Electrify

The night continued and I answered all the questions mom had about my powers. Well, almost all of them because I left the whole 'not a human' part out along with the celestial and cosmic level stuff as well. 

"And the suit comes out of nowhere? How does that work? Is it some technology because I would love to apply it on my product at the boutique." Mom said in an excited tone. 

"It is literal magic and only magicians can use it. Now, there is another bomb I would like to drop." I said and she raised an eyebrow.

"The whole superpower thing wasn't a bomb enough?" She asked. 

"It was but this is whole another level. Because I am a hero, there are a bunch of bad guys that would like to hurt you and your boyfriend in order to hurt me. So, we need to hide this connection from everyone." I said and she looked worried.

"And how would you do that?" She asked. 

"That is already done. You just need to live your life without mentioning my power or the whole living situation, because according to the papers and government I died that night of the accident." I said and she looked like she was gonna cry again. 

"So, you can't visit anymore? Are you going to leave me too." She said. 

"What? I told you I can teleport from anywhere to here. You can use this band to contact me anytime. You just don't have to mention my powers to anyone or that I am alive. Basically, you will be living exactly like always. And I already promised you that I won't leave you." I said with a sigh. 

"You forgot that he can teleport, right?" Fiore asked her and she got flustered. 

"It is a lot to take in ok." She said and hugged me again. 

We laughed and ate dinner like a family until mom decided to make things awkward and asked Fiore about the length of our relationship. 

"So, how long have you been together." She asked and Fiore thought about it. 

"8 months or 10 months. Can't be sure." She answered nonchalantly. 

"Maxwell Dillon, when were you going to tell me about this girl?" She glared at me. 

"Mom, she is the niece of Thor. I could exactly tell you before because she wasn't acclimated to earth's culture." I said and Fiore blushed. 

"Tell me about this." She said with a smirk. 

"Hey. Not fair." Fiore protested but it didn't work. 

We enjoyed the rest of the evening before I showed Fiore my room. We looked at the single bed and snuggled close for a night's rest. The next day, we left for the base and prepared for tomorrow's conference. I reported my plan to Fury and he was shocked. 

"Kid, this move of yours will open a whole different can of worms. We would need to run interference with many countries. I can't even imagine what reaction Wakanda would have." He said and looked back at the plans. 

"Wakanda's reaction is not really a problem but it is the rest of the superpowers we need to be worried about. All of them have some super-powered individuals and all of them have tried human testing for superpowers. I dug this back when we busted Hydra. Now, we can use it to resolve this situation." I said and he nodded.  .

"Are you asking for 100 agents on site? For security? What are you expecting?" He asked. 

"Terrorists of all kinds. Idiots in general. Incompetence of UN security." I said and he nodded. 

"Sure. Go ahead. I will control the force in the field should the need arise." He said and pointed me to the door. "Get out and prepare."

Wow, even now, he is still an ȧsshole. That aside. I began to write down a speech on the super-powered individual and their role in the ecosystem of earth. I even used Thoth's eye to get the most out of my verbal prowess. I updated all the databases with my new identity as an orphan and forged new certifications for everything. I even ran all the checks for all the agencies to find out any inconsistencies and rectified those as well. After a good day of hard work, I was done with my speech and my credentials. I focused on the part where Zimo bombed the UN and that couldn't be allowed to happen. I used the local resources to create a 3 layered zone of security with absolutely no unnecessary personnel. Near the conference room, there would only be the dignitaries and their ȧssistants. No guards allowed as well because seriously, who would allow an armed escort into the hall. All the key aspiration points were secured and there were missile counter systems in place. I even called in Fantastic 4, a few X men and Peter for added protection but kept them out of the loop for now. I had my teams check all the broadcast equipment and all the electronics as well. Basically, made sure that the conference site was an airtight fortress. 

The day arrived and the dignitaries of 143 nations poured in and my measures ensured all of them were clean and that there would be no random explosion. I got dressed in my classic Electro costume and strapped all my weapons and got ready to address the nations. The teams immediately detected 12 bombs, 13 snipers, 2 missiles and 1 biological weapon. All of those things were taken care of in silence and secrecy. King T'chaka being the leading dignitary of the conference began the conference. 

"The incident in Nigeria claimed the lives of 27 innocent people due to an action of a group of powerful individuals. That amount seems paltry when compared to the destruction caused in Sokovia. The result of another action by the same group. We cannot in good faith and conscience allow these costly mistakes to be repeated again. We will march forth and fight for the future and for the generations to come. Just like I called this conference, taking the first step to the future. Despite the fact that the Vibranium stolen from Wakanda was used for weapons of mass destruction, we are willing to look past this mistake and are thankful to the Avengers for supporting these Accords." He said and let the crowd marinate for a while before continuing. "From the Avengers, Electro would like to say a few words before we begin to go through that ratification." He said and I began to walk to the stage. 

