Granting You A Second Life

The color drained from both Dr. Fu Meng's and Dr. Cheng Wu's face. They never would have thought that this small disheveled woman was a doctor. She looked like she was only in her teens.

Dr Fu Meng thought to himself 'Is she the Qin family's private doctor? Were the Qin's testing them?'

They both looked at the Qin's they suddenly felt a tinge of fear 'Have they found out everything? What were the Qin's going to do to them?'

Qin Song turned his cold stare on director Bing.

Qin Song: "Do these people even know what they're doing? How could you allow incompetent doctors to handle Little 4th's case? Not only is my father on the board of directors, but we also give generous annual donations and I pay exorbitant medical fees to get the best treatment, which includes the best doctors. Director Bing, I think your mental faculties are declining and its time for you to retire."

Director Bing turned pale and stuttered:" Well you see... well... well I. They are qualified doctors, they are certified."

The temperature in the room felt like it dropped another several degrees.

Qin Xian Jun stood up from his chair: "I'll be 30 minutes."

Qin Xian Jun took out his phone from his back pocket dialed a number and walked out the room with the phone to his ear.

Elder Qin was extremely worried. He turned to his oldest son: "Song, what's going on right now?"

Li Xiuying: "Elder Qin what's important now is checking on Qin Zhen's well being. You can destroy these minor characters later."

Elder Qin: "You're a doctor?"

Li Xiuying put her ID in Elder Qin's hand.

Li Xiuying turned back to address the other doctors in the room: "Supposed Dr. Fu and Pretend Dr. Cheng stand to the side. Keep out of the way."

She looked at the other two doctors in the room who were trying their hardest to become invisible. On their badges it said Surgery.

Li Xiuying: "You will be One and Two. One get me the equipment needed to take a full blood screen and check inflammatory markers, kidney function, and blood group. Get a small pot for a urine sample. Two get the ultrasound scanner. Both of you have 3 minutes. "

Both the doctors ran out of the room as fast as lightning.

Li Xiuying then turned to Director Bing. " Get me a set of scrubs, a fresh pair of shoes, a bar of soap and shampoo." She couldn't respect someone who was allowing people to run amok, he was supposed to be running a hospital, not a circus.

Probably because of the tense atmosphere and the murderous gazes that were directed at him director Bing forgot his own status and ran out the door to get all the items himself. The director came back with the items in less than a minute.

Li Xiuying turned to Elder Qin who was still staring at the ID card in his hands: "I have to shower and change first." With that said she headed into the en-suite.

A few minutes later a mud-less and twig-less Li Xiuying walked towards Qin Zhen lying on the bed and sat down on the edge. He looked at her with shining eyes and was pleased that someone was finally listening to him not just talking to his dad and brothers.

Little 4th immediately liked this woman. No one had ever truly believed him about his pain.

Li Xiuying directed all her attention to the little bun. She softened her tone slightly: "Qin Zhen, I'm Dr. Li. I'm going to ask you a few questions and then I'll check your tummy and run some tests. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask."

Li Xiuying: "When did the pain start?

Qin Zhen: "3 hours ago."

Li Xiuying: "Where is the pain?"

Qin Zhen: "All over my tummy."

Everyone was silent as Li Xiuying continued to ask questions and little 4th obediently answered.

After 2 minutes and 58 seconds, One and Two came back in the room with all the equipment.

Li Xiuying: "Qin Zhen I'm going to have to look at your tummy now. If it hurts anywhere or feels uncomfortable let me know."

Li Xiuying started doing a full abdominal examination. She mumbled to herself: "Mcburney's sign present, positive Rovsing sign".

Li Xiuying opened Qin Zhen's medical records that were at the end of his bed. She took a blank piece of paper and the pen attached to the folder. She began to write and moments later she handed it to Two.

Li Xiuying: "You have 2 minutes." Two sprinted out of the room.

Li Xiuying did an ultrasound, whilst One inserted a cannula and filled the test tubes with blood.

One carried out vital observations after the urine sample was collected. He sent the urine sample along with the bloods to the labs.

Qin Xian Jun had finished his phone call and was sitting beside little 4th again. His eyes burning with rage, shooting daggers at Dr. Fu Meng and Dr. Cheng Wu.

Eventually, the results were back. One and Two stood in front of Li Xiuying who was scanning through several pieces of paper.

Li Xiuying looked up from the results.

Li Xiuying: "One and Two. What is the diagnosis and treatment for someone who has widespread abdominal pain, Mcburney's sign, positive Rovsing sign, raised temperature, raised WBC, especially neutrophilia and raised CRP?"

They both answered in unison: "Acute appendicitis, laparoscopic appendectomy."

Li Xiuying: "First administer IV antibiotics, then you both will assist me in the theater."

Dr. Fu Meng and Dr. Cheng Wu started wishing that the ground would swallow them whole.
