Fate's Game [GL]

Chapter 13 - Chameleon

Five minutes later, after Sasha gave his last command, Emil executed everything he said, getting rid of the heavy gear and parting from his group one last time.

They all stared in each others eyes in silence, not to destroy the serious mood. And afterwards, turning away, going their own way.

Emil was running and running with no goal at sight, but somehow he felt a stifling feeling in his heart. He didn't wanted to leave Sasha alone, so he turned around to the direction Sasha roughly must have been.

That's when he was caught.

A hair rising chill went through his back, his body instinctively rolled to his right side, able to dodge an attack, by a slight margin. His left arm was still cut and it was a deep one.

Luckily, he had removed his gear, otherwise it wouldn't have ended with a cut on his arm, rather his head would habe been chopped off.

Feeling weird that his assailant stopped attacking, althought she had the chance for it, when he was still disoriented rolling on the floor.

He looked up, seeing his assailant was waiting for him to get back his composition, due to whatever reason.

Such an act was for Emil a taboo, if he has the chance to kill, then he would kill. What was she waiting for?

Standing up, he looked into the eyes of his foe.

It was a woman completely in green tones, from her hair to her shoes, even her eyes where like a toxic green. It was the best way to camouflage herself in this forest.

Her mouth was concealed by a mask and Emil could only see the upper half of her face. Her eyes were cold and looking inorganic with that toxic green color, like the eyes of a serpent.

This had to be Chameleon, the glasses guy talked about a while ago. A well deserving name, it fitted her perfectly!

A clear frosty voice came out from her.

"Say handsome, do you have interest of becoming my pet? You're good looking, have a well formed body and mesmerising eyes. I think you will survive a bit longer!"

She stood relaxed there, as if she did not fear Emil's retaliation. She was so sure of herself, that she would come out scratch free from a clash between them both, that she had no need of taking her guard up.

And the funny thing was, Emil himself too believed he had no chance against her. It was already lucky for him, to dodge one attack! Would he survive a direct clash in this case?

Nop, no chance!

But he had no d.e.s.i.r.e to be her pet, minutes went by and more cold sweat broke out his body.

Making himself ready, for any kind of sudden moves from the Chameleon, Emil gulped and said, "Lady, thanks for the offer, you flatter me. But... I don't like to be kept!"

With that said, Chameleon had no change of her expression, but she swiftly took out some throw knifes, from who knows where, and threw them at him, missing by just a centimeter, cutting only some hair strands.

Thankfully, Emil prepared himself and watched her attentively or a throwing knife would stick on his face.

Wow!

What a feisty woman!

She was indeed scary!

Emil rolled back again on the muddy ground, taking shelter behind a wide tree. Today wasn't his day, it was like the muddy ground was inviting him, to have a mud bath.

"You made me upset. My old pet died on the last mission, therefore I give you the privilege to replace him and you say no! Aren't you thinking to highly of yourself, to refuse this sis! If I can't have you, then go die!"

This lady was really crazy! He wasn't an object, he was a living being! He had no interest to be owned by someone and certainly not by the enemy.

He dug in his pocket to take out something, he knew it is despicable, but he was someone who liked to win, so playing by crook or hook was his motto.

The Chameleon was about to attack once more, when she was stopped by a loud shout.

"Ok, ok, I'm willing, I'm willing! So don't kill me, please!" Such a cowardly shout.

The Chameleon's eyebrow raised, she was slightly surprised he changed his mind so fast. But found it was ok, she didn't mind having a tsundere pet at her side, who says one, but thinks two.

New things are interesting, at least she wouldn't be bored.

Emil came out behind the tree, his fists clenched.

The woman stares suspiciously at him, up and down. Was he planning something? It was not smart for him, to leave his hiding place and present himself to her. But it was the right choice, to win her trust, that he really meant to be her pet.

The woman steps in front of Emil, grabbing him by his face.

"Not bad. A bit dirty, but smooth skin! You must have stood under the sun a little bit too much! Your tan is too dark, for your fare face. Hmm, your skin would be a tint lighter with some creme- AAAHHHH"

Lost in her assessment of her new pet and keeping on talking. Emil threw up the fine sand he kept in his fist hidden, into her eyes, the only vulnerable point of hers that was exposed.

Handsome guy, obsessed girls', are really easy to trick.

Emil punched away her arm, that was still grabbing his chin and turned around, to sprint away as fast as he could. Even when she can't see anymore, he was still no opponent for her.

If everyone from the Black Vipers were strong as her, than they all would die, once they are caught by them!