People were concerned because of the weapon I had on my body and whispers began to float around. I took the podium and looked at the crowd to silence them. 

"The Avengers are a group of super-powered or super armed individuals that intervene in many events around the world. We are living people and are prone to make mistakes, but it just happens that our mistakes cost lives. The incident in Sokovia was one such mistake and so was the incident in Nigeria. The incident in Nigeria had taken the lives of Wakandan people who were there in charity and welfare efforts. I looked into every death that our actions had caused and I remember each and every name. In total we had played a hand in over 50,000 deaths. Despite those deaths, we have saved about 79 billion people. Yes, 79 billion. About 10 times the population of earth. We did this by simply saving the world from many world ending threats." I said and looked at the horrified looks of people around. "Now, due to a few mistakes, you want the Superpowered community to fall under the control of the UN. Not only do all super powered individuals fall under the UN, they would also have to publicly report all their powers, their identities and whereabouts. Those who do not comply would be labeled liabilities and criminals and would either be imprisoned or be killed." I said and the reporters stayed silent but there were whispers among the dignitaries. "I have taken down drug lords, slavers, murderers and thieves. I have taken down super-powered criminals as well. Now, imagine what would happen to my family, if they all had the information about my identity. Would the UN be responsible for their safety? What would be the quality of life they would have under the protection programme?" I said and pressed a buŧŧon on my helmet.

"I am Maxwell Dillon. I put on a mask to protect my precious people, but now they have been exposed as well." Dignitaries received the news that I was an orphan and didn't really have any friends. "Justify this action of yours." I said and looked at T'chaka before heading down. 

The old man had a frown and his fist was clenched. He made it up to the podium and began to speak. 

"Mr. Dillon, you say that you have exposed your identity and put your family in danger, but I do not see any records of your supposed family. If there was then I would have ȧssured you that their safety would be the priority of the UN. Regarding your justification of the actions of avengers, the lives that were lost would have been reduced if your group was under the leadership of the UN. The UN won effectively and efficiently would deploy the individuals as the need arises. The accords would allow everyone to stop hiding behind a mask and live freely." He said with a smile and began to address everyone. "Now, I would like to begin the ratification of the accords." 

I immediately stood up and began to display the beautiful city of Wakanda on the television. I released all the footage I had acquired and more. Then I began to display the torturous experiment done by the nations and dumped the files onto the internet for the world to see. 

"King T'chaka, I have found a video clip of a warrior dressed as a panther patrolling the continent of Africa. I have also found out all the technological advancement of Wakanda. I know that you were the first people on the moon and the first space faring nation. I know about your country's base on the moon. So, while you were preaching about exposing all super powered individuals, you were hiding your entire country? And you expect everyone to blindly follow and trust a liar's words." I asked and the room erupted in questions and shouts. 

The effect was obvious and soon, the entire accords were dissolved and all the nation went their own separate ways due to the deception of T'chaka. Once, the dignitaries had left, I was surrounded by reporters and answered many questions. 

"Mr. Dillon, how did you acquire that footage?" A reporter asked. 

"I am a spy, infiltration and information gathering is what we do."

"What is your stance on super-powered people and mutants?" Another asked. 

"My stance is positive seeing that I am a mutant myself. I don't claim that we are all good but most of us are good and only dėsɨrė to lead normal lives." I said. 

"What about the brotherhood of mutants?" 

"They are moronic brain dead idiots that rage on about Mutant superiority. They are terrorists and no one should negotiate with terrorists." I said and many of the people gasped. 

"But professor Xavier classified mutants under the term Homo-superior. Doesn't that say that even the good one thinks of them above us?"

"He probably does or at least subconsciously. My preferred term is Meta-humans because in nearly every way, we are human. Though, someone us have superpowers but why is that a bad thing. There is this whole stigma that we are trying to take over but it is nonsense. This is a part of the evolution process and it is for all intents and purposes a natural part of life. There is nothing to be scared of." I said with a sigh. 

"But aren't the powers extremely dangerous and shouldn't these people be controlled?" Someone asked. 

"Some Powers are extremely dangerous but they can be trained to be effective in many scenarios. We all know that aliens are real and are most likely unfriendly to say the least. Isn't it great that we have super-powered people on our side. Seriously, if your kid has some ability that could be used to help mankind, should that kid be loved even more. Despite the superpowers, that kid is still your child and nothing should make you afraid enough to hate them. If you do have concerns regarding the powers and its magnitude. You can call Shield and we will help you and you kid understand his ability." I said. 

