Devoured Eccentric

Nero was fortunate to be located away from the entrance bay.

All of the children residing inside their living quarters had rushed out by the time Nero got hold of the duo. Like everybody else, they had first grouped up together and started making way to a more spacious area like the Lounge.

Nero shouted out and waved his hand towards the two brown-haired boys mixed in with the rushing crowd, "Mike! Follow me!"

Both the capable listeners immediately made their way out of the crowd towards Nero who was standing near the Senior's lobby. "Mike you gotta take a look outside!" Nero exclaimed loudly while pointing to the nearest window.

Outside, 2 large floating Air balloons with the insignias of a hand clawing out with an inscription in the centre of the palm came in clear view.

"We're being attacked by the Saestro airforces! We'll likely be kidnapped seeing as they didn't shott the Blimp down even after knowing our course." Nero explained hurriedly. In his mind, he was clear-headed and focused but because he thought quick, he relayed what he knew hastily.

"What? Why would they want us? Nero, since you know better, we'll follow your lead from here." Seeing as Micheal did not have any idea about this invasion that sprung upon them, he put his trust into Nero who had greater knowledge and understanding of the matter.

'I don't think I could slaughter my way out of this, now that I know the power of inscriptions that Mainlanders wield, I think our best option is to hide and surrender when the time comes. Nova, analyse the situation with all your ability, find any and every opportunity that could help us get out and survive.

'And if I have to, I'll save the two of us, me and Micheal, we won't be able to accommodate a third person while flying. Hopefully, it won't get to that point... Hopefully.'

.There is a high likelihood that the enemy air vehicles are flawed and easy to take down at close range, the user can disrupt the source of power for the Air balloons without blowing his cover.

.Alert: Please be advised of keeping a distance from the 4 newly boarded Slayers on the Blimp, due to their concealed nature, only a very small hint of mana was picked up, the Captain is unexpected to know of their arrival.

Nero's heart jumped momentarily, settling down once again as he started to make his way to farthest corner from the entrance bay.

Seeing Nero start to move with direction, the duo accordingly followed.

Over the time they'd spent with Nero, the duo knew of Nero's maturity and experience, every one his moves was filled with drive and focus, giving an impression of knowing what he was doing to the duo.

Halfway to Nero's destination, the lights went haywire and the roof began to collapse and descend slowly. Screams of children created a requiem of dissonance with the sound of the mainframe collapsing and the metal screeching.

Finally, after what felt like hours, the trio reached the cabin crew's restroom.

"Don't tell me you wanted to use the restroom at this time!" Micheal was confused by Nero's intention to come here, he didn't know that the Gas Giant had already been infiltrated by Slayers.

"Listen up, I sense the mana of 4 Slayers from the entrance bay where the loud bang came from, this place is the farthest from there. I don't put my trust in the Captain's battle ability but I do know that a fight between Slayers is no ordinary brawl.

"I reckon it's our safest bet to hide far away from the infiltrators and last the longest. If, for any reason, the Blimp starts losing altitude faster, trust my ability and stay with me. If that happens, nobody but me or the captain can save you."

The duo was shocked by the idea of Slayers boarding a flying Blimp such as theirs, never in their wildest dreams would they have imagined of such a situation to take place!

They quickly decided to follow what Nero said and hide for the time being.

Not more than a few minutes later, sounds of loud clashes made their way to group's ears. The battle had begun, 1 Skilled Slayer and 12 Peak Hunters against 4 Slayers at an unknown stage.

Thuds and Crashes continued for what seemed like an eternity, they were constant and unrelenting.

Then, the sounds abruptly came to a stop, concluding with a long and deep sound of screeching metal.

While this all happened, the Blimp had already lost a great amount of altitude without showing signs of stabilising. Turbulence, or what it seemed like, was heavy on the souls inside the Blimp, Nero's group had tightly gripped the nearby pipes that horizontally ran past each urinal.

Even with Nero's keen hearing, after the battle ended, not a scream made its way to Nero, moreover, the strong Aura from the Captain that was enough for Nero to tell his location with relative accuracy had now dwindled to nothing.

A thought came to Nero's mind.

'He's dead.'

Not to mention, the twelve other crew members had their scattered auras dimish one by one. Fortunately, they were all quite far from Nero's location, giving him a small peace of mind in this horribly gone wrong situation.

"The Captain's aura is gone, he's most likely dead. The crew is also disappeared, I can only sense one aura from the Senior's lounge- oh, it's gone, this is a tragedy!" Nero just couldn't think of a way to juke himself out of this situation, it was simply too unexpected!

'I can't fly with two people but I think I could glide down safely, I'm quite sure this wall separates us from pipe room where the waste is ejected out as air. That ejection area is our safest bet to get out of here.' Decisively, Nero used as little Basic mana as possible and started to slowly break bonds between the plaster wall, to keep the living space light, the walls were made to be light and durable, but not rigid.

He could've gone fast but there was a chance that some of his mana might get forced out and get detected by one of the Slayers, he was far enough to use mana to the b.a.r.e minimum.

To speed things up, he only made a whole small enough to crouch through, immediately seeing large thick pipes running in from every direction except the left wall.

'Oh shit, I forgot I can't cut through metal without using Adept mana... Wait, forget that, I have my Scythe from when I went to the junior's corridor to find Micheal, I forgot it in the toilets.'

"Micheal, bring my scythe through first," Nero said at an audible volume.

"Here,"

'Man am I lucky! We've got an escape window right here! Even better, not a single air balloon has a view of it!' Nero happily started slicing out a large chunk of the window to accommodate the three of them.

"Wait, no way! You're thinking of jumping? Do you have a way of surviving a 4000-foot drop?!" Micheal was shocked at Nero's insane new plan.

"Ohoho, don't worry about that, you're about to get the shock of your surprise..."
