Enigma: Being Chased By A Sly Ghost Husband

Chapter 4 - An Unique Beginning [4]

The streets of Seoul were illuminated up with white lights. Swinging the bag of groceries in her hand, Shin Ryujin walked towards the direction of her apartment.

As she walked, something caught her eyes, and Ryujin halted in her steps. Turning towards the Fortune Teller's tent, Ryujin found herself being reluctant.

Opening her purse, Ryujin saw couple of coins inside of it, and she sighed. Taking in a deep breath, Ryujin stepped closer to the Fortune Teller's tent. Maybe she would hear something good today.

Pushing back the clothing, Shin Ryujin stepped into the tent. Behind a wooden desk, a cloaked woman, dressed in black and red, was seated.

A set of cards were placed on the table, and hearing the footsteps from Ryujin, the cloaked woman stared at her. Forcing out a smile on her face, Ryujin bowed at the woman.

"Come in, Dear. I can sense an extremely omnious aura around you; It is giving me chills," The Fortune Teller vocalised.

Hearing the words from the Fortune Teller, Shin Ryujin immediately rushed towards the chair, and pulling it back, Ryujin sat down upon it.

Staring at the Fortune Teller with desperation in her eyes, Ryujin vocalised, "Ahjumma, I know. My life is going on the path to ruination. Please help me, Ahjumma."

The Fortune Teller picked up the deck of tarot cards and shuffled them. After that, the tarot cards were placed at the table in an orderly man.

"First choose three cards, Dear."

Shin Ryujin nodded.

At that moment, the pitter-patter noises reached her ears. Ryujin realized that it was currently raining, and her eyes widened at that thought. Creases appeared between her eyebrows, and a frown formed.

According to the weather prediction, the skies would be clear today, and no signs of rain were spotted. Therefore, Shin Ryujin did not carry an umbrella with her. She and her groceries were bound to get wet now.

"Hurry up! It's raining," The Fortune Teller vocalised.

Shin Ryujin nodded and closed her eyes. Whilst praying in her mind that she picks the card she desperately wishes for, Ryujin extended her hands toward the cards.

Ryujin's hand trembled as she picked up the first card, and opening her eyes, she handed the card to Ryujin. The sounds of rain were starting to get louder, causing Ryujin's mood to turn worse.

Ryujin hoped that the rain would stop before before she exits the Fortune Teller's tent. Noticing how the Fortune Teller's eyebrows furrowed, anxiety began to rise within her.

'It's just one card, Ryujin. The other two might be better.'

Picking two cards carefully, Ryujin handed them over to the Fortune Teller. Shin Ryujin's heart palpitated rapidly in her c.h.e.s.t as she waited for the result.

The streets around him were empty. Ahn Jaein drove under the dark skies. The rain hit against his roof, creating constant noises, and the windscreen wiper moved in a pattern, repeatedly clearing the glass.

A nonchalant expression sat on Ahn Jaein's face, and his eyes stared straight at the road whilst driving at a normal speed. His eyebrows were furrowed.

His eyes widened when he noticed the sudden headlights illuminating the roads. The car rushed towards him at an extremely high speed, and wondering on how drunk the person driving could be, Ahn Jaein swerved his car to the left.

Seeing the Fortune Teller so deep in thought, the ominous feeling within Shin Ryujin intensified, and due to apprehension, she bit her lips. Her fingers tapped on the table in front of her, and she gulped.

"What's the matter, Ahjumma? I-Is it that bad?" Shin Ryujin questioned— her anxiety being noticed in her tone.

The Fortune Teller nodded her head.

"This is horrible. It's been a while since I have seen such a case," The Fortune Teller vocalised.

"A-Am I going to stay unemployed forever? Will I never date anyone or get married? Could it be that I will be this poor always?" Shin Ryujin questioned. Ryujin was afraid to hear the answer.

"Worse, Dear, much worse."

"C-Could i-it be that I will be on the streets soon or suicide out of depression?" Ryujin asked whilst her heart beat rate intensified by a lot.

"No, Dear. It is nothing like that. Your life will take a strange turn, and getting it back to normal is impossible. A..."

The car in front of Ahn Jaein halted. Ahn Jaein's car swerved to the left, and before he could control his car, his car was headed towards the tree.

A loud sound was heard. Ahn Jaein's eyes widened as his car crashed against the tree in front of him. The rain continued to fall, and the roar of thunder spread through the air.

The Fortune Teller continued, "A death will bring such changes to your life, and one wrong decision will lead to your ruin. Your paths will be filled with thorns, and each one of them will be poisonous and painful.

You need to avoid them in order to survive. You are required to be both smart and persistent. However, if you manage to survive until the end, you'll be gifted with a successful love and life. I have seen couple with your fate, and none of them survived."

Shin Ryujin scoffed and vocalised, "What type of prediction is that?"

Placing the coins on top of the Fortune Teller's table, Ryujin stood up and walked towards the direction of the room. Disbelief showed on Ryujin's face. Although Ryujin was jobless currently, she did not take the things to be that serious as the Fortune Teller put it.

Before Ryujin could walk out, the Fortune Teller voiced out, "He will come to you soon, very soon."

A chill went down Ryujin's back as she heard the words, and shaking her head, Ryujin walked out of the tent. That was completely a waste of her money.

°°°

Blood flowed down Ahn Jaein's forehead whilst his eyes stared at the photo in front of him. A smiling Ryujin was in the photo, and extending his hand towards photo, Jaein held the photo before drifting off to darkness.