"About the Aliens, how many are there and how strong are they?" 

"Any space faring species is technically more advanced and more powerful than us and there are millions of space faring species. Some are friendly but most of them look at our planet and think about all the resources that can be harvested. After all, why would any highly advanced species like our none space faring species. They will most likely exterminate humans, take all our resources and blow up that planet for good measure." I said and felt the mood go down. 

"Then can we trust our superpower humans to take a stand for us?" 

"Yes, because we are all we got in this universe." I said and walked away to avoid any other questions. 

 I went to the shield teams and began to send back our personnel and other resources back to the nearby bases. I felt many super powered individuals closing in on me and I greeted them with a smile.

"Hey, guys. What nice weather we have today." I said with a chuckle and Peter decked me in the face but I dodged. 

"You ashole. You could have told me. I was so worried about . ." He stopped and looked at me. 

"Yeah ,yeah. Everything is fine." I said. 

"Yes, everything is better." Xavier said with a smile. "I do apologize for my part in the discrimination against the Meta-humans." 

"It is definitely better than mutants or Satan spawn." Ororo said with a chuckle. 

"However, this will pull the Meta-humans in a much harsher scrutiny." Steve said but he had a smile that boasted confidence. 

"Tony is throwing a fit at the HQ." Natasha said and laughed as she watched Tony and General Ross bitch about everything and at each other. 

I had saved that footage and I plan to play it every chance I get. Hilarity aside, we found Zimo and boy was that good news. We not only uncovered a hidden base in Alaska, we found 4 superpowered brainwashed ȧssassins, which were dead. Well, the first thing we did was take those bodies into the flying city where they were preserved for further super soldier testing. He also had a handbook on him which described the procedure that was used to brainwash the ȧssassins and the words that were used as the trigger. With the day finally behind us, Fiore and I headed to the Queen's base for a rest. We neared the base and I picked up 2 places and around 30 people inside the base. 

"Fiore we have some uninvited company. Be ready." I said and she instantly had her battle gear on. 

"How many?" She asked and began to walk to the entrance. 

"30 and all of them are armed." I said and opened the entrance. 

We found the Black Panther, T'chaka and his guards sitting in the cafeteria. Even Shuri was here and she had a gun or a gun shaped device at the least. 

"I would welcome you T'chaka but you have lost a lot of respect in my eyes today." I said and pulled out my plasma sword. 

"Insolent child. What you did was more than just expose me. You exposed my nation and put my people at risk." He said as he stood up. 

"And what you did put many others at risk. What goes around comes around, T'chaka." I said and one if his female guard threw her spear at me. 

Before the spear could even reach me, the guard had already died with an arrow to her brain. I caught the spear and planted it into the ground. 

"No, who ordered you to attack." He yelled at the guard but soon noticed the hole in her head. "You killed her." He glared at Fiore and yelled to stop all the Guards from attacking. 

"Did you expect me to not kill her after she attacked?" Fiore asked with a mocking tone. 

"I was trying to help the world but you caused this. Now, the world would hate us and you are to be blamed this. Now, another one of my people is dead and you caused it directly by keeping your pet Asgardian. This is why you people should be kept away from the innocents." He yelled at me. 

As soon as he called Fiore my pet. I had begun to release electricity into the air and it bagan to spark and caused many malfunctions in the technology. I raced up to T'chaka and placed the glowing sword on his neck. 

"Tell me, you lying piece of shit. What was your plan here? You came to my home and insulted my lover and claimed to put me in a cage. Tell me why I shouldn't kill you and then march over to your kingdom and commit a genocide there." I growled. 

"Because that will help neither of us. My father despite his words came with the intention to negotiate." T'challa said and removed his mask. "I apologize for his words. Please, calm down." He said. 

"Fine, but the negotiations will have to wait till tomorrow and will be had inside the Shield HQ or the Avengers HQ. Either way, get out and I will see you tomorrow morning at 9." I said and walked away.

They left in quite the hurry and Shuri even left behind a communication bead. 

"I would have been angry enough to kill all those people a few months back. But now I can't even muster up the anger to their insults." She said and looked at me. "You on the other hand were quick to anger. Would you have killed the old man if the apology wasn't offered?"

"No, but I would have punched him and kicked them all out." I pulled her closer and gently kissed her. "I am sorry that you had to hear that. How can I make it up to you?" I asked. 

"I can think of a few ways." She said as she grabbed my buŧŧ. 

Fiore had a few ideas about the time we spent in the bed room and those ideas had come from a book called kamasutra.. Noice.
