I Reincarnated As A Minotaur In A Dungeon

Chapter 11 - Do you hear that sound?

Contrary to what some people would imagine, not all dungeons had the appearance of a dark cave made of stones with dark corners and monsters waiting at every corner. Of course, there were dungeons of this type and they were more common than those with a tropical or aquatic environment, but it was sensible to remember that the dungeons were the "world" of monsters, a place where they developed their own society, customs and territories.

Entering a dungeon was no different than going to a different country, the only difference being that all the monsters in a dungeon would see the "visitors" as great offerings that could be traded for food, power, or whatever their people needed.

Of course, the fact that all visitors came to kill did not make them worthy of a big welcome party.

The point is, each dungeon has its own set of rules for its inner appearance and although on the outside they all looked like large black stone towers encased in a red glow really suspicious, its interior was not only much larger than it was on the outside, as the time, climate, and environment within them changed completely.

Unfortunately for Astherios, at least the first floor of the dungeon he encountered was faithful to the sight of dungeon people, at least in the eyes of people who came from the same world as the blond boy.

"Well .... Start the Hunt" By removing the two axes from the item box where he had previously saved them, the Minotaur was ready to do whatever any monster or intruder did when encountering someone from another race within a dungeon: Kill first , ask later.

Walking slowly down the stone corridor that stretched ahead of him, the Minotaur was glad to have been born naturally with the ability to see in the dark, even at Level 1, it was enough for him to have advantages against most humans there.

A sad fact about the life of newcomers inside a dungeon, if there is someone of high level who is unlucky enough to die in the hand of a low level monster, the difference between the levels of both will be enough to turn the monster into of a level too high for the floor, but too weak to go to a lower floor. This causes the monster to be able to easily kill other monsters and adventurers on the floor, which it will do with p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e, to stay strong enough to go to another.

And that was exactly Astherios situation at the time, he was too weak a monster to go to the next floor, but too strong for novice adventurers to handle without a group of at least 2 or 3, of course if that was only considered his level, thanks to his high attributes, no novice without a rare ability would be able to deal with the minotaur if there were not at least 5 or more members in his team.

"Oh, I think we found our next victim." As Astherios walked through the reasonably dark corridors of the dungeon, a pair of adventurers exclaimed joyfully to see the minotaur walking alone on that floor, an easy hunt in their sight.

In fact, on the first floor of this particular dungeon, the monsters that all newcomers encountered were the minotaurs that ranged from level 1 to level 4 and they usually always walked in pairs or trios, making them a slightly complicated job for a team of two men, but a minotaur alone? For those two adventurers who had been hunting for nearly a month in the dungeon, there was no easier target.

Ignorance really is a blessing.

Looking at the two convinced adventurers in front of him, who looked at him as if he were nothing but a harmless bunny ready to be killed and devoured by them, made the minotaur really want to laugh. Yes, Astherios was not furious, feeling humiliated or frustrated at the way they looked at him, it was just really funny for the minoutaur.

After all when a puppy's puppy growls and barks at you, you do not get angry wanting to kill them right away, alright? You think it's cute, funny and ridiculous. And that was exactly how Astherios was feeling at the moment.

"Bye bye, woof woof." With a smile on his lips the minotaur simply picked up one of the axes and hurled it toward one of the men, his ax whistling as he cut through the air before lodging in the head of one of the men, splitting his skull in the middle and pushing him back before any of them could even notice what was happening.

"You ... You talk! "Funny how little details sometimes distract people from horrible facts, is not true?? Instead of being impressed and frightened by the fact that his friend now had a huge ax splitting his head in half, the other adventurer had been more surprised that a minotaur, a violent being who wanted nothing more than to kill and eat meat (human or not) and was considered a humanoid monster with one of the lowest intelligences (Including the Goblins) was at that moment speaking, but soon the man realized that it was not the moment to discuss the intellectual evolution of the monster in front of him and that running would be something much more suitable for the situation.

Unfortunately, when he finally decided to turn his back and start running it was too late. Before he could take more than a few steps away from his friend's bloodied body, another ax cut the air even faster than the previous one, but instead of hitting the adventurer's head, he hit his back, pushing the man to front and knocking him to the ground without killing him. Still.

Full of fear and feeling more pain than anything he had ever felt before, the man tried to crawl further. Escape the sounds of footsteps that came closer and closer, making shivers make him know he was about to die and there was nothing that could stop it.

"Do you hear that sound? "Hearing the monster's question and knowing that he was even closer to him, the adventurer despaired to crawl further away from the minotaur, he did not want to die, he still had so much money to gain, so much to do, both the ... A shriek escaped his lips as he felt one foot pushing him to the ground as the ax was drawn from his back. Pain, pain, and more pain was all he felt.

"That's the sound of death coming" The moment he heard that cold, indifferent voice declaring that fact, he felt a great pain going through his throat and then .... Darkness.
