It all started like every other day. The sun was shining down on me as I ran through my peaceful town of Itsumo in a hustle. I couldn't wait to get home, ignoring the rest of the world as my thoughts drifted happily to what awaited me when I got there.

My favorite and the bestest anime ever, Prism Prism Magia! I ordered the package a week ago and today was the day it was set to arrive! Oh I can't wait! Though I hope my brother do anything to it...

Oh right! I forgot to introduce myself! Silly me!

My name is Homura Hakkagu, the magical girl fanatic!

...Hey wait! It might be true but don't make me acknowledge it! I'm not just some girl who only has magical girls on the brain you know?! Ah, but that's completely true isn't it?

Whatever, today was the day I won't have anything bring me down!

"I have arrived!" I scream happily as I entered my home, only to find my older brother, Baku, with a giant package that had the word D.Entertainment printed on the side.

"What's that?" I asked, peering over his shoulder in order to find a label on it.

"None of your interest Hot Head." My brother answered, whacking me away from the table causing me to stumble a bit.

"I am not hot headed!" I screamed as I regained my balance. Raising my fist in order to whack him back only to stop as I realized I had fallen directly into his trap.

"You were saying?" He asked, a smug smile sitting on his face as his wicked eyes seemed to bore into my soul.

"Shut up you idiot." I replied with a more calm but still annoyed tone. "Speaking of packages... did one arrived for me?

"Yeah it's on the tab-" Before he could finish I sprinted off and grabbed my package, not stopping to do anything else as I ran into my room and locked the door. Holding the package to my c.h.e.s.t and squealing in joy.

"Finally you have arrived! My precious Blu-ray limited edition of Prism Prism Magia!" I yelled triumphantly, quickly tearing into the package only to find my expectations and my heart broken into tiny little pieces.

"W-What's this?! T-This isn't my limited edition!" I exclaimed, trembling as I took in the content of my package. "IT'S AN OLD BOOK!!!"

A few seconds passed before I did what I did best in times like these.

I got angry.

"ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled with all my heart, throwing the book at door only for Baku to knock on it moments later.

"Oi, keep it down Hot Head. I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood heard that." He chided me through the door, "What's even the problem anyways?"

Eyes watering, I opened the door and held the book out to his face. "They got my order wrong!"

"...That's it?' He deadpanned, "Who do you thinks paying for that anyways?"

"How do you think you would feel if that package you got turned out to be some old piece of junk?!"

"Alright alright. Calm down." He replied, hesitantly head patting me much to my annoyance. "I'll go to the post office and get this sorted out. In the meantime, you go figure out what that book is about."

I sighed as he left, closing the door and locking it tight before starting down at the book in my hands.

Well... it couldn't hurt could it?

I collapsed onto my bed before flipping through the pages of the book, tiredly expecting myself to give up on the one thing that had ruined my whole day.

...Huh? What's this? Why's there only a single line written in the whole book? And on the first page no less?

"Ure igne animae meae?" I mumbled out loud in confusion. What is this, Latin?

Suddenly the book starts glowing with a bright red colored light and energy starts bursting out from the book. Out of nowhere a ball of blue fire starts forming in the center before taking shape of a small blue girl holding a lantern with an ethereal glow.

"Hello there. Are you my master?" She asks in a cute voice that's like a melody to my ears.

"W-What?"

From that moment onward, my life had been flipped upside down. I was no longer Homura the magical girl fanatic; I was Homura Hakkagu, Mage of the Spirit Flames.
