

Apparently, intents were a large part of a mage, they played a role in all sorts of things. One's intent mostly determined what role they played like suppose the intent to destroy made Captain Killian more suited to be a close combat damage dealer or somebody with the intent to fortify made a good Vanguard.

The point was that Nero had learned a lot! Though the gained knowledge answered a key few questions he had, it brought way more questions than it answered.

What really itched Nero was how it all worked.

'How the hell can my consciousness travel into my mindsphere? That's some straight-up voodoo shit!'

'No, it's not, you've literally sent yourself across dozens of bodies before.' Nova nonchalantly replied in his head.

'Alright fine! But! It's still kinda weird we have the so-called mutation growing inside us, we're supposed to have the perfect body... how come we have it?'

'The only thing that could reasonably explain it is that it's not a 'mutation' at all, rather, everybody else had mutated bloodlines, disallowing them to continue forming Mindspheres. Of course, it could be some other reason.' Nova gave a quick analysis.

'But that doesn't explain why some extraordinary pills could let somebody form it so easily, I think it's like unlocking mana control, it has a specific requirement that, after being fulfilled, gives the go-ahead for the body to form the Mindsphere. Captain also said that some Hunters awakened the Mindsphere as they advanced to a Slayer, I'm positive the reason for other's not naturally having a Mindsphere is different.'

Nero gave his perspective on the topic, his hypothesis varied from Nova's because Nova didn't have the ability to think as Nero did. Naturally, their thoughts wouldn't be similar.

"Alright, that's where I'll end it today. We only have a little less than 4 days left till we reach our destination, hopefully, no wind turbulence messes with our course of the journey, hopefully."

'Hopefully, Saestro airforces won't make any troubles for us.' The Captain inwardly added.

He had, out of his impatience, chosen to take a shorter route, going right over Saestro instead of around it.

Saestro was a very unique tiny nation located at the southern joint of Yndralis and Nordon, it was more well known as the Baron's land for the rulers of the small nation were the 12 Barons.

12 Barons, 12 Demons.

This Nation was about as big as Plumon and a lawless zone where only the name of the Barons gave its citizens a reason to live there.

12 Demons were pretty much the number of Demons any large nation had, yet, for some reason these 12 Barons never invaded other lands, only devouring what came to them. There were many conspiracies formed because of the small nation, some thought that Barons were a part of Devyos, a small underground organisation that was thought to have gained power from the Goddess of Betrayal, and in turn, had to sacrifice their freedom.

Many rumours and conspiracies came from the lawless land of Saestro, however, none had yet officially be confirmed.

What made the Captain cautious of the Nation was its advanced military. Saestro had 12 kingdoms that were incredibly advanced in terms of using technology, its airforce was, fortunately, only subpar compared to Nordon Empire.

Nero had learned of pretty much all of this from the records he'd received and the knowledge imparted personally by the Captain, the amount of geographical and historical knowledge he now had stored was no less than a well-versed Mainlander.

Collectively speaking, Nero had gained information on the topic of Inscriptions, Major events from the past, Mainland, Sects and Clans, Cultivation, Martial Artists, Ki: A topic that especially caught Nero's attention, Magical Beasts, Magical Stones, and many other arbitrary topics.

He was quite pleased with the gains from this.

In this time of 2 weeks, every single being aboard gas Giant knew well of his name and identity, 'The Youngest Hunter'.

After all, it was simply unheard of to become a Hunter at the age of 7! What's more comical is that Nero became a Hunter even before that, what would people think if they knew of this?

However, something else was chewing on Nero's mind, Micheal.

From what Nero could ascertain, Micheal was indeed 10 years old and at the brink of becoming 11, but his comprehension was simply amazing!

Nero had previously probed at him so he could give away something could explain even a little at why he was so smart but his answer was very mysterious, he explained this cl.i.c.k.i.n.g inside of him that suddenly let him understand what was before him, just like that.

He quoted, "From somewhere inside my mind, there's this feeling that everything in front of me has a connection of a sort and only a little focus lets me connect it all."

He went on and further explained in detail, "This feeling was the only reason I passed the execution, something in my mind told me that the dagger in my hand had to stab right into this man before me, I am as clueless as you are about why things just start to make sense so easily."

Nero's friend was not any less odd than him. This explanation he gave sounded similar to what happened to one of his experiments.

Nero highly disregarded the possibility of Micheal's mind being tampered with, he couldn't think of a single possibility that would make consciousness transfer possible in this undeveloped world.

'Maybe he's just a 200 IQ natural who knows... Might as well check up on him first.' Nero was in the middle of the long corridor that led to Junior's corridor when suddenly-

THUD THUD CRASH

Loud shaking engulfed the Blimp, followed by an earth-shattering BOOM.

The chassis of the bottom of the Blimp started to make way, the living compartments inwardly started to collapse and the Blimp was invaded from the tore open entrance bay, revealing a quartet of red-hooded figures.

In only an instant, everything went to Hell.
