Enigma: Being Chased By A Sly Ghost Husband

Chapter 23 - Something off [1]

The door to the apartment was pushed open, and Min Aera stepped into the room. Shin Ryujin stood beside the door, and her face was visibly pale.

Ryujin was not the one to get easily frightened. However, this entire incident left a bad feeling within her, and the anxiety in her began to rise.

Aera walked further into the room and pursed her lips into a thin line. There was surprise in her eyes for a slight second before it all disappeared, and a chuckle escaped from her mouth.

Distinctly hearing that, a confused expression sat on Ryujin's face, and getting closer to Aera, she questioned, "What was that about?"

Min Aera turned to face Ryujin, and extending her hand towards Ryujin, she pinched both of her cheeks.

Aera then said, "Is this what you were panicking so much about? I thought it was much more serious."

"This is serious. The lock to the doors or windows were not broken, and there were no signs of the anyone being inside the apartment. How the hell did everything get into such a messy state?" Ryujin pointed out.

"So, what do you think? A ghost stepped in and did this?" Aera questioned, raising one of her eyebrows.

"Should we get an exorcist?" Ryujin asked.

"This must have been done by you. You tend to sleepwalk a lot, Ryujin, and this is not the first time you have created such a mess. Don't you remember the countless number of times you wake up in random places," Min Aera spoke out.

Shin Ryujin had an intuition that Aera was trying to hide something from her, but finding that to be absurd, she drove that away from her mind. There was no way Aera could be doing that; the two of them shared everything.

"No, I know that I sleepwalk, but this is too much of mess. Am I possessed by some kind of evil spirit? I went to the fortune teller the other day, and she mentioned to me on how an—"

Before Shin Ryujin was able to continue her words, she felt her ear being gripped tightly and pulled. A wince left her mouth as she saw that Aera was behind it.

"What did you say? You visited a what?" Aera questioned— her voice showing anger.

"Ouch! Aera, calm down, and let go of my ear. Let's talk calmly and civilly," Ryujin said, forcing out a smile upon her face.

"Calmly? Civilly? Isn't that what I did last time around? But it seems that doesn't work with you! Should I resort to spanking you?" Aera vocalised while her eyes glared at Ryujin.

Extending her hands toward Aera, Ryujin pulled Aera into a tight hug, causing Ryujin to let go of her ear. Her ear had turned red, and the pain slowly dissipated.

"Aera-ah, I promise that I really did not want to go to the fortune teller. But the lady seemed to be in a desperate need of money, and you know, how I can't ignore those in need? So, I just decided to go to her. However, don't worry! I didn't believe a word of what she said and treated them like bullshit. Come on, you know what I am like, Aera, don't you?"
